  • I use ECS A785gm-m7 that supports ACC..i use amd phenom 960t be 3.0 ghz btw..i managed to unlock it to x6 but somehow when i started windows..(like another day) it freezes on the starting windows screen..and when i restart it goes back to x4...and weird thing is sometimes it appears x6 and some day later it turn x4 somebody knows any solution to this??

  • um anyone know why if i follow his overclocks i get bsods lol ... but if i overclock to 3.8ghz its fine . Could it be voltage problems or just the power delivery on my mobo ?

  • @elementalsoul1 The cpu could be getting too hot. Are you using the stock heatsink fan?

  • whats the best amd proccesor for gaming other than the x6 1100t

  • @Amin7ty The AMD Phenom II x4 960T is a decent quad-core for gaming and with a TDP of 95w, it does not get too hot. With the right mb, you may be able to unlock the two idle cores.

  • When i try to overclock it, either windows wont boot up, or its unstable, what do i do?

  • LOL @ the intro music

  • nice ear rings twink

  • @1112223333111 He's married u idiot.

  • @1112223333111 To a woman btw

  • How far could i push an AMD Phenom II X4 820 (2.8GHz) with stock air cooling?

  • @Deadliciouz231 might be able to hit 3.2-3.4GHz depending on the room temp

  • @TylertheGeek28 that's a massive overclock! lol jk I don't like non black edition cpu's because I can't just increase the multiplier, which means I have to play with the fsb, which means I have to play with the voltages where you been Tyler?

  • i have the gigabyte 970a ud3 and the amd x6 1055t can i get the same result and i have the crosair h50 colder with one push fan ist safe to go to 4.0 ghz ?

  • Does overclocking void your warranty?

  • @CollPowers, yes it does.

  • @CollPowers Yes, sadly.

  • I followed this completely and my stress test failed :'(

I have a Crosshair IV Formula in an Antec 1200 with an aftermarket cpu cooler.

  • @mattius1989 you might need a little more voltage, not all processors are created equal.

  • I wonder who has prettier ear rings you or your boyfriend Brad?

  • @frwgt350net He's married, to a woman. Nor was that funny. Grats on showing how much a dick you are.

  • only 4 of the cores are programmed for gaming and the other 2 are not.

  • step 1: make videos about technology

step 2: put those videos on youtube

    step 3: ???

    step 4: profit!

  • lol pause at 5:16

  • I lost a lot of respect for AMD. They pulled these processors off the market because they're better than their new Bulldozer chips. "Buy Zambezi!!! It's worse in every conceivable way!!!" Uh no, no thanks.

  • is he gay?

    no ofense

  • @vevolackt he has a wife. so i'm assuming not

  • How do i overclock core 2 duo? in my bios i dont have ai tweaker i have OC tweaker though but i cant find any of that only ram freqency and some fsb 266 but i cant tell what im at when i turn it up. I also cant find Cpu ratio but there is something that is at 7.0 but i cant change it

  • Why I dont have the option of AMD Turbo CORE technology?? Thanks a lot...

  • my overclock fail, i dont understand why, i use the militaryclass motherboard.

  • Damn the 8 core 3.6 is 250 (230 on sale at micro center + a free am3+ ur3 board can't wait to get my hands on it!)

  • AMD sucks

  • @UunonMopo you realize this video is 1 and 3/4 years old right?

  • @isaac9517 bulldozer sucks too

  • @UunonMopo better than core 2 duo 2ghz

  • @isaac9517 i have i7 not core 2 duo

  • @UunonMopo no shit i have core 2 duo

  • @UunonMopo ur mom does too ! anyway... nice video.

  • whats urs screee ? (how many pousse , is a 26 or ...?)

  • the music in the in garage band. hipocrites

  • 52 degrees celsius or Fahrenheit.

  • @53525252252 you have never overclocked b4 I see

  • @isaac9517 hes bad, hes got numbers in his name... lol

  • @GlyDSniping who me? N it was supposed to be my bday but that was before I started to game (0517)

  • @isaac9517 ? are you retarded, the kid you were talking to... people these days...

  • @GlyDSniping what kid was i talking too?

  • @GlyDSniping who am i talking too because last time I checked the author was talking about himself going to get a deal

  • @GlyDSniping no need to be an ass

  • @isaac9517 No, really? I'm only watching a step by step how to overclock video.

  • @53525252252 its celsius

  • whats a small safe overclock for 1100T using Corsair H80 water cooler, i dont want to go to high just maybe from 3.3ghz to 3.7-3.8 will it get really hot?

