fools like you must realize democracy in taiwan is a new thing only about a decade long. For 40 years Chiang ruled as authoritarian in taiwan. Of course you would expect the people to react and elect a new government when a chance arises. Speaking of racial segregation/discrimination if you were old enough to remember speaking anything non-mandarin gets punished in school, yeah, and limited hours of non-mandarin TV shows and taipei city gets most of the govt funding, real fair huh.

If you fundamentalists decide Taiwan's independence is the best thing for your families, friends, and the people around you, please push your idiot president to declare independence RIGHT NOW. But get ready to 1) dispel those who disagree with you or force changes; 2) get Taiwan into a long time war, both internal and with the mainland. I appreciate democratization in Taiwan, but pursuing independence under the name of a superior "democratic system" is disgusting. Let me ask you: if mainland China adopts a fairer electorate system, would the green fundamentalists switch the gear to reunification?
