@felixthecat1623 yeh i agree the rb2 official cymbals are horrible, annoyingly loud, no rebound on the bow whatsoever! thankfully the new cymbals they came out with for rb3 are fantastic for the price. they leaps and bounds better than the rb2 cymbals.

No, this mod would not work with RB3. I made this video LONG before Rock Band 2 was ever even released. I made this video before they ever announced a cymbals option was going to be made. HOWEVER, this mod is still useful for those who are rockin a RB1 drum set as RB1 drums do not have the cymbal ports like RB2 and RB3 drums do (hence the reason I did this mod back in the RB1 days).

Just to be clear, I said this mod will not work in PRO mode of RB3 but that is because the drum kit used here is a RB1 drum kit as that was all that existed at the time.

As for the making your own cymbals to use with a RB2/ 3 drum kit and use them in PRO mode, YES, you can make your own cymbals that will work with a RB2 drum kit.

LOL, yeah. I have a set of the "official" cymbals that I picked up with RB2 but they are SOOO loud and stiff. I still prefer the frisbees. Only difference is I went ahead and removed them from this RB1 drum kit and put male jacks on them so they can plug in to the RB2 drum kit.

um are the rockband 1 and 2 drums they same if not can u still use cymbols on the rockband 1 drums and i dont think its a mod i think its just an extension

u cannot use the cymbals on the rb1 set, they are most definately not the same! rb1 is sucks so much compared to the rb2 set. i have owned both. used my rb1 set until it broke. took about 1 month for it to brake. have had rb2 set for about 4 months now... still great condition, works same out of the box. i dont find it to drop notes but the rb1 set did. rb2 set considerably better. if u are to buy either dont even consider the rb1 set, its a waste of time.

just gotta be careful of the bubblingof the rb2 drums.... if it starts to happen i recomend buying drum silencers if your warranty is out

i have xcell pads for my rb2 set, it prevents bubbles and doesnt void warranty.

The drum set I used in this video IS a RB1 drum set. Look at the date I made this. RB2 was not even announced yet.

No they are not the same, BUT follow the guide in the info of this video and you can see how I turned the RB1 drum kit used in the video into a cymbals compatible drum kit long before RB2 came out.

there are separate ports on the back of the drums for an additional 3 cymbals. If you plug in some pads or actual cymbals from the kit, it automatically detects it = cymbal sound.

This mod and video was made long before RB2 was even announced. So at the time I posted this you couldn't get an RB2 kit or cymbals as they didn't exist ;) . HOWEVER, this is still usefull for peeps using RB1 kits with RB2