  • @Dayfoxx7000 you could over clock that to close to the highest stable clock it has ever gotten. watercooling u could go 4ghz+

  • why Noctua always make this ugly coolers? i don't get it

  • Im planning on starting my 1st build and was wondering if this is a good setup, also wondering how much I might be able to overclock my cpu if I had (Just a rough estimate is fine)

    -Phenom II x4 960t

-ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 (same mobo as in video)

-8gb Corsair vengence memory 1866 mhz (eventually 16 gb total)

    -Corsair h60 water cooler

    -700 watt ocz psu (modular)

    -GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 2GB

All in the antec 200 case (I already have the case so im using this case for sure)

  • @KipaTech25 pre beast

  • @KipaTech25 the GPU sucks, rest is good

  • My 1055t is strange with 1,320V i have 3,27GHz

  • It's a ghetto set because he's doing a video about AMD cpus. GET IT?

  • @goldenmage I see what you were going for there, but AMD does have some pretty amazing works. It really depends on what you plan on doing with the build specifically. And even if that was truly the reason for the set-up...it wouldn't make sense at all, because why would such an amazing tech, such as Linus, downgrade to poke fun at an amazing piece he is clearly showing off?

    Fail Troll is Fail.

  • @NerdyLikes Dude, chill. It was a joke. I'm not trolling or anything. My main rig HAS an AMD Phenom II x6 1055t in it and I love it.

  • @goldenmage Well good. I'm glad we've got another AMD lover onboarc.

  • Voltage Moltage!!!

  • 0:47 start

  • i have the exact same cpu and mobo, and i don't have the "disable AMD turbo core technology" is there a setting you didn't show, or the firmware of the bios?

  • no programm shows my core temp -.- same cpu and mobo... some ideas?

  • @yakutza100 Asus PC probe will be the most accurate for that board, I have coretemp and HWmonitor but they are both saying my CPU was 11C @2.8ghz on idle but more like 25-30c on idle

  • AMD Phenom II X6 1065T thats my processor what can max clock it to? i have a 400wat graphics card and 600 watt power supply. Can i overclock im running at 40 celsius atm

  • @greenlime14 No one can tell you. Your CPU may become unstable with a 10MHz overclock or you may be able to get over 1GHz stable. The only way to find out is to try.

  • @greenlime14

yes you can, the max temp recommended not to exeed is 56-57 celsius

  • @Djpolskinl Bullshit lol you can go around 75 24/7...

  • Comment removed

  • @Djpolskinl AMD rates this processor at 63 degrees celcius.

    -AMD Website/Phenom II x6 1090t pamphlet

  • when i hit delete to get to the bios, it says no keyboard detected

  • I think the x6 line deserves the fx label not these iffy new cpu's that are good but not really good, but really they are good, they just aren't that good...

  • Can i overclock my amd phenom ii x4 960t processor but i unlocked it to 6 cores?raedon hd 6850,

  • Comment removed

  • How come it says his core speed is 1147 instead of 4004?

  • @Dawgmeatt Probably Cool'n'Quiet was enabled there, so multiplier at that moment (no CPU load) was reduced to 4x, giving clock of 287 MHz x 4 = ~1148 MHz. :)

  • so much more confident now Linus, THANKYOU! hoping to get at least 4.0Gz with my 1100T now!

  • Thank's for the explaination of Ghetto, now i know it includes me too! Poor, LOL!

  • I keep throwing coins at the screen but nothing happens.

  • Is it true that if I use an AMD processor with an AMD video card, will I get about a 20% more power from the video card?

  • @LuisOrtegaGuitar If you mean performance, then yes...

  • Ghetto! what do you mean by that, explain Please!

  • @Spizzo152 Poor

  • what program do you use to read the cpu temps?

  • @megagabobe1 CPU-z i think

  • can some1 help me with my Phenom 6x 1090t (NON BLACK)

how can i overclock my cpu

i have watercooling and 2 GTX 560 in SLI mode.

16gig ram and 500watt power supply

but i cant work this out cause i have a AS rock 970 Extreme 4 Motherboard and the desine is so different , i hope to get a reaply it would really help me out

    thanks

  • @GFHmwClan sorry cant help but DAMN thats a nice nasa pc u have there :D

  • @UrBaNMCPaladinZ whaha thank you . i workd hard for this pc :)

  • @GFHmwClan Your power supply isn't enough, you need 750w -1000w minimum.

  • @E0WiReD your an idiot don't gode people into buying stuff they don't need a 650w psu would be comfortable easy 700w if you want to be sure u reach your limits

  • @GFHmwClan You can underclock but not overclock the non black edition processor.

