I hope everyone knows that the U.S actually showed them videos of the bomb warning them this was what could come if not surrendering. Be as mad as you want but it was either this or have the war last into 1946 and loose another estimated 500,000 troops. Stop bashing Especially if your are from a foreign country besides the U.S.A!
One word describes all americans and the word is COWARDS.Where is the honor in that?Atomic bomb over CIVlL POPULATION this men, women and children are not soldiers. And again where is the honor in this?Only a COWARS without honor can do such thing.......May god have mercy on your soul.
The most ultimate act of terror in the entire history of the humanity - dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki - has ben carried out by the most cruel, smelly scum of the humanity - the Americans
Japan was about to chuck the towel in anyway. If newsreel of the Mexican bomb tests had been relayed with a warning, Hiroshima and Nagasaki would still be average towns. Normally named towns without any atrocity attached. A barbaric act....and the barbarism continues ad nauseum ad infinitum
@Rikk303 I don't agree that they were ready to throw in the towel. I know some historians argue that, but if you read the intelligence, it was confusion. Some members of the Japanese government wanted to negotiate surrender with Russia. Others were ready to fight to death. Even after two bombs were dropped, some were unwilling to surrender. I think the bombing was terrible, but it made more sense than invasion. I lived in Hiroshima for 2 years.
@ellethekitty yeah I know. Surrender, to the Japanese is considered to be the ultimate humiliation...a fate worse than death. I just thought that a preview of a fate worse than a fate worse than death might have kept a lot of souls alive had the Japanese Government seen the capabilities of a nuclear event. I know it ended the war in its' tracks...maybe it's hindsight that repulses me. Maybe I'm an idiot that's enjoying a certain peace as a result but nuking innocents can never be justified
@vinniekanh they didnt throw a bomb that killed thousands of innocents and they didnt detonate a bomb that would still have effect on people, american government can go to hell, fuck them, bastards.
@ellethekitty america is founded by terrorists, for terrorists! an act like this is just un-imaginable. No-one should be allowed to do this, you would be talking differrent if that bomb would hit your hometown
HEY DUMBFUCK When the atomic bombs were dropped over 100,000 PEOPLE WERE OBLITERATED OUT OF THE FACE OF THE EARTH. ALL IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. THERE WERE NO BODIES TO BURY. And the number isn't including the thousands of survivals who died from radiation burns and cancer years later. Comparing Pearl Harbor to the atomic bombings is a fucking joke you DIPSHIT
Whatever people say: It was NOT necessary!! NO WAR IS NECESSARY!! But once we start a war, there are casualties!! That´s the sad way it is! If there would be no war, there would be not the fact to decide if it should be dropped or not. So I don´t wanna hear EVER AGAIN that these drops were necessary!!!
So screwed up. 65 years later morons are hand-wringing and crying at how unnecessary it was. Yeah, Truman, the military et al just thought "Oh what the hell, let's try this." How can you people sit there on your damn youtube and claim some moral high-ground regarding something you likely weren't even a twinkle in your daddy's eye for? Because you say some papers surfaced? Or history books say so? Or better yet your pot-soaked greasy haired professors told you? Damn - go to work!
A Wise man once said if you stand next to the enemy you might get caught in the crossfire. In a perfect world was this the right thing to do?Some say no but at the end of the day, Hiroshima occured during a LEGALLY declared war between Japan and the USA that was INITIATED by the JAPANESE in their strike against Pearl Harbor.Furthermore, the bombs SAVED lives(American& Japanese)since it forced the Japanese to surrender after their Emperor had ordered civilians armed to repell a land invasion.
This song really makes me cry, cause half of my race got killed,
the ones that didn't do anything, thier were innocent children mothers uncles,
And peoples dads, And some we're killed where some of the schools were near the epic-center, so it kinda makes me said how people can be so inhumain to my race when they are human like everyone else.

