You meant like Geraldine Ferraro was criticized in the media? Her words were suggestive at best while Wright not only condemned the whites, but the very government for which Obama seeks Presidency. Obama's much more intimate association with Farrakhan then Wright is responsible for the controversy. For a change, the media gave fair coverage that was commensurate with the offenses of Ferraro & Wright.

I did read it; before/after Wright was outed by the media. It was a TWELVE point system then; that's why I say it was modified after the controversy. The church took out 2 of its most racially wrong statements. No, I don't label "people" unpatriotic; I label Wright, his church and those who agree. Our country does deserve criticism to be shared equally by blacks/whites. Everything that goes wrong is somehow whities fault. Take responsibility for a change; the TRUE act of maturity.
I think you have a good point of view, but it is a black point of view. Powell would have won, with most whites it's not about color, but about the idea that we owe something to someone, which is not true, most white familes in America had nothing to do with relations 100 years ago, but were imports themselves. The rich not the white did this.
While you are right that the majority of white families in America had nothing to do with past relations due to the fact they were mostly immigrants. They did enter into a society where they had an advantage due to the fact that they were white. They, on average, recieved better education, better housing and better jobs than native born blacks. So naturally, they were able to advance economically while blacks, in general, remained poor.

So to sum things up, although the majority of whites weren't apart of the social injustices of the past, they did benefit from that legacy which helped to create a society that was tilted in their favor. Which has more or less been an underlying factor between race and socio-economical status even to this day.

I wasn't writing White people off and saying they are all ignorant (that would make ME ignorant). What I'm saying is Churches preach doctrine in a way that links common daily life with the 'word.' Racism isn't on lips of white preachers because altar boys were! (did white preachers talk about that?) Seriously though, in my experience w/white & black churches I find Black churches don't b.s. they call to action. White churches act holier then thou and frigid so they can point fingers at others.
I think that white preachers who have committed offenses against the altar boys were properly dealt with (in prison). I'm doubting Wright's church will be properly dealt with, however. i've been to both churches. you can have a church that talks to you and you leave and forget about it til the next sunday or one that calls you to look around and do something. one that challenges your complacency to act in the love and righteousness. love isn't soft and squishy all the time. :-)

The military agreed then when we went to war (they were giddy over going to war) and they agree now that we should stay to re-establish order. It's not tricky, read Cone. Black Liberation Theology teaches there are 2 types, the Oppressed and the Oppressors. Collective Salvation is granted to both types only through the redistribution of the Oppressors wealth to the Oppressed. Which type are you? What amazed me , is the white people that called Obama and Rev. Wright racists when it was racist whites that established "black" churches in the first place. They didn't want to worship God with us. Most of these whites never even heard of Rev. Wright or cared about his ministry for the last 40 years, until they needed something convienient to complain about. Regardless of race, any man can be convinced to hate given ideal circumstances (ie-Hitler). That is why propaganda is an effective tool in war/policies/product advertisement/etc. Preaching hate in the church, where God should be the focus, is a propoganda. I did read it; before/after Wright was outed by the media. It was a TWELVE point system then; that's why I say it was modified after the controversy. The church took out 2 of its most racially wrong statements. No, I don't label "people" unpatriotic; I label Wright, his church and those who agree. Our country does deserve criticism to be shared equally by blacks/whites. Everything that goes wrong is somehow whities fault. Take responsibility for a change; the TRUE act of maturity.

I think you have a good point of view, but it is a black point of view. Powell would have won, with most whites it's not about color, but about the idea that we owe something to someone, which is not true, most white familes in America had nothing to do with relations 100 years ago, but were imports themselves. The rich not the white did this.

While you are right that the majority of white families in America had nothing to do with past relations due to the fact they were mostly immigrants. They did enter into a society where they had an advantage due to the fact that they were white. They, on average, recieved better education, better housing and better jobs than native born blacks. So naturally, they were able to advance economically while blacks, in general, remained poor.

cont... You are also right in saying that the rich did this, but you also must realize that the rich and influential were also white. So to sum things up, although the majority of whites weren't apart of the social injustices of the past, they did benefit from that legacy which helped to create a society that was tilted in their favor. Which has more or less been an underlying factor between race and socio-economical status even to this day.