  • @jishan22 me sad :(

  • @jishan22 your also an idiot you can change fsb if you don't have a black edition you don't necessarily need a black edition cpu

  • I see a descrepancy in the video, in that the CPU-Z screenshot shows the core speed as being between 1100 and 1200 MHz yet you are saying that this is a 4 GHz stable overclock.

I have the exact same motherboard (though it is the non-USBv3 version) and same CPU and I am going for an overclock like this, so I am just wondering about that detail.

  • @rhanda24635 Its clocked at 1.1 or 1.2ghz because the cpu isnt being fully utilized. so it lowers the base clock to save power.

  • @rhanda24635

It is AMD Cool 'n' Quiet technology enabled . why you need in idle 4ghz ? It can be stable at 4ghz 24/7 but how to keep cool??

  • Can someone tell me how high it is recommended on stock coolers.

  • @SushiBoi7 Just use cpu-z and stop when you reatch 60degrees celcius max on full load:-) Use prime 95 to stress the computer:-)

  • does it matter whether you up the cpu ratio or the cpu frequency? or should you do a mix of both?

  • Step 1- Aquire subscribers.

    Step 2- ?

    Step 3-Profit.

  • @sloosh6000 step2- ads!

  • what type of cooler is he using on the video card i need one seeing how my crossfire has no gap between it

  • Could you do one with the

crosshair V formula 3way sli/crossfire a little older board with AMD Phenom II X6 Black Boxed,

With 16gRam at 2133 for overclocking,

Could you do something with that, the Evo went bad after the unlocking of the SLI and yes it supports 6 core cpu's but you will be using 100% all the time on the CPU,

  • Tell me, the 1055T that has Turbo Core, it's stock speed is 2.8GHz, is it safe to overclock it to 4.0GHz??? It would be incredibly useful for me and my editing but is it safe but for a long period of time? Btw, I have that CPU which is why am asking.

  • @xFlareEditing yes.

  • @xFlareEditing do you have an aftermarket cooler?

  • @xFlareEditing NOT with the stock cooler (the one that your CPU came with). You need an aftermarket cooler.

  • @xFlareEditing judging by your "edits" you wont need 4ghz.

  • @s1moviestar Why do you say that?

  • @xFlareEditing because your videos aint that big and after effects should be rather fast with your current cpu clock speed

  • @s1moviestar I know. Sometimes After Effects gets a little overwhelmed by some stuff but meh, you got a point. I was just wondering anyway, could be of some use in the future.

  • Wouldnt real world temps be higher considering it would be in a case. Whats the safe general "sweet spot" temp to go for if one wanted to run it 24/7?

  • @acuna13 it depends what your case is like, if its only a medium size atx tower with a dvd rw, ssd, hdd with a few cables & big graphics card then it would run hotter.

but if you get a big case like an antec 300 or 600 and put 2 x 120mm fans in the front pushing air in and have 2 in the back pulling air out it acts like a wind tunnel/small room heater

Got my 1090T runnin @ 3.6ghz & 3.8ghz turbo core with stock cooler but with a higher rpm fan on it I had lying around, gets to about 50 C

  • @acuna13 60c is the highest you would want to be on an AMD chip

  • @acuna13 not if you run it in an antec 1200 v3 ;)

  • @acuna13 Depends on your case and how many case fans you have.

  • @acuna13 I'd say 50C or so..

  • what about the fx6100 what speed on stock cooler

  • Would you need more than stock

Cooling for over clocking to 4.0ghz??

  • @Frostedchunks Definitely more than stock but you don't neccesarily need liquid cooling the noctua NH-D14 is an awesome air cooler for overclocking.

  • that's the different moltaa...voltage Moltage xDD

  • for overclocking a CPU or Graphic card, can a fan cooling system handle the heat, or am I better off investing in a liquid cooling system? I'm a newbie so i wanna set things right the first time.

  • @afrotcdet035 Liquid cooling.

  • what would you recommend in terms of core voltage& clock to use it 24/7?

  • I'm in the process of deciding to buy a gaming rig with the spec of the processor and motherboard listed below. The seller claim that the processor can be overclock, so I'm just making sure that he is correct. ANY ONE WANNA HELP ME CONFIRM THIS?

PROCESSOR: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz 6x512KB L2 Cache and 6MB L3 Cache w/AMD CPU Cooler with copper piping for easy overclocking

MOTHERBOARD: Biostar TA870U3+ ATX AMD Motherboard

  • @afrotcdet035 I just got the phenom x6 1090t and its a good Processor. The 1055T has a locked multiplier and overclocking isnt that easy. Stock amd coolers arent good for overclocking on and are not easy at all to overclock on. i suggest you save your money and get a 1090T with an aftermarket cooler.

