Thank you Susan for your love of my home New Orleans. You either get it or don't get it. I am so glad that you get it, especially at a time when so many Americans were telling us to just let it go. As if!!!!!!!!!!!
I respect Susan Cowsill. She is a true talent who has survived many Katrina's. It is sad she lost a brother to this catastrophe. But she is a talent that continues on and God bless her. Many less talented individuals have been afforded fame not deserved which she has been warranted. Thank you, Susan Cowsill for persevering and giving us real music to cherish.
You know the whole Cowsill thing - I grew up with that b.s. - on TV - but you know what I give her a lot of credit and am rooting her on - and wish her well - and yes New Orleans is a helluva a City - We'll be back soon - count on it!
Great song...flashback at 6:00 -- There's a con man on Bourbon street who says he can tell you where you got those shoes, for a certain price. You play ball and he'll say....well, you got to go to New Orleans to find out :-)
The most eerie shot was from when she was floating by the wharves....wasn't that where they found her brother's body floating? They found his body weeks after the hurricane, so God knows what shape he was in.
Susan was born with talent and passion--this video is only one of her many crowning achievements. Thank you, Sue, for the gift of your talent; it means so much to me. The footage of Barry breaks my heart--I think of him and all of you often. You all mean so much to me.
This is a heartbreakingly beautiful song. I'd never thought to look for a video--it's beautifully done and Susan, no one sings like you; you are one very gifted lady.
I discovered this song totally by accident about a year ago while doing a Cowsills search on Google.
Very few songs have ever taken my breath away as much as this one. I was a disc-jockey for 20+ years and am a total music freak, so the fact that Susan's beautiful ode to a devastating time had this impact on me is quite something.
Hope you read these comments, Susan. I listened to this song at least 25 times in a row after first hearing it. It's haunting, lovely and hopeful.
Beautiful Susan! I met you several years ago when your family performed at the Taste Of Rhode Island. I came with my friend Jane Ranum from MN. Thank you for this Awesome song and the glimpses of Barry. Barry stayed overnight with us in Grand Portage when he came North to do a gig in Grand Marais. He gifted us with his awesome CD. We very much enjoyed his music and our time with him. God Bless you and yours Susan. We look forward to seeing you in Grand Marais soon! Love, Tamarie & Stuart
This is beautiful isn't it? It's just a reflection of the person Susan is and all she stands for. We will have to have another Cowsill weekend in Grand Marais when she, Russ and band are here, eh? I think in memory of Barry would be fitting.....
This video could not have been produced without the support of LCN-TV. They believed in it from the beginning and Deb Stein and Kipp Pierce made it happen. LCN has been steadfast in its support of music and arts in Louisiana. Thanks also to the New Orleans News Ladder. GN, Producer
How beautiful...I started to cry when I saw Barry. A lot of love went into this video and the song. An outstanding job by all and especially by Susan who once again shows that she is simply, a gift to the world.
Susan, that was beautiful...just like you, hon! Thank you SO much for making that and putting in shots of Barry. You know it made me cry! But it is wonderful. You said it all perfectly. NOLA lives on!
Susan Cowsill captures the soul and sadness of Hurricane Katrina's devastating effect on the lives of the people of NOLA; ultimately reminding us of the resilient spirit of the city and the woman herself. She has been a diligent advocate - with beautiful artistry - of the need to keep on keepin' on fighting the good fight.
Residents of the Big Easy were astonished to see snow falling steadily on Christmas Day 2004, the first Christmas snow in half a century and the first snowfall in 15 years in the city.
Thank you Susan for your love of my home New Orleans. You either get it or don't get it. I am so glad that you get it, especially at a time when so many Americans were telling us to just let it go. As if!!!!!!!!!!!

For many Katrina will simply be a
memory of a terrible storm for those
like Susan who were permanently impacted
it will leave a lasting scar on the heart
It's wonderful she could set aside her
pain & share her gift