Whether Harry Truman would be considered a “War Criminal” for dropping the atomic bombs on Japan or not (including good arguments). Google for:
"THE TRUTH ABOUT THE ATOMIC BOMBS" by Bill Whittle which is published on the May 1, 2009 on pajamasmedia com (it's a ~16 Min video plus written comments & discussions).
I wish there were more docs focusing on the rebuilding, recovery, and positive notes of co-operation and hope rather than death, doom and blame. And I really wish that certain individual's would stop deluding themselves that what happened was somehow morally right or even necessary. Nobody emerged for the chaos of WWII lily white, and every Country should hold responsibility for the part it played, and take the lessons to heart. How can you learn if u refuse the responsibility of ur actions?
* hiroshima (it was the j-govt's fault that this happened) nagasaki (it was the j-govt's fault that this happened) fukushima (THREE LEVEL SEVENS) tokaimura (LEVEL FOUR) All of the above are the fault of the j-govt yet they don't apologize and even try to divert attention away from their neglect.
For shame. And yet many japanese still blindly follow their j-govt. Sad.
This was a time when America did not look at anyone who wasn't white as a person, and even some white people, like polish, irish, and germans, were looked down on. Equality is still rather new concept worldwide.
I feel fucking bad for you people who think this was the right choice, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor killing soldiers, America striked back dropping a nuclear atomic bomb killing million of innocent, i hope all of you who think this was the right choice dies of cancer or starve to death, maybe both so you can experience how terrible a single day in Hiroshima for a common child.
Millions of unknowing and innocent lives, gone in the blink of an eye.
8,000 Australian and Dutch POWs died in Tarsau, Thailand.
Comfort women mostly from Korea and China, also Philippines, Taiwan, Burma, the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), Netherlands, and Australia were forced into sexual slavery in frontline Comfort Stations in China, Indochina and Indonesia.
Cannibalism in many parts of Asia and the Pacific against POWs, e.g. Chichi Jima and Bonin Islands, in some cases, flesh was cut from living people.
Widespread looting in occupied territories (valuable goods from banks, depositories, temples, churches, mosques, museums, businesses, private homes, etc.) was organized on a massive scale by official secret organization called Kin no yuri (Golden Lily) headed by Chichibu, Hirohito’s brother.
Mass raped by Japanese soldiers in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, where some victims were pre-menstruating girls.
Between November 1944 and April 1945, Japan launched over 9,300 balloon bombs (or Fu-Go) to attack US and Canada. One bomb killed a woman and 5 children in south Oregon.
A tacit order from Hirohito to execute all Chinese POWs before the surrender of Japan, out of thousands of Chinese POWs, only 56 survived; and to eliminate evidences, all surviving human test subjects in Japanese Army’s chemical and biological research units were executed before the surrender of Japan.
Thousands of POWs and captured civilians were transported to Japan, Taiwan, Indochina, Manchuria, or Korea to be used as forced labor perished in Hell ships such as Oryoku Maru, Junyo Maru, Dainichi Maru, Arisan Maru, and many more.
Only 52,000 of the 270,000 Javanese forced laborers being sent to other Japanese held areas survived after WWII, a death rate of 80%.
Most victims of the human experimentations were Chinese, also American, British, Australian and Russian POWs.
At least six different chemical and biological attacks were conducted in China, such as Changde chemical and biological weapon attack in Hunan, and twice Kaimingjie germ weapon attacks in Zhejiang, chemical weapons attack in Battle of Wuhan and Battle of Zaoyang-Yichang.
Cyanide gas was tested on Australian and Dutch POWs on Kai Islands of Indonesia.
Various Japanese Army Units (100, 200, 516, 543, 731, 773, 1644, 1855, 2646, 8604, 9420) researched and developed chemical (potassium cyanide, phosgene, chlorine, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic trichloride, sulfer mustard, lewisite etc.) and biological (anthrax, glanders, rusts, bubonic plague, typhoid, typhus, cholera, smallpox, botulism, tuberculosis, malaria, etc.) weapons, and conducted lethal human experimentations on the general population in Japanese occupied territories.
The Three Alls Policy (Kill all, Burn all, Loot all) sanctioned by Hirohito was to massacre an entire village if they suspected an enemy hiding in the village, such as the Panjiayu Massacre in Hebei, China.
More than 100,000 civilians and POWs died in the construction of the Death Railway (or Thailand-Burma Railway), especially at Hellfire Pass.
After March 20, 1943, the Japanese Navy was under orders to execute all POWs taken at sea.
• Manila Massacre in Manila, Philippines • Nanking Massacre in Nanking, China • Palawan Massacre in Palawan, Philippinnes • Parit Sulong Massacre in Johor, Malaysia • Sandakan Death Marches in Borneo, Indonesia • Sook Ching Massacre in Singapore • SS Tjisalak Massacre by Japanese submarine I-8 • Terror Bombing of Chongqing, China • Tol Plantation Massacre in Australian Territory of New Guinea • Wake Island Massacre in North Pacific Ocean • Hsuchow (Xuzhou) Massacre in Jiangsu, China
The Americans say they were attacked in pearl harbor!! The islands historically are JAPANESE and were occupied. So, we peace lovers would start lunching a yearly DAY OF GRIEF world wide. Hoping that America not think again of killing other people and nations in the future. August 6 is the day.
I don't give a shit about the Japanese who died at Hiroshima and Nagasaki nor those who died in the firebombing of Toyko or Dresden. They all deserved it and more! Those evil bastards sowed the wind and they reaped the whirlwind.
@Kellox17 Bullshit! Not only did nuking Japan save tens of thousands of American lives that would have been lost in the invasion of Japan, it also saved probably another 10 - 20 million lives around the world that would have been lost in the otherwise inevitable war with Russia and China following the defeat of the Axis powers.
Japs sold Jap women to US occupiers, US GIs in Japan. Japan set up a prostitution system for American GIs in occupied Japan, colony of the US. Tens of thousands of women were employed to provide cheap sex to U.S. troops until the spring of 1946, when Gen. Douglas MacArthur shut the brothels down.
With 2 bombs, the US killed 130,000 innocent Japs and saved MILLIONS of innocent Asians and many Americans lives from the DEVIL japan empire. It was the BEST decision in the 20th century. Atomic bomb should be developed 5 years earlier and used right after the Pearl Harbor.
When America nuked the two Japanese cities they killed 140,000+ innocent people. Another 2 million died in the next 5 years. They have bombed civilians of
We don't owe Japan an apology. We did them a favor by nuking them. Like some one said the Jap gvt had mobilized the civilians from adults down to children to resist an American invasion. That makes them enemy combatants according to the Geneva Convention and International Law. They would be considered Civilian Militia.
Had we invaded we would have bombed them to extinction. That is not our way.
The nuke was merciful compared to full scale invasion . Japan wants an apology? Japan, fuck you.
America is the biggest terrorist in the world ... they killed millions of people in this attack including childern, women and eldery for no reason yet they accused alQeada for 9/11 while they are the biggest terrorist themselve.
Great extended version of song, but i missed the voiceover bit that was at the end of the original. Is this the best Hiroahima song ever written? Anyone know any other good ones?
The sad and funny thing about FUKUSHIMA is that the mind controlling j-govt will not allow the j-people to dwell on the faults of the j-govt and TEPCO.
The sad and funny thing about FUKUSHIMA is that the mind controlling j-govt will not allow the j-people to dwell on the faults of the j-govt and TEPCO.
The United States will be judged for the mass murder of the babies, little children, old people..somewhere down the line, some country will bust our ass open and then we will take the time to ponder how we treated the world. Amen.
AND SO WILL JAPAN, YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE. During the 14 years Japan was on rampage, it slaughtered some 20,000,000 Asians: sick medical experiments (Unit 731), bayonet catching contests with Chinese babies thrown into the air; sick, whacked out shit. Japan got what they deserved. I only regret the death of SOME innocent civilians, though Japan''s war effort even included children. FUCK YOU YOU JUDGMENTAL LPIECE OF SHIT. The fucking Japs started it on their terms; we ended on ours
Japan started that ball rolling long before Pearl Harbor. Yep. War sucks. But all you US haters (Who hate ANYTHING the US does or doesn't do.) ask yourselves what Japan or Nazi Germany would have done if they developed the A bomb first. Oh, and FYI, Japan never had radar to detect incoming planes as they were trying to turn that technology into a death ray...
@tubernation1 Germany had a nuke, just didn't have a plane big enough to carry it. Thats nat all they had either, Geramny had the greatest Scientists in the world, and after the War were snapped up by whoesver could get hold of them.
@tubernation1 History channel. Tones of interesting documentrys. Man the Nazis were using tech beyond imagination. I also see an interesting documnetry Ancient Aliens, but it was about the Nazis and had interviews with people about what they tried to create, and some of the weapons they intended to unleash. Even some of them they believed Hitler din't know about. Its is true if USA didn't join the war we would have been destroed, they would of took Europe then moved on to USA.
the japanese atack the american military port...not civilians.....shame u.s.a. ....u killed inocent people in hiroshima and nagasaki....chikens american....and i m not japanese or asian...i m from europe....all of those facts will return on u
Have you heard of the Rape of Nanking or the Bataan Death March? It's horrible that a brainwashed population who would have killed hundreds of thousands of our soldiers had to suffer such horrific losses, but how many more civilians would have died during the inevitable invasion of the Japan's homeland? You're right that America will suffer for her mistakes and immoral actions, but Hiroshima and Nagasaki don't fall into that category.
If anyone wants proof that the bombing of Hiroshima was necessary for ending the war, they need look no further than the bombing of Nagasaki. It took TWO atomic bombs for the brainwashed cultists to surrender, and this after the Japanese war effort had effectively been neutralized and the city of Tokyo had been fire bombed into effective oblivion.
