Probably because it's got 'FIAT' in the title and everyone searches for that :) Well, it was quite a technical achievement for those guys in Poland to put a FWD drivetrain into the back of a 126 and then have the guts to drive it. I don't think it could happen in other countries... -Alex

The engine of the "one-trunk" version was similar to that of the Fiat 500. It was said that when last 126 came out of the line, all Poland stopped by for a while. 126 moved Poland as well 500 moved Italy after WWII.

The car was produced in the late 70's till the early 90's in Poland (FSM-Fiat firms in Tychy, wich besides will produce the new 500), and imported in Italy and Poland...

there is only 1 engine and its drivetrain is switched around so if its physiclly moving backwards the trasmission is in forward and is shiftable, where if its physsicly moving forward the trans. is in reverse you can hear it, it sounds funny
