  • Nobody wanted to stand-in against Gibson or Drysdale. Both were maniacs. Everybody liked Sandy and, while he would bean you, he wouldn't do it at top velocity like the other two.

Reggie, asshole, couldn't intimidate a paper bag. He should stick to criticizing dead managers, like Billy. It's safer.

  • Koufax was the greatest of his era, maybe of any era, and I am sure that rankles Gibson.

  • @RPenta Koufax most definitely had the best 4 years of any pitcher's career, but overall, Gibson was better, as his 1968 season is the best single season performance ever, and of course. he was dominant longer and played longer.

Would've been nice to see Koufax pitch 15-17 years though.

  • @KneeToTheDome Koufax had a straight-over the shoulder vertical delivery. Very few pitchers any more use it. It made his curveball (as Hank Aaron said) ...un-hit-able. But that is what probably wrecked his arm. I still have the black and white photo of him against the Twins in 1965 at the end of his delivery where he looks like he is two feet tall on the mound with his arm coming across the top of his ear. Just awesome. And that said, Bob Gibson was just as good if not better.

  • These clips of Reggie and Gibby are awesome. Thanks for putting them up :-)

  • @bluedolphin227 yea!!! I could listen to these guys talk for hours