  • I really don't trust AMD

  • @aPcollateral why ? i have an amd and it works wonders man

  • Can i overclock the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T up to 3,3 without changing the stock heatsink/fan?

  • @alphamage20 yes. just make sure, while running prime95 (google it), it doesn't go above 60 degrees celsius

  • @Churchboy587 Oh GOD THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!! =D <3 but how do i monitor the temp of my CPU?

  • @alphamage20 Download AMD Overdrive. You should be able to also google that and download it from AMD's website.

  • i have the 1090t. got it for 160 bucks brand new and its a beast at overclocking. its so fast it doesn't even need to be overclocked..

  • default multa.. Voltage!! multage.. -.- *DEEEP BREATH* AND THEN I...

    You think fast lol!

  • I just ordered X6 1055t, i want to overclock at 4 Ghz can i buy the Scythe ninja 3? Is yhis cooler to cheap?

  • Thank you so much for this outstanding tutorial. I found several other terrible ones before this. Great quality and concise, clear directions.

  • what computer setup is that?

  • Quick question (no fanboys please) should i get an AMD Phenom II 6x or an i5 2500K at a $17 difference im gonna be using it mostly for gaming and surely im gonna overclock it

  • @freefrans easy !!! the answer is AMD !

  • @freefrans I would go with the AMD because the 4x intel may beat the 6x AMD now but soon microsoft will release better support to take full advantage of the six cores in windows. You should also go with the FX X6 because it can overclock more and you are future proofing your self.

  • @freefrans i would go amd, i have a phenom II 6x 1100t (black) and its performance is incredible in gaming even with games like crysis 2 and to get the most out of it get an AMD (ati) graphics card.

  • @freefrans AMD

  • @freefrans The 2500k will perform better with higher end GPUs such as the GTX 590 and Crossfired/SLi'd GPUs.. This kind of high end MIGHT (not saying for definite) bottleneck an X6. But they are both cracking CPUs.

My advice, go for the 2500k if you don't use highly threaded applications. You'll get a little bit of extra performance that may or may not be noticeable.

  • @freefrans If you are going to do nothing but gaming, get an AMD. If you are going to go and do video rendering, and multitasking, get an Intel

  • in a Room full of hot horrny girls ready to fuck ORR In a room full of every pc part/acesire bla???

    Hmmmmmmmmm

    Probblyyy theeeeee uhh IDK

  • @atom608 If i was able to build/keep the pc, then i'd pick that, no doubt...

  • Strange my 4ghz(20x200Mhz) is 99%stable at 1.4825Vcore(Blue screen after 3-4 hours in battlefield 3). 100% stable only at 1.5Vcore. Can someone tell why? 1090T, 4x4 corsair 1600Mhz CL9, MSI 890FX gd 65. I tried 4050 13x300Mhz(to get 1600Mhz on ram) at 1.5Vcore but crash after 1 hour in Battlefield 3.

  • @johnrehak mine does this i read somewhere that it has something to do with the motherboard. The motherboard cant feed every last bit of voltage into the cpu when the Vcore is increased, so you have to add a higher voltage to get it 100% stable. But im not compleatly sure i guess it depends what mobo u have

  • I got a problem. I have a 1100T and I overclocked it to 3.9Ghz. I have run alot of stress test and other stuff but as fast as I play games I bluescreen........... Same with Graphic-card.

  • @ZwingsTV 3.9 and its unstable? i got mine at 4.2 and its stable. thats the highest i was able to overclock it.

  • It's clocked higher.. so you will need a better mb to oc higher.

  • so does that mean my 9850 quad core has an unlocked multi?

  • Is a phenoem ii 1055t better than a 1035t I'm buying a barbones pc for $300

  • @Electronicmonster hey check out tigerdirect for really cool deals.

check ASUS M4A88T-M on it .

  • Very informative video but this guy's voice is very annoying. Why does he have to yell? I understand you must project, speak clearly and enunciate to make a good video but this is rediculas. He is worse than Billy Mays. It makes my teeth hurt.

  • Great... Except then you BSOD all the time, have hard hangs, instability, etc... but when it works it is fast.

  • @NETWizzJbirk

Every system is unique. Try to find the right overclock for YOUR system ;) There's no perfect settings for everybody.

  • @FabianK95 I will pass. My i7 2600K runs fast enough on a P67 Intel Desktop board without any overclocking.

  • @NETWizzJbirk

Well my CPU runs "fast enough" as well on stock settings, but who doesn't like that extra power? ;P
