I posted something on my Facebook about teaching my children that Santa was fake and I was completely dashed to pieces by "Christians" saying that I was ruining the spirits of the kids that may see that post. These people called themselves Christian, yet tore me to shreds defending their Santa. They acted as though I was committing a wrong by potentially letting a child see the truth about a lie that their parents had taught them. And people wonder what's wrong with the church today..........
Santa is a tradition in some families- part of the Christmas celebrations. The idea that being Christian means snarking about a mythical guy who gives gifts is pointless and does nothing to futher the cause of Christ. Christmas is to celebrate the birth of a guy who showed up at a party, found out they were out of wine and did his first recorded miracle by creating more booze. Not the dude to get bent out of shape over jolly fat guys in red suits pretending to have reindeer pulling a sled..
@Lefrohe Christmas is when we celebrate God Himself coming down from Heaven to rescue us because we were Hell bound on an express train. We couldn't reach Him so He came down to us."...according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. He poured out this Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life." Titus 3: 5b-7 ~ Merry Christmas.
@ElJibaroBravo No disagreement. Problem is the people who insist that the celebration has to fit their version of propriety or it's not 'Christian' enough. I have seen folks that celebrate with the 'Santa' story and gifts who have more love and joy in their Christmas than some self proclaimed Christians demonstrate over an entire year. Yes Christ came down to us and provided salvation for us. Doesn't mean the celebration can't include some frivolity.
@ByHisWounds That's a quote by Carl Sagan and it's true. The reason so many atheists don't believe in any god is because of an intense lack of falsifiable evidence. Check out Sagan's "Invisible Green Dragon" argument.

waylifetruth. I am astonished that you ridicule commonsense and logic. You are probably a very nice person, a good Samaritan, but so lost in your indoctrination, you dare to speak with authority that you do not have. How dare you say God creates things fully mature? How do you know? THINK... If your mum was named Tara and your dad was Raj and you had been born and brought up as a Hindu in New Delhi, yes, you would still be a nice person, but proudly defending Hinduism. amen.

Adam and Eve had no mother tongue or language... must have grunted. They had no belly buttons ... You didn't think of that did you/? Why didn't Noah's lions eat the sheep? In fact where did he get food for them all? Where does the Devil get fuel for his eternal furnace ? Does he have maintenance men for it ? and if so, why do they not burn? Don't worry about going there, you have to die first, so you are dead on arrival. Bye bye, relax, don't worry about it, God loves you. Bless you all.
That is ridiculous. God ALWAYS creates thing FULLY mature with an apparent history of a past they never had. When Jesus fed the 5000, he fed them with Bread that never saw an oven, never kneaded from dough, the fish never spawned in the water, they were created fully functional with an apparent history they never had. Your folly is you do not believe in miracles or don't understand history. Adam and eve had belly buttons, they were the first humans.

To copy just ONE page of bible. you need a biro, several sheets of paper and to spell and write, 2000 years ago, no biros, no paper, A rough fisherman up since 5.30 am, home tired and hungrey at 6pm, now write clearly about someone performing miracles, (If you can do it, 15 years later theres a pile of scriptures standing on a shelf somewhere in the middle east, badly written,.the kids often knocked them down, the Mrs put them back, Newspapers turn brown in England after 10 years. GREAT.

MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY.... THE MIDDLE EAST GAVE US SOME OIL AND 3 RELIGIONS THAT HATE EACH OTHER.
DURING WORLD WAR 2 CHRISTIANS KILLED CHRISTIANS. TODAY IN IRAC, MUSLIMS KILL MUSLIMS. BUT DID THE JEWS EVER KILL THE JEWS? MAYBE THEY ARE GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE.
I can't believe how many people are blinded from the true meaning of christmas behind the rituals we pursue in. We must remind people the TRUE meaning of christmas. The good news. Jesus =] Amen!
Really? Do I have to prove that leprechauns and fairies don't exist for you not to believe in them? How about (above the visible spectrum) radiation and electricity, which are also invisible? Oh wait . . . we have reliable testable evidence to show that they exist. So that is the standard for measuring reality. Do you have or know of any reliably testable evidence to demonstrate the existence of god or Santa Claus?
Every effect must have a cause. For example, we know the earth spins. Why does it spin? Well, something must have made it spin. What caused that a occurrence? Something else. You eventually get to a point where there is a first cause, or as Plato and later Thomas Aquinas called it, an "immovable mover." What could that possibly have been? A being perhaps. God perhaps? You can't rule out the God factor without infinite reason against it.