@hpd707 Try and justify the disgusting acts of the past all you want. The truth is there is NEVER EVER ANY reason to kill women and children. The truth is that all of Japan's allys were defeated and they were being pushed backwards every day. the War would have been over in a year. there was no need to ever drop these bombs with the sole purpose of killing as many civilians as possible. It makes me sick you think this is OK.
@Bikertothemax1 America does not have to justify anything to anybody. It was war, not a pillow fight. America did not start World War II, Japan did in the middle of peace talks with the United States by attacking Pearl Harbor and turning what was an European war into a world war. The free world was not happy about Japan's atrocities in China and all over the pacific, including killing Americans, British, Australians and Filipino POW'S just for the hell of it in the Bataan Death March. Wake up.
@americanhellcatf6 So the Japanese soilders did atrocities and you decide to vapourise their civilians? Their women and children?? and you think this is OK?! two wrongs makes a right?? that kind of 3 year old logic? It wasnt dropped on a military base it wasnt dropped on their massive fleets of warships it was drop WITH THE ONE PURPOSE TO KILL AS MANY CIVILIANS AS POSSIBLE. disgusting... why dont YOU wake up and realise the most horrific thing of the war was done by the "good guys"
@Bikertothemax1 What is it with this younger generation who feels they need to rewrite history just to suit it to their liking? The atomic bombs killed thousands and ended the war. An invasion of Japan would have killed millions on both sides. So killing millions is a better idea to you? There were Australians who died fighting the Japanese to save future generations like yours. Quit degrading their memory and be glad they did that or you would not be here. Just shut up and go away, fool.
@americanhellcatf6 All im saying is that the bomb could have been dropped on a military base or even on their massive fleets or warships. Why on a city packed full of civilians? Oh right because thats exactly what the Americans were going for. Massive civilian deaths. Its funny you condem the Nazis for killing off innocent Jews but you killed more innocent Japanese then the Germans ever did.
@Bikertothemax1 The Nazis murdered 6 million Jews and the Japanese murdered 3 million Chinese. The atomic bombs killed thousands and that makes America on the same level as the Nazis? There is a difference between killing and mudering, son. Your sense of logic and history is faulty. The Jews were not at war with the Nazis and simply mudered because they were Jews. Japan was at war with America and they were not killed simply because they were Japanese. You are drawing the wrong conclusion.
@Bikertothemax1 Hiroshima was not packed full of civilians. There had been mass evacuations well before the bombs ever dropped because of the military ordering the city to be destoyed for a possible American invasion coming. The factories and the railroad yards were still producing war materials for Japan. What massive fleet of warships? The Japanese navy was destroyed by 1945 and had nothing left. Defeat was on Japan's doorstep and they will still willing to fight to the death. Bombs ended war
@americanhellcatf6 Tibbets told Gen. Spaaz that he wasn't bothered about dropping the bomb on the US POW that they knew they were there. Nobody cared about them. You, neither. They quit only because of Emperor's broadcast. They were prepared to die whether by nuke or other means. BTW there were several BBs anchored not far away from Hiroshima Bay. They were out of fuel and used as static AA positions. You are very ignorant.
@cyphertek I am ignorant about World War II? I think not only an ignorant person would advocate an invasion of Japan and millions dying on both sides in a long struggle when you had a chance to end the most destructive war to mankind by dropping atomic bombs to force Japan to surrender and end the war, which saved Japanese and American lives who would have perished in an invasion.
@americanhellcatf6 At the time, the American calculation was that Japan would surrender by August 15th to avoid being swallowed by the Soviets after they invaded Manchuria on the 9th. That was wrong, of course, since the Russians rolled across Manchuria so fast the Japanese had to surrender on the 10th.
We continued bombing for 5 more days before accepting their surrender on the 15th. In the end, we met all the conditions the Japanese asked for in May, but we got to call it "unconditional".
@americanhellcatf6 Hahah you just said it your self. The Japanese navy was gone, they had nothing left. an invasion was coming... there was no need for these people to die. So you agree with Cicero that "An unjust peace is better than a just war."...
@Bikertothemax1 And these so called "Innocent civilians" as you call them worked in the factories making the bombs, bullets, tanks, airplanes for the purpose of killing American soldiers. And they were being trained to fight to the death against the Americans in the invasion that, thank god never took place. You are the one claiming they had massive fleets of warships, you choose to be ignorant about it. That's nobody problem but yours. Good day. I have better things to do.
@americanhellcatf6 of course they were making stuff!!! Thats what every country from Britian to Germany was doing durin the War. Doesn't mean you can label them as people that need to die. What your saying is that an American soldiers life is worth more then the life of an innocent Japanese civilian. Just remeber that these "crazed brainwashed Japs" only knew what their Government wanted them to know. They were told lie after lie and who was to tell them what was really going on?
@Goukeban We can thank the Allies for ending japan's heinously murderous war. Besides the j-govt trained j-civs to fight and kill the would be Allied invasion. Children were used as suicide bombers against Sherman tanks on Okinawa. Fact.
@superman19121976 Yeah, you're right. Japan never did anything bad in China, or Korea, or anything. They never hurt innocent civilians. You're so right. Why doesn't everyone listen to you.
people, face it. the United States was and arguably still is THE world SUPER POWER. Romans, Mongolians, and British did MUCH worse to the people they ruled over during their time. And no one gave a fuck or could say anything.
Record Group 77, Records of the Office of the Chief of Engineers, Manhattan Engineer District, TS Manhattan Project File (1945-05-26). "Minutes of the second meeting of the Target Committee". Retrieved 2005-08-06. "It was agreed that psychological factors in the target selection were of great importance.
@incaayoub Two aspects of this are (1) obtaining the greatest psychological effect against Japan and (2) making the initial use sufficiently spectacular for the importance of the weapon to be internationally recognized when publicity on it is released. B. In this respect Kyoto has the advantage of the people being more highly intelligent and hence better able to appreciate the significance of the weapon.
@incaayoub Hiroshima has the advantage of being such a size and with possible focussing from nearby mountains that a large fraction of the city may be destroyed. The Emperor's palace in Tokyo has a greater fame than any other target but is of least strategic value."
This is for all who are naive and ignorant enough to believe excuses by the Government
Shame on all those who are justifying this massacre. It is because of people like you that the nuclear threat is still possible even today. No one deserves to die in this way and shame on you for believing the excuses given by your government behind this hell on earth. It is because of your ignorance that Iraq and Afghanistan were possible, that Palestinians are being exterminated and that Nicaragua was terrorized
@quarterexchange You're justifying Hiroshima and Nagasaki because your government 'would have been forced to invade and killed millions'. And you're justifying the horrors in the Middle East because of 'our oil interests'.
Do you still wonder why worldwide public opinion of the United States of America is so low?
War and the aftermath alwasy perplexes me. The pilot Paul something is sort of hero but had the US lost the war he would have been considered a war criminal. His bomb killed over 100k women and children. History is written by the victors but death is death. You can spin it anyway you like but it is what it is. Germans would say Jews were taking their wealth away so they had to be punished. Americans say Japan attacked first so the atomic bomb is justified. IT is what it is.
@TheTimmydukes japan bombed a military base, pearl harbour, america bombed 2 jap cities full of innocent people. How can u take credit for killing innocent people.you didnt like 911,you done 100 911s in japan.hang your head,in shame u cowards.Your gutless and cowardess. The world knows that.America is doing the same in iraq.We all know its for the oil.you cant lie,the worlds not thick.just america. The most dishonest country and people in the world. You live and die for money.Your trash.
@137627947 Japan went on a murderous rampage from 1931 to 1945 that killed some 20,000,000+ Asians. And they committed sick demented war crimes, like throwing babies in the air in a bayonet catching contest during the rape of Nanking, burning prisoners to death underground with gasoline, beheadings, injecting prisoners with diseases in Unit 731 The war dragged for years killing 6,000 a day on average; the A bomb ended the slaughter and saved millions as it eliminated the need for invasion.
@DontBuyChinese All sides committed atrocities. All of em, let me give you some example:
The Bombing of Dresden: 200k casualties, mostly civilians.
Canicattì massacre: civilians murdered when the town surrendered
Biscari massacre: murder and execution of unarmed Italian POW's.
Dachau massacre: more executions of unarmed POW's
And don't get me going about the Soviet war crimes or we'll be here for ages, all sides committed atrocities.. what if an atomic bomb was dropped on NY
@DontBuyChinese Using the same justification? Not all sides committed war crimes, that did mean a bomb should of being dropped on populated centers miles away from any military presence.
In the case of the US and Japan, it was Japan that started a war of conquest for raw materials in SE Asia that
eventually resulted in the deaths of some 20,000,000 civilians. Read my blog above. You can argue until you are blue in the face, but the A Bomb, as horrible as it was, put an end to the slaughter the JAPANESE initiated, not the US. Let's get the facts straight. It's unfortunate civilians died, but they partipated in war effort in Japan
@DontBuyChinese I'm not arguing on who started the war. I'm saying that only civilians suffer in the end, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were population centers. The worthwhile military targets were miles out in the country side. Also using the resources argument how about Iraq right?
