I know how you feel, whenever I work on my 86 my back starts killing me to the point where I have to sit. I'm only 16 and already have back problems from lifting heavy shit off my truck. Got any tips for the pain? Also, is the 84 and the 86 lockers the same? Mines a 86 k20 scottsdale.
once you take that ring that you tightened off, will the whole assembly come off? because i need to remove a wheel stud that broke and i apparently need to take the whole assembly apart
idk very uch about 4x4s...but why dont newer ones hav thoose hubs?, and whats the difference between a all tme 4x4 and one you can engage like choose what yo uwanna do with the power if you get what i mean.
I just had both inner and outer bearings replaced on my ford f250 4wd and now i'm getting this clicking sound when I engage the front hubs. Any idea what this is?
Hey I've recently noticed I have a bearing out in the front left side of my 79 k5, and I've gotten as far apart as taking that nut with the 6 slots on it. Theres nothing else like it on the inside, I can't see anything that would be taken out. The threaded part that the nut went on had a groove on top of it, but other than that I can't see anything. The clip you showed at 4:17 is no where to be found.
@lovettoride Both should lock for you when thew work right... if not it is FULL of mud ,, it Broke inside,, or just needs some PB Blaster in there to get it freed up is all so take out them Screws and check it out it's not hard man .. if you need help i will make you one more videos i have to take mine apart again soon
@TheOutlawVideoSS yes please do i'll post a vid of what mine are doing, i started messing with it after watching your vid and found out that both of my wheels spin when locked and my front drive shaft spins with both drivers and passengers side.
depend what kind of locker you have up front if it gonna spin or not man.
fully locked whill stop like that untell you pick up the other side of the tire, and make sure your 4x4 is disingaged. if you have limited slip or open you will still be able to spin it .
LOL yeah but when you take it down ever time you race it you don't need it ... it will only loosen a little and we drive it on short 300" tracks for Drags and the hill climb is not that much... But it has to come apart every time because of the mud and makes it 100% Faster this way
With all the money you put in that truck you should at least have the special socket, when i did the upper and lower ball joints on my truck it was a must have, i bought the socket for like $20 at parts source, the outter nut is supposed to be torqued to 65 ftlbs in some cases a 100 ftlbs, i know if you torque that thing down it wont be coming loose, go and buy the tool it will save you in the long run.
The Truck Comes apart after ever Race so it don't matter. it don't run long a nuff to come loose before it comes apart again and we are RedNecks here not a Inspectors ..
To bad I'm not closer you coulda called me and I woulda helped you out with it with the damage done to you I know how it is, Friends are a big help when your ingured
hey whats up man .. how the start of the off season treating you.. just a couple months and party time,, hmmmm wish there was a snow bog.. theres something new.. any how keep it rockin.. i wondering the intrernet and found a cool site for muddin tv.. its on justin tv called mud trucktv.. that would be a great idea start a tv show of sorts on a streaming site!! just an idea
There is one BUT this truck comes apart after Every Event or race so it is not needed ... i should have said that in The Video but i forgot Thanks for adding this Comment...