No doubt about it, racism is alive and breathing in this country. It is true though that "with most whites it is not about color". Obama wouldn't even come close to being a candidate for Pres. based on the black vote alone. Whites wanted him in too because we are generally more color blind than blacks. Racism isn't on the lips of white preachers, but it is @ the heart of many black churches. Black hatred for whites is reinforced in most every black church and home. Your healing begins there.

I wasn't writing White people off and saying they are all ignorant (that would make ME ignorant). What I'm saying is Churches preach doctrine in a way that links common daily life with the 'word.' Racism isn't on lips of white preachers because altar boys were! (did white preachers talk about that?) Seriously though, in my experience w/white & black churches I find Black churches don't b.s. they call to action. White churches act holier then thou and frigid so they can point fingers at others.

I think that white preachers who have committed offenses against the altar boys were properly dealt with (in prison). I'm doubting Wright's church will be properly dealt with, however. Whites go to church to praise God instead of administer hate; what a concept huh? Your perception of whites being frigid and pointing fingers in church is just that; your perception. Curious though; when Wright was on the podium he wasn't pointing fingers and being frigid? Sounded pretty cold to me.

i've been to both churches. you can have a church that talks to you and you leave and forget about it til the next sunday or one that calls you to look around and do something. one that challenges your complacency to act in the love and righteousness. love isn't soft and squishy all the time. :-)

"Based in true"? No, whites didn't create the AIDS virus. Wright suggested 911 was this country's fault. It was not. Obama is poor & underprivileged. He is not. See? All untrue. Wright isn't racist because of "The Speech". NO, he's unpatriotic. Instead, the church's "12 Point Value System" proves that he and his church is racist. Check it out sometime; if they haven't removed it yet from the church's website. You and I didn't really need it to see it, however, to know better; now did we?

That was pure marketing on behalf of the bush war machine. In regards to the Value system, ever thought WHY there is a 12 point value system? I agree about Bush, but don't see your relevance here; remember that whites AND blacks voted him into office. Wright did WAY MORE than simply "question the country's motives"; he damned it and you can't get any more unpatriotic than that. And yes, I have thought "WHY there is a 12 point value system". Simple, they're RACIST. If YOUR standards of what is racist and what is not were to hold true for the nation, then the KKK would have a platform from which to preach hate.

A community trying to survive because the sys. is systematically preventing success is not racist. it's survival. btw I find it amazing that they had to go back EIGHT years to find something on Wright. which was around the same time CLINTON was being impeached.

Wrights words weren't from 8 yrs. ago-they were made shortly before he retired a few weeks ago(per Obama's interview on CNN). I didn't want Clinton nor do I want Bush, but I would GLADLY keep them ANY DAY over chancing a racist in office. I'd vote Obama if I felt otherwise; but I also knew better than to vote David Duke.

You're not listening. I don't blame Obama for Wright's comments, but I do feel that Obama is just as extremist to be affiliated w/ an extremist church, Wright and Farrakhan, etc. for 20 frickin' years. We aren't talking about some off the wall comments made sporadically; we're talking about people who make a career out of preaching hatred. Come on big brain, since mine's so tiny:-) Go search for Farrakhan here on YouTube. If white's preached this hatred the gov't would intervene. Grow up :-)

Because it is white run you criticize. The truth is that black or white we would have problems in our government. As long as the white's control the gov't. blacks will always criticize using the race card and not by delving into facts surrounding the decisions made. Remember it was the whites who made a place in the country for the blacks. The blacks didn't create affirmative action, EEOC, etc. The white gov't did to help the blacks. You won't be happy until the country has no more whites.