Obviously the only reason to invade said country was for oil and thus resulting in the death of nearly 100k-200k civilians.. what if extremists denoted a nuke in a heavily populated American city using that justification?
Yes, unfortunately civilians do suffer, if virtually every war. I don't really think Iraq was about oil. In fact, the US doesn't control any of Iraq's oil refining capability. Afghanistan isn't known for oil, yet the US is there, so I think you are off-base about Iraq being about oil. The US viewed Iraq and Afghanistan as terrorist havens and training camps, which if why the US went in. WW2 was about resources that Japan wanted as it was
@Dimensionaluk Both targets were military targets that would have been subjected to conventional bombings if we didn't have the atomic bombs. Hiroshima had military supply depots, was the headquarters for the Second Army and Chugoku Regional Army and the Army Marine Headquarters were located there. Nagasaki contained important military industry that would have been necessary to destroy for a successful campaign.
@hunterkiller232134 conventional bombing means bombing military facilities. Nuclear warfare means killing hundreds of thousands of innocent bystanders. THAT's the difference
@yomama629 Ah, no. A conventional bomb is non-nuclear and that's it. The two atomic bombs killed ~300,000 people. The conventional bombing of Tokyo killed more than that, say nothing of the bombing campaigns of the entire war. WWII era strategic bombing was not a precision affair. You plastered the target area with as many bombs as possible. People died. The atomic bombs were a logical extension of that strategy, at the time.
@hunterkiller232134 I wonder where you find your "facts". The US bombed factories in Tokyo, not residential areas. No way it could have killed 300,000. Nuclear warfare is indiscriminate bombing, it doesn't just affect military and tactical targets, but civilian population
@yomama629 The bombings targeted industry, but it's well known that the firebombing of Tokyo took more lives than the atomic bombs. It's impossible to be accurate with a bomb dropped from the bottom of a plane, and the margin of accuracy in WWII was around ten miles.
@yomama629 Conventiional bombing in ww2 meant bombing residential areas. The cities themselves were the targets. not miliatry facilities. It was called fire bombing of cities, look it up.
@DontBuyChinese it may be True that the Japanease commited unforgiveable War crimes. but really did the Civilians deserve it? They where innocent in Japan as they payed for the soilders crimes in death as a bomb dropped inflicting minor deaths [compared to the full army] in the rank of the army if they where targeting the Soilders they would trully strike a milatary Target. not a peaceful town which had done nothing wrong and was unaware of the things occuring around them
You are misinformed. The Japanese used children in their war effort; they used children in war plants and home cottage factories. Now, don't get me wrong, I feel very sorry about the death of civilians in any war, but you must understand that Japan was harnessing every available resource they had: children, women, old men included. Some children may not have understood what they were doing but nonetheless. Also, Hiroshima WAS a military target.
@DontBuyChinese yes but if you read there was a few hospitals and Civillian Houseing Areas in the Range of Hiroshima which will be affected for years.... also i agree that it saved millions but really no human being Deserves to be crushed by attomic rays and ultimatly killed in a horrible way some still live but with high levels are radition and indure pain all the time and so will there children as they grow up through life as the radition will affect them to
@DontBuyChinese yes but if you read there was a few hospitals and Civillian Houseing Areas in the Range of Hiroshima which will be affected for years.... also i agree that it saved millions but really no human being Deserves to be crushed by attomic rays and ultimatly killed in a horrible way some still live but with high levels are radition and indure pain all the time and so will there children as they grow up through life as the radition will affect them too and there children for years!
Good points you make. If you read the text of General MacArthur's speech on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay in 1945 you will see that he called war "the most malignant scourge and greatest sin of mankind". He said that if we do not devise some more equitable way to settle international disputes then "armageddon willl be at our door". He hated war. The irony of the atomic bombings is that the Japanese had to be shocked into surrender.
@DontBuyChinese i think that about's about all we can say about this but i can agree that the consequences of Atomic Bombing left Japan in shock and they would not fight America but all in all it was a bad event with good Sides aswell
The real only good thing that can be said was that Japan outlawed military control of its government and adopted a constitution and became democratic. The cost of that war to the Japan people was horrific, but from the ashes came a very prosperous nation that is now a strong US ally and generally a force for good.
@DontBuyChinese yeah i can agree on that one i think bombing for the USA was the last resort as They did take pearl harbor and went on a Killing spree
@DontBuyChinese yeah i can agree on that one i think bombing for the USA was the last resort as They did take pearl harbour and went on a Killing spree
The real only good thing that can be said was that Japan outlawed military control of its government and adopted a constitution and became democratic. The cost of that war to the Japaese people was horrific, but from the ashes came a very prosperous nation that is now a strong US ally and generally a force for good.
Your opinions are the result of your ignorance of what happened in that war. Japan was a SICK nation in WW2; it slaughtered 20,000,000 Asians over a 14 year period; many in sick, demented ways such as Unit 731 and during the Rape of Nanking, bayonet catching contests with infants. Go fuck yourself you ignorant asshole; and I'm not American, in case you are wondering.
Killing innocent civilians, women and children, to win a war, that is indeed a crime, and japanese government didn't do that to themself, american one did.
@Ecorce02 Kokumin Giyu Sentotai. They were the main j-civilian militia reserve along the second line of defense. They were to fight along side the regular j-military.
There were few "innocent" women and children in WW2 Japan. If you will read up, you will discover that Japan had mobilized its ENTIRE POPULATION to attempt to stop a US invasion. Japan women and children produced war goods in home cottage factories. I feel sorry for loss of children who don't understand the implications of their efforts in a war. The bomb ended years and years of killing which averaged 6,000 people
P.S america would have lost more than half million troops if they entered main island of japan and tokyo. but still Japan would have lost because soviet union captured manjuria and they would not say no to claim more lands.
Its their tradition to fight till last + appearence and suicide banzai attacks doesnt make them like barbarians. remember samurai at least. Japan surrendered beecause 3rd a-bomb was going to be thrown on Tokyo. Still its such a coward way to use a-bombs on less important cityes(notice 1 was simple port, 2nd not military city) just to show to world your new weapon and fastly end war.
@onigoroshi442 hmm than using a-bombs is so pointless. this proofs that usa tested his new weapon and tryed to frighten world with it at least soviet union if not world.
Still it is a fact, even americans said that they could lose much more troops on main island, more than anywhere else.
@onigoroshi442 Japan din't hesitate to kill Americans, Singaporeans, Chinese, Koreans, Phillipinos and so on. Japan was a killing machine which, thank God, America smashed. If you read history, you would know this
@onigoroshi442 DAMN RIGHT! Of course Japan killed over TEN MILLION Chinese civilians and millions more in Indonesia & Vietnam- no J attempts to portray themselves as victims are disingenuous, to say the least.
@kentamitchell If you say that will justifies killing millions of Japanese, world has the right to kill the entire population living in the US looking back to its bloody history of killing, enslaving, and bring war and confusion among innocent peoples from all over the world, starting from the whole mass slaughter of native Americans to current war in the Middle East. Have you ever thought why people don't do that? Because your logic is so juvenile, unintelligent, frantic, and destructive.
@onigoroshi442 ENSLAVING? America eliminated slavery in 1865. Japan forces used slave labor wherever they went.
That is one reason why Truman declared the day he took office that the Japanese were not to be exterminated as a race or enslaved as a people- many Japanese feared that the Allies would treat the Japanese would treat them the way they treated everyone else.
@onigoroshi442 LMFAO! "native Americans" are doing FAR better than their cousins in Siberia and south of the Rio Grande. What do you call a native American surrounded by 50 white guys? A casino owner.
@kentamitchell A fanatic American nationalist used to hunt Japanese POWs for fun and boiled their head to make a souvenir would've said the same thing as you did.
African Americans were regally segregated and Japanese Americans' assets were confiscated and people were thrown into concentration camps. Very convincing.
No wonder native American people I met won't get tired of talking about white men. If only they were still alive, so they could all enjoy their luxurious casino owners' lifestyle.
@onigoroshi442 Pfft. Typical mindless j-male j-hole. Let's talk to the JOMON people about what you filthy js did to them. OH THAT'S RIGHT! THEY DON'T EXIST ANYMORE because you filthy js totally and completely wiped them out. That was your first genocide. Your second attempt was on the Chinese and Koreans and your current third attempt is now on the AINU AND RYUKUANS (OKINAWANS).
Your typical disgusting j hypocrisy knows no bounnds.
@howiseethings Whaaat, now that is a crazy talk. Yamato-race is a race with fair mix of Jomon and Yayoi race, and when did I talk about Ainu people? And Ryukyu? Royal Family of Ryukyu became Kazoku (exalted families) of Japan, and same with Korea. Korea was under China's control until Japan fought her and liberate them anyway. Let me ask you this. After Japan got defeated, after Japan withdrew all of her army from Asia, what happened in China? Taiwan? Korea? East Turkestan? Xinjiang? TIbet?
@onigoroshi442 Pfft. Typical mindless j-male j-hole. Let's talk to the JOMON people about what you filthy js did to them. OH THAT'S RIGHT!

