@nas1fmalik Wow.Your so messed up!! One of the astronautts in the explotion was a 8th or 9th grade teacher, and her whole class what whatching it all on T.V.What if you were in the explotion?Hah, not so funny is it?
@netradioheyu One of the "O" rings that kept the fuel airtight froze, and it started to leak. When mission control said "Challenger go with throttle up." The fuel leaked and dropped into the after burners and it ignited and the fire followed the fuel all the way back up to the tanks and blew up. That's what I was told.
@Colton5 I am sorry you think that way, but I have to disagree. The only person I can think that would make a comment like that must be a "God Warrior".
@phin3s then why are the discontinuing the shuttles and going back to spacecraft similar to the original space race craft. the Shuttles have alot of issues
Because it's tough to maintain a small number of ships, with highly specialized parts, that are subject to forces most other types in their class are not, for a period of three decades. Eventually there will come a point where the expense of maintaining their use overcomes the benefits of their utilization.
It's the same reason that the BA/AF Concordes are no longer flying.
I am very sorry for these dead heroes, but in general folks sure dressed funny in the 80s it seems they were lost between the teenie bop 50s and smokin' cool 90s . I dont know it just seems to me the were all dressed like a a bunch of dorks. That is just for the spectators I am talking not the astronauts
Pink Floyd's 'On The Run" from Dark Side of the Moon will forever remind me of this tragic final flight of Challenger.

Heartbreaking, such a tragedy. May there never again be another that ends as the Challenger or the Columbia....

The Shuttle was the biggest mistake. They are worthless space craft.
