I would of thought the Focus would of been quicker but it is a heavy car.. having driven an OPC and an ST the ST definitely has much more power on the road.. more responsive and quicker in real life driving situations.

und bei Opel heisste OPC Opel Performance Center.

Bei Opel wird einfach immer wider darauf hingewiesen was die Ingenieure des OPC Centers geleistet haben also bla bla bla was bei Focus nicht gemacht wird!

Aber das Auto wird als Astra so gebaut und nicht bei einem speziellen Tuner (OPC) weitererarbeitet!

Das würde wohl zu teuer kommen.

For Volvo engine haters, I think the Ford guys chose the 2.5T L5 it very wisely. It has the power of a modern 2.0 - but its toughness is legendary (I know Volvos with a million km with this engine). Ford tests this engine like this - they set it to 6000 rpm and leave it running tor SIX WEEKS with no trouble. Where other engines have trouble catching their breath, this one just keeps cool.

I love all hot hatches, but the truth is only the Focus has the chassis that can handle a 200+HP engine well.

Astra OPC, Civic R, Clio Sport, Leon FR, Mazda MPS are all excellent cars, but share one flaw, their chassis is too weak for their engines. Golf GTI is an exception, it handles well, but 210HP is the limit for it, Focus ST has 220HP and plenty of headroom for more, and costs a lot less.

Some of them can beat the Focus in a drag race, but if the race had one turn, they are done for.