The most ultimate act of terror in the entire history of the humanity - dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki - has ben carried out by the most cruel, smelly scum of the humanity - the Americans
badur77 1 month ago
Japan was about to chuck the towel in anyway. If newsreel of the Mexican bomb tests had been relayed with a warning, Hiroshima and Nagasaki would still be average towns. Normally named towns without any atrocity attached. A barbaric act....and the barbarism continues ad nauseum ad infinitum
Rikk303 2 months ago
@Rikk303 I don't agree that they were ready to throw in the towel. I know some historians argue that, but if you read the intelligence, it was confusion. Some members of the Japanese government wanted to negotiate surrender with Russia. Others were ready to fight to death. Even after two bombs were dropped, some were unwilling to surrender. I think the bombing was terrible, but it made more sense than invasion. I lived in Hiroshima for 2 years.
ellethekitty 2 months ago
@ellethekitty yeah I know. Surrender, to the Japanese is considered to be the ultimate humiliation...a fate worse than death. I just thought that a preview of a fate worse than a fate worse than death might have kept a lot of souls alive had the Japanese Government seen the capabilities of a nuclear event. I know it ended the war in its' tracks...maybe it's hindsight that repulses me. Maybe I'm an idiot that's enjoying a certain peace as a result but nuking innocents can never be justified

