In my view Star Trek is a world show. Not all of the cast were Americans. William Shatner is Canadian, Patrick Stewart is English. James Doohan was a Canadian, Marina Sirtis is English, Nicole deBoer is Canadian, Colm Meaney is Irish, Alexander Siddig is English/Sudanese and that is just the main cast.
