a real tribute to Frankie Howerd...its as camp as a row of tents...filled with inuendo but its not at all funny. - its more than that! ... its HILARIOUS! funest thing Ive seen in ages..... thank you BBC!

I have looked for Daniel Evans & Jenna Russell singing 'Move On' from Sondeims 80th B'day prom but cannot find it!! Any chance you can advise? Or upload? :-) Thanks.
I love the fact that the audience just didn't know it was coming... Their relish in singing is brilliant! I wish the opening of the Prom was on as well....
This is five minutes of pure delight. I've always loved 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' and this is the highlight of the show--for me, at least. Now, thanks to the Beeb we have this fabulous performance to rank alongside the film(with Zero Mostel) and the stage show(I saw it with Frankie Howerd in the lead role). Now I'm hoping that the BBC will release this whole Prom concert onto DVD or blu ray.
What I really like about this is that the orchestra members not playing seem to be really enjoying it as well. It's great. Cheers me up every time I watch it.
I've lost count of the number of times that I've watched this - a combination of the song, the orchestra, the fact that the singers are clearly having a ball and the deafening roar from the audience at the end. This was one of my dad's favourite songs from a musical and he would have loved this!
@winnconway They are Simon Russell Beale (guy with the beard), Daniel Evans (shaved head), Julian Ovenden (third guy to come on) and Bryn Terfel (the last to join).
Simon just had to stand there and the stage is his. wowww

<3 this the audience's reaction to the songs.
Daniel Evans is kind off over shadowed at first by Simon, but then he comes into his own, I actually find him quite attractive wrong I know!

daniel evans is a bit bland - great voice but doesn't have much personality and its so obvious next to Simon.

Daniel Evans' little leg lift at 3.02 utterly makes this for me. The performers are having such a great time, and it really shows :D

So glad I got tickets to this prom, it was one of the best nights I've had in ages!
Anyone who says Sondheim is too serious should be forced to sit down and watch this video!!