A Wise man once said if you stand next to the enemy you might get caught in the crossfire. In a perfect world was this the right thing to do?Some say no but at the end of the day, Hiroshima occured during a LEGALLY declared war between Japan and the USA that was INITIATED by the JAPANESE in their strike against Pearl Harbor.Furthermore, the bombs SAVED lives(American& Japanese)since it forced the Japanese to surrender after their Emperor had ordered civilians armed to repell a land invasion.

We don't owe Japan an apology. We did them a favor by nuking them. Like some one said the Jap gvt had mobilized the civilians from adults down to children to resist an American invasion. That makes them enemy combatants according to the Geneva Convention and International Law. They would be considered Civilian Militia.
Had we invaded we would have bombed them to extinction. That is not our way.

Have you heard of the Rape of Nanking or the Bataan Death March? It's horrible that a brainwashed population who would have killed hundreds of thousands of our soldiers had to suffer such horrific losses, but how many more civilians would have died during the inevitable invasion of the Japan's homeland? You're right that America will suffer for her mistakes and immoral actions, but Hiroshima and Nagasaki don't fall into that category.
hpd707 11 months ago
@superman19121976
If anyone wants proof that the bombing of Hiroshima was necessary for ending the war, they need look no further than the bombing of Nagasaki. It took TWO atomic bombs for the brainwashed cultists to surrender, and this after the Japanese war effort had effectively been neutralized and the city of Tokyo had been fire bombed into effective oblivion.
hpd707 11 months ago
@hpd707 Try and justify the disgusting acts of the past all you want. The truth is there is NEVER EVER ANY reason to kill women and children. The truth is that all of Japan's allys were defeated and they were being pushed backwards every day. the War would have been over in a year. there was no need to ever drop these bombs with the sole purpose of killing as many civilians as possible. It makes me sick you think this is OK.
Bikertothemax1 7 months ago
@Bikertothemax1 America does not have to justify anything to anybody. It was war, not a pillow fight. America did not start World War II, Japan did in the middle of peace talks with the United States by attacking Pearl Harbor and turning what was an European war into a world war. The free world was not happy about Japan's atrocities in China and all over the pacific, including killing Americans, British, Australians and Filipino POW'S just for the hell of it in the Bataan Death March. Wake up.
americanhellcatf6 7 months ago
@americanhellcatf6 So the Japanese soilders did atrocities and you decide to vapourise their civilians? Their women and children?? and you think this is OK?! two wrongs makes a right?? that kind of 3 year old logic? It wasnt dropped on a military base it wasnt dropped on their massive fleets of warships it was drop WITH THE ONE PURPOSE TO KILL AS MANY CIVILIANS AS POSSIBLE. disgusting... why dont YOU wake up and realise the most horrific thing of the war was done by the "good guys"
Bikertothemax1 7 months ago
@Bikertothemax1 What is it with this younger generation who feels they need to rewrite history just to suit it to their liking? The atomic bombs killed thousands and ended the war. An invasion of Japan would have killed millions on both sides. So killing millions is a better idea to you? There were Australians who died fighting the Japanese to save future generations like yours. Quit degrading their memory and be glad they did that or you would not be here. Just shut up and go away, fool.
americanhellcatf6 7 months ago
@americanhellcatf6 All im saying is that the bomb could have been dropped on a military base or even on their massive fleets or warships. Why on a city packed full of civilians? Oh right because thats exactly what the Americans were going for. Massive civilian deaths. Its funny you condem the Nazis for killing off innocent Jews but you killed more innocent Japanese then the Germans ever did.
Bikertothemax1 7 months ago
@Bikertothemax1 The Nazis murdered 6 million Jews and the Japanese murdered 3 million Chinese. The atomic bombs killed thousands and that makes America on the same level as the Nazis? There is a difference between killing and mudering, son. Your sense of logic and history is faulty. The Jews were not at war with the Nazis and simply mudered because they were Jews. Japan was at war with America and they were not killed simply because they were Japanese. You are drawing the wrong conclusion.
americanhellcatf6 7 months ago
@Bikertothemax1 Hiroshima was not packed full of civilians. There had been mass evacuations well before the bombs ever dropped because of the military ordering the city to be destoyed for a possible American invasion coming. The factories and the railroad yards were still producing war materials for Japan. What massive fleet of warships? The Japanese navy was destroyed by 1945 and had nothing left. Defeat was on Japan's doorstep and they will still willing to fight to the death. Bombs ended war
americanhellcatf6 7 months ago
@americanhellcatf6 Tibbets told Gen. Spaaz that he wasn't bothered about dropping the bomb on the US POW that they knew they were there. Nobody cared about them. You, neither. They quit only because of Emperor's broadcast. They were prepared to die whether by nuke or other means. BTW there were several BBs anchored not far away from Hiroshima Bay. They were out of fuel and used as static AA positions. You are very ignorant.
cyphertek 7 months ago
@cyphertek I am ignorant about World War II? I think not only an ignorant person would advocate an invasion of Japan and millions dying on both sides in a long struggle when you had a chance to end the most destructive war to mankind by dropping atomic bombs to force Japan to surrender and end the war, which saved Japanese and American lives who would have perished in an invasion.
americanhellcatf6 7 months ago
@americanhellcatf6 At the time, the American calculation was that Japan would surrender by August 15th to avoid being swallowed by the Soviets after they invaded Manchuria on the 9th. That was wrong, of course, since the Russians rolled across Manchuria so fast the Japanese had to surrender on the 10th.
We continued bombing for 5 more days before accepting their surrender on the 15th. In the end, we met all the conditions the Japanese asked for in May, but we got to call it "unconditional".
Hikikomori013 6 months ago
@americanhellcatf6 Hahah you just said it your self. The Japanese navy was gone, they had nothing left. an invasion was coming... there was no need for these people to die. So you agree with Cicero that "An unjust peace is better than a just war."...
Bikertothemax1 7 months ago
@Bikertothemax1 And these so called "Innocent civilians" as you call them worked in the factories making the bombs, bullets, tanks, airplanes for the purpose of killing American soldiers. And they were being trained to fight to the death against the Americans in the invasion that, thank god never took place. You are the one claiming they had massive fleets of warships, you choose to be ignorant about it. That's nobody problem but yours. Good day. I have better things to do.
americanhellcatf6 7 months ago
@americanhellcatf6 of course they were making stuff!!! Thats what every country from Britian to Germany was doing durin the War. Doesn't mean you can label them as people that need to die. What your saying is that an American soldiers life is worth more then the life of an innocent Japanese civilian. Just remeber that these "crazed brainwashed Japs" only knew what their Government wanted them to know. They were told lie after lie and who was to tell them what was really going on?