It seems as if you grew up in an environment that fostered hate and racism against whites. Perhaps your church too fostered the same views of Wright, Farrakhan, etc. or perhaps your peers. I don't know, but your repulsion against whites certainly isn't founded on reality. It is a fantasy of white coercion, deceit, and propaganda for which you will concede; even if proof is staring at you. You'll just come up with a new version that fits with your agenda to hate & blame the white race.

Blacks feel the way they do because of a distant history . Some feelings are justified (as I said before), now it's mostly conspiracy theories and propaganda by people like Wright who devote their lives to blaming whites so blacks can feel superior. You're being misguided into believing you should hate whites. Why do you think whites feel like they do? Gov't grants, EEOC, Affirmative Action, black-on-white crime rate 39 times more than white-on-blacks. That's the truth you've asked for.

I live in LA so don't pretend you know more about the story. That WAS true as it turned out. The whites that were caught on camera owned the store that they were taking from. It was THEIR merchandise they were protecting. Certified Negro News (CNN) didn't show that though. The "survivors" were interviewed on the local TV stations here. There is NO way you cant construe Wright w/ anything but contemptuous hatred. He talks of nothing but. You don't have to say the word "hate" to recognize it.

Say it again all you want. Colin Powell had the same opportunity in the beginning that he had 1.5 yrs. ago when he voiced concerns that the threat of "weapons of mass destruction" were overestimated. Instead, he went into much detail (details he could've not elaborated on) of our need for going to Iraq to fight this war in the beginning. It was clear that Bush, Cheney and Colin Powell had their (wrong) intelligence suggesting we should go to war. WOW, you are eat up w/ this racism spin & twist.

obviously you don't have friends or family in the military. the military only executes the action. so if the president says do it the military CAN'T say no. All they can do is figure out how to minimize the SNAFUs created by corporate greed driven agendas. The military was an application in "forced diplomatic relations."If ANY general was up there they would have done the same thing regardless of color. it's a troop thing. even now you have generals reluctantly stepping down.

Wrong again, my Dad served in Vietnam; so I did have a Dad there. I also have 2 good friends there. The military agreed then when we went to war (they were giddy over going to war) and they agree now that we should stay to re-establish order. You are right, however, that there is greed going on in our government; just as there is greed in every facet of our lives (black churches & black politicians - refer to CNN). The point is that blacks/whites share in this responsibility; not just whites.

There's absolutely no way to construe his "Value System" w/ racism; nor can it be construed his words are unpatriotic. What are you talking about mountains for? Powell spoke out 1.5 yrs. ago (LONG after our invasion) and Bush did too. The weapons of mass destruction were from CIA intel (blacks work there too). The CIA (screwed up the info.) Again, there was no fantasy conspiracy. Powell/Bush/& others made the decision (together) that war was necessary so you would have a country to complain in. BTW, Hillary has admitted REPEATEDLY that she made a mistake. Her & Bill's work did more for blacks than Obama has.

Hillary isn't a terrible candidate because she's white or because Obama is running. I'm wasting your time? You addressed me initially; not the other way around. I watched 30 minutes of the video surrounding (before/after) his speech for which he made no apologies. If he wasn't willing to make any apologies I've got nothing but contempt for the racist weasel who is in exile (Africa) while his followers continue the racism. The context was crystal clear for anyone who saw it, read it or heard it. Just for the record, I never used the word "mountains". There WAS evidence which is why we spent the first 2 years looking for it. We didn't find it, but CIA intelligence said it was there (FYI:blacks & whites work w/ the CIA). To protect your right to call whites racist, we went (w/ Powell's endorsement). Powell did speak out until AFTER America knew WMD weren't there; TOO LATE. We're there now to establish order of the chaos and rebuild. No other country would do that. America the great.

Again, lets go back to the facts. The CIA had intel that implicated WMD. Powell went to the media before we went to war and talked about how vital it was that we go. Generals make these decisions w/ the President as did Powell & that is well known. The contradictory evidence about WMD that you use out of context was discovered just 1.5 yrs. ago. Saying Powell is jut an instrument of Bush is another example of your single minded propaganda.
