I have a quick question here. I'm an Eve newb but whenever I've been on in fights with gangs. We've focus fired 1 dude at a time it seemed like there was always 2 dudes in armor and another losing shields? Wouldn't it be more effective to focus one down at a time?

Depending on the size and load-out on the ships in the fleet, Missle ships almost NEVER fire at the primary target. They always fire at the secondary. Reason being, by the time the missles get to the primary target, the Turret equipped ships have already killed said ship. So they fire at the secondary/tertiary target so that their damage doesn't go to waste.

Also, it may be drone aggro, and someone just isn't paying attention to where they are.

Third reason, someone's not paying attention.

yes if your an organised fleet your FC should call primary target and a secondary target, you all focus down those first, if theres more than 2-3 ships he should recall primarys after the first is down or if circumstances change, like if one warps out or another ship enters the fray

That setup wouldn't be too bad in the current patch, you'd just have to waste-rep yourself in the beginning to get your cap down, so you can drain. That, or fit a single neut.

Although I may be biased...I fly a Sacrilege and the neut domi is my worst nightmare in a world of battleship prey.

There's nothing wrong with having a plate and reppers. A popular tank fit for the Rifter is a 200mm plate and a small repper. Lots of roll with an 800mm plate and a medium repper on the Vexor.

Dominix has 7 lows, so it can definitely do that.

I used to fly a Hurricane with 1x 1600mm plate and 1x medium repper, and it survived an engagement with an Ishtar and a Falcon.

Caldari specialize in missles and shields but I hear best PvP ships might be Gallente or Minmitar. Anyway, YOUR race doesn't matter because you can train to use other races ships easily with zero penalty. So just pick a race that seems pretty to you. Races only affect the first few skills you start with.

not really, a pvp drake will usually have a smaller tank than a pvp fitted domi

PvE drake fits have much bigger tank, but once fit for PvP they lose a lot of tank

true. but the super recharge tank is still used in pvp situations, especially for bait. personally, i always opt to get rid of a domi before a drake, because if it IS a recharge tank, it'll take forever. plus the domi is likely to have remote reps, which should ALWAYS go first (except for ECM of course).

this was made back in '07. thats why you see every single ship with nos and damps lol. back then the nos didnt work the same. it wasnt restricted by your enemy cap level and yours. it just stole theirs and gave it to you. and damps did both range and scan res at the same time at what is now script strength (notice he has no script in his damps...). he has a fairly standard pvp domi fit for back then.

You are rewarded for your time that you play.... it's just not all about leveling up like wow. In this you can be a powerful player without having very high SP. For instance, if you make a large corporation, or gain connections, make lots of isk etc. This game is like a sandbox where everything is player controlled and thus unlike wow it's a purposely social game where team work is a must. When you see 500 vs 500 real people in one system, it's kinda awesome. btw what demo??