people, face it. the United States was and arguably still is THE world SUPER POWER.

"It was agreed that psychological factors in the target selection were of great importance.
incaayoub 11 months ago
@incaayoub Two aspects of this are (1) obtaining the greatest psychological effect against Japan and (2) making the initial use sufficiently spectacular for the importance of the weapon to be internationally recognized when publicity on it is released. B. In this respect Kyoto has the advantage of the people being more highly intelligent and hence better able to appreciate the significance of the weapon.
incaayoub 11 months ago
@incaayoub Hiroshima has the advantage of being such a size and with possible focussing from nearby mountains that a large fraction of the city may be destroyed. The Emperor's palace in Tokyo has a greater fame than any other target but is of least strategic value."
This is for all who are naive and ignorant enough to believe excuses by the Government
incaayoub 11 months ago
Shame on all those who are justifying this massacre. It is because of people like you that the nuclear threat is still possible even today. No one deserves to die in this way and shame on you for believing the excuses given by your government behind this hell on earth. It is because of your ignorance that Iraq and Afghanistan were possible, that Palestinians are being exterminated and that Nicaragua was terrorized
incaayoub 11 months ago
@quarterexchange You're justifying Hiroshima and Nagasaki because your government 'would have been forced to invade and killed millions'. And you're justifying the horrors in the Middle East because of 'our oil interests'.
Do you still wonder why worldwide public opinion of the United States of America is so low?
incaayoub 11 months ago
Seriously, what is this?
"Stupid Japanese people D:< I hate them because select FEW of them within GOVERNMENT made an entire civilization look bad."
Incase you haven't realized, Government is the focal point of ALL the world's issues.
You can't blame a group of people - epecially not with a tyrant/ communist government... Blame the Government.
And this is why we need to think for our own, this is the reason... We need an Anarchy.

