Ok anorexia isn't always about mental issues. Anorexia is where you have a very picky diet and don't eat enough. If you think you have this sort of anorexia eat more protein and veggies and healthy stuff with enough calories to keep you healthy. It isn't easy believe me I know. But if you think you have the mental disorder anorexia, please, get help, see a psychiatrist and a doctor or just GET HELP!
When I was 24 I had a nervous breakdown after my father had stroke. I ended up in a psych hospital. There was an anorexic who was my age. She was soooo gorgeous and she got all the attention in the group. I resented this at the time because we all needed help. I didn't see her until I was 33. She looked 50. I mean, she had the face of an old woman. Deep wrinkles and dark circles. She was now not in danger but it ruined her looks by 30. Permanently.

I agree, anorexic people do not have to be thin, anorexia is associated with people that are very or too skinny, when actually, it is an eating disorder with a fear of gaining weight.
Technically one of the diagnostic criteria for anorexia nervosa is having a body weight of less than 15% within the normal range. But that doesn't mean you can't be engaging in all anorexic beaviours/activities. So you might be an anorectic kind of person but weigh too much to fulfill the full diagnostic criteria for ana.

Good call on exercising, it probably gets better results than starvation since low metabolism would result from anorexia, and for most people I'm guessing they would not end up looking very sexy.

It's something in your brain that triggers what we see. I suffer from bulemia and no matter what people say, all I see is fat. It's the same as if someone was suicidal. How can someone want to jump off a bridge or shoot themselves, but it's mental, rather they really want to or not. It takes more than just eating to cure this, you have to mentally heal, not just physically.

I agree, anorexic people do not have to be thin, anorexia is associated with people that are very or too skinny, when actually, it is an eating disorder with a fear of gaining weight.

I go to school where there are only like 2 chubby girls, the rest are really thin because it's natural.
They eat all the time and don't gain a pound, but a girl like me has to work really really hard!

Technically one of the diagnostic criteria for anorexia nervosa is having a body weight of less than 15% within the normal range. But that doesn't mean you can't be engaging in all anorexic beaviours/activities. So you might be an anorectic kind of person but weigh too much to fulfill the full diagnostic criteria for ana.

Some of the girls in this video are not anorexic. Just because you can see their hip bones does not mean that they are anorexic. I am 145 and you can see my rips and hip bones. Does this make me anorexic?

Good call on exercising, it probably gets better results than starvation since low metabolism would result from anorexia, and for most people I'm guessing they would not end up looking very sexy.

Sooo,, if anorexic people think they're fat, why do they make so many pictures of themselves because they're insecure?!?! Real fat people would wear such closes and make that many pictures of them in such clothes. It's something in your brain that triggers what we see. I suffer from bulemia and no matter what people say, all I see is fat. It's the same as if someone was suicidal. How can someone want to jump off a bridge or shoot themselves, but it's mental, rather they really want to or not. It takes more than just eating to cure this, you have to mentally heal, not just physically.
