Priest has so many amazing songs, that for many are unknown. If you are a fan get everything, especially Rocka Rolla, Sad Wings, Sin after Sin, Stained Class, Hell Bent, and Unleashed, ok the 1st decade.
That's because at that very moment, he had it, he knew it, he was a fucking vocal god, with flawless ease, no strain AT ALL, he just stares at you so you know he is Halford
Gosh! This song is just Great!I have watch this video DOSENS of times within the last two months....it is just GREAT!It is just a beautifully made song.
I have to admit, this is Rob Halford at his best.=D If it wasn't for this song I never would've began singing. Too bad this is the only live recording of this song.=/
He said in the cosmos, is a single sonic sound, that is vibrating consistently, and if we could grip, and hold on to the note, we would see are minds were free... oh their free. Sounds pretty spiritual for a bunch of evil Satan worshipers that want to kill off all of their fans.
I think some people might have misunderstood the commented I posted here about a week ago now. I probably should have said: Sounds pretty spiritual for a bunch of supposedly evil Satan worshipers who supposedly want to kill off all of their fans. Besides, wouldn't that be major self sabotage? I mean seriously, think about that for a minute. Judas Priest are the greatest Heavy Metal band ever! No goofy witch hunts could ever change that.
yeah he picked up guitar by the time he was 20,but until then he played piano.and i guess that helps a lot, with the musical theory and also the dexterity
@peteg35 I agree! They did this song on every gig I've read, from 1974 to 1976. After that, it was dropped, as it took it's toll (believe it or not) on Halford's voice, to scream like that at the time. Great song nonetheless!
Merc your an idiot they are playing in a club in 1975. So what if it doesnt sound like the studio version it kicks ass and id like to kick yours. go away
This is my second posting. God!!! Old Priest!! Love it!! I can listen to my records, but to watch it is so much better. Thanks for the vid! Just listen to Rob...
I *LOVE* Captain Beyond... there used to be a great clip of them up here on YouTube ... like, over 10 minutes of Rod Price, Bobby Caldwell, and the boys just ROCKING like nobody's business.
yeah that's unfortunate, but i got hero hero when it was on vinyl, and record companies releasing 'greatest hits' type albums without the bands permission was standard fare then, and still is now. its part of the evil of the record industry. thank god mp3s came along and shut those pigs down for good. ;-)
you are aware thet "Hero Hero" is not recognized by the band themselves and it was just a way for Gull records to make money, right? This song originally came from Sad Wings of Destiny in 1975, not Hero Hero in the early 80s.

The most strange thing is why Glenn is so underrated guitarist. He picked up guitar for first time when he was 20...
Just amazing.

DTneedsroykhan 3 years ago 3
Halford is king
not as mutch high pitched screems as the album version but he still hits them perfect at the end.