@137627947 The "innocent people" you speak of were trained by the j-leaders to fight and kill the would be Allied invasion. They were soldiers. Fact.
howiseethings 1 year ago
@137627947 Japan went on a murderous rampage from 1931 to 1945 that killed some 20,000,000+ Asians. And they committed sick demented war crimes, like throwing babies in the air in a bayonet catching contest during the rape of Nanking, burning prisoners to death underground with gasoline, beheadings, injecting prisoners with diseases in Unit 731 The war dragged for years killing 6,000 a day on average; the A bomb ended the slaughter and saved millions as it eliminated the need for invasion.
DontBuyChinese 1 year ago 18
@DontBuyChinese All sides committed atrocities. All of em, let me give you some example:
The Bombing of Dresden: 200k casualties, mostly civilians.
Canicattì massacre: civilians murdered when the town surrendered
Biscari massacre: murder and execution of unarmed Italian POW's.
Dachau massacre: more executions of unarmed POW's
And don't get me going about the Soviet war crimes or we'll be here for ages, all sides committed atrocities.. what if an atomic bomb was dropped on NY
Dimensionaluk 10 months ago
@DontBuyChinese Using the same justification? Not all sides committed war crimes, that did mean a bomb should of being dropped on populated centers miles away from any military presence.
Dimensionaluk 10 months ago
@Dimensionaluk
It's unfortunate civilians died, but they partipated in war effort in Japan
also in cottage factories.
DontBuyChinese 10 months ago
@DontBuyChinese I'm not arguing on who started the war. I'm saying that only civilians suffer in the end, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were population centers. The worthwhile military targets were miles out in the country side. Also using the resources argument how about Iraq right?
Obviously the only reason to invade said country was for oil and thus resulting in the death of nearly 100k-200k civilians.. what if extremists denoted a nuke in a heavily populated American city using that justification?
Dimensionaluk 10 months ago
@Dimensionaluk
WW2 was about resources that Japan wanted as it was
resource-poor.
DontBuyChinese 10 months ago
@DontBuyChinese For that matter the US can more oil than Iraq could produce much more easily than going to war for it.
hunterkiller232134 10 months ago
@Dimensionaluk Both targets were military targets that would have been subjected to conventional bombings if we didn't have the atomic bombs. Hiroshima had military supply depots, was the headquarters for the Second Army and Chugoku Regional Army and the Army Marine Headquarters were located there. Nagasaki contained important military industry that would have been necessary to destroy for a successful campaign.
hunterkiller232134 10 months ago
@hunterkiller232134 conventional bombing means bombing military facilities. Nuclear warfare means killing hundreds of thousands of innocent bystanders. THAT's the difference
yomama629 9 months ago
@yomama629 Ah, no. A conventional bomb is non-nuclear and that's it. The two atomic bombs killed ~300,000 people. The conventional bombing of Tokyo killed more than that, say nothing of the bombing campaigns of the entire war. WWII era strategic bombing was not a precision affair. You plastered the target area with as many bombs as possible. People died. The atomic bombs were a logical extension of that strategy, at the time.
hunterkiller232134 9 months ago
@hunterkiller232134 I wonder where you find your "facts". The US bombed factories in Tokyo, not residential areas. No way it could have killed 300,000. Nuclear warfare is indiscriminate bombing, it doesn't just affect military and tactical targets, but civilian population
yomama629 9 months ago
@yomama629 The bombings targeted industry, but it's well known that the firebombing of Tokyo took more lives than the atomic bombs. It's impossible to be accurate with a bomb dropped from the bottom of a plane, and the margin of accuracy in WWII was around ten miles.
hunterkiller232134 9 months ago
@yomama629 Conventiional bombing in ww2 meant bombing residential areas. The cities themselves were the targets. not miliatry facilities. It was called fire bombing of cities, look it up.

@DontBuyChinese poor ignorant, do you really believe such a propaganda? lol
and why dont you recognize the atom bomb as a MASSACRE? Is that just a different of means to kill PEOPLE?
knowledgetoact 9 months ago
@DontBuyChinese maybe we should drop bombs right before wars just to eliminate the need for invasion.....you fucking pussy.
tito8512 9 months ago
@DontBuyChinese it may be True that the Japanease commited unforgiveable War crimes. but really did the Civilians deserve it? They where innocent in Japan as they payed for the soilders crimes in death as a bomb dropped inflicting minor deaths [compared to the full army] in the rank of the army if they where targeting the Soilders they would trully strike a milatary Target. not a peaceful town which had done nothing wrong and was unaware of the things occuring around them
tavola2000 8 months ago
@tavola2000

DontBuyChinese 8 months ago
@DontBuyChinese i think that about's about all we can say about this but i can agree that the consequences of Atomic Bombing left Japan in shock and they would not fight America but all in all it was a bad event with good Sides aswell

The real only good thing that can be said was that Japan outlawed military control of its government and adopted a constitution and became democratic. The cost of that war to the Japan people was horrific, but from the ashes came a very prosperous nation that is now a strong US ally and generally a force for good.

The bomb ended years and years of killing which averaged 6,000 people
per day.

P.S america would have lost more than half million troops if they entered main island of japan and tokyo. but still Japan would have lost because soviet union captured manjuria and they would not say no to claim more lands.
BekaZed 1 year ago
after all japan is way older than USA.
BekaZed 1 year ago
@BekaZed I suggest you read "Bombing of Tokyo" on Wikipedia.
onigoroshi442 1 year ago
@onigoroshi442 hmm than using a-bombs is so pointless. this proofs that usa tested his new weapon and tryed to frighten world with it at least soviet union if not world.
Still it is a fact, even americans said that they could lose much more troops on main island, more than anywhere else.
BekaZed 1 year ago
@BekaZed Problems is, US didn't hesitate to kill Japanese civilians in order to force Japan to accept unconditional surrender.
onigoroshi442 1 year ago
@onigoroshi442 Japan din't hesitate to kill Americans, Singaporeans, Chinese, Koreans, Phillipinos and so on. Japan was a killing machine which, thank God, America smashed. If you read history, you would know this

Because your logic is so juvenile, unintelligent, frantic, and destructive.
onigoroshi442 1 year ago
@onigoroshi442 ENSLAVING? America eliminated slavery in 1865. Japan forces used slave labor wherever they went.
That is one reason why Truman declared the day he took office that the Japanese were not to be exterminated as a race or enslaved as a people- many Japanese feared that the Allies would treat the Japanese would treat them the way they treated everyone else.
kentamitchell 1 year ago
@onigoroshi442 LMFAO! "native Americans" are doing FAR better than their cousins in Siberia and south of the Rio Grande. What do you call a native American surrounded by 50 white guys? A casino owner.
kentamitchell 1 year ago
@kentamitchell A fanatic American nationalist used to hunt Japanese POWs for fun and boiled their head to make a souvenir would've said the same thing as you did.
African Americans were regally segregated and Japanese Americans' assets were confiscated and people were thrown into concentration camps. Very convincing.
No wonder native American people I met won't get tired of talking about white men. If only they were still alive, so they could all enjoy their luxurious casino owners' lifestyle.

Xinjiang? TIbet?
