  • People like halcyonstyn is precisely the reason prop 8 passed. Just look at his appearance. If you gays CHOOSE to look like freaks, people will not respect you. If you want to be accepted, try looking like a normal human being. If you CHOOSE to look like freaks, don't be surprised that people don't accept gays.

  • But... I'm not gay.

  • If you're not gay, then I'm not homophobic.

  • Your entire comment focuses on looks. Are you educated enough to know what you just told the rest of us about yourself?

To me, people who CHOOSE to look unique should are like wild flowers on the barren road you call life out to be. Absent them, people may look a little closer at you.

Please rethink. There are plenty of business suit-wearing gay men who's education and intelligence exceeds your own. Wouldn't it make sense that there is a little more to this than looks?

  • You have a delusional view of who "voters" are. I have 500 characters to change your mind. Your not worth it. I'm out.

  • -One- problem with your "argument" is that Halcyon -isn't- gay. Ooops!

Also gays are as diverse as straight people are in their tastes, fashion sense, viewpoints, beliefs, ethics and so forth and have every RIGHT to be. If a gay man DID dye his hair pink, blue, green or whatever, why shouldn't they be allowed to express individuality just as straight people are able to?

  • Why do gays have to go the extra mile to prove how "ethical" they are to anyone in order to have basic rights?

  • Also to address the main wtf? element here, what the hell does fashion sense have to do with one's right to get married? I don't remember there being a fashion code that people must follow in order to get a marriage license. Its beside the point. If two straight people were going to have a steampunk wedding ceremony, I doubt you'd be yapping away with the same drivel you wrote here. Did you even take time to really investigate the "logic" behind your post before sending it in?

  • The truth is that your argument and others like yours often have nothing to do with how gays look or think. It has everything to with the fact that they are simply gay. You are certainly entitled to dislike -homosexuality- as that is your- right, but be honest about it without posting ridiculous reasoning that people can tear up in a matter of seconds. No matter what gays do, say or think, some people just do NOT like the idea of same sex attraction & partnership on ANY level. Just come clean.

  • @gusfromflorida who in the hell do you think you are to decide what is normal or right!!

  • @gusfromflorida I look like more of a freak than this guy! And I'm straight.

  • Your argument is/isn't valid. Love isn't to be endorsed, disputed or institutionalized by the State Legislator written into law and endorsed. Love isn't an inalienable right, it's a byproduct. Marriage is a union, and nothing can stop anyone from being married, however if you want the rights associated with a legal union but you want he state to approve it your defiantly out on a limb brother.

  • I voted in agreement with your points. I left a video response too, guess you did not approve. It could get hairy in the long run but love is love like you say and eventually we will work out those other areas of difficulty one way or another.

    Paul

  • what did you use to dye your facial hair? i want some black.

  • yes!!! Is teh dept of Love hiring? ;)

  • I bleached it first, then used a "dye away your grey" kit.

  • Yes. Love is Love. Love love love love love. We need to do more to foster love. We need a Department of Love, a place that helps plant love seeds and teaches us to grow love gardens and jungles and rainforests, a place that teaches us to love ourselves and our families and our neighbors and most especially the people we don't agree with, and most most especially our "enemies".

    Love

    Love love love love love...

And love to you my friend.

  • Agreed Caroleeena :) I want to work there when it gets started :P.

  • Thanks for putting this message out John. The fact that so many people are being vocal about it passing is a clear message that there is still a view that being gay is seen as wrong. In my experience sexual orientation is biological and innate. I have no choice in the matter, neither do the people who are pounding on the bible about it. It does make me chuckle when it is said that if gay marriage is allowed then people might extend that to marrying other things like goats, crocodiles and such.

  • Dude...keep spitting the truth. You rock!

  • Love more, fear less! I am right with you! Thanks for continuing to spread a positive message! Much Love~

  • lovelovelove to YOU!

  • Exactly! Love is the coming together of two HEARTS, not a specific combination of body parts!

    Thanks for this :)

  • I love that!

  • Is this for state government?

  • Yes, California.

  • all true.. tho consider one thing hal.. if the only real difference between a marriage and a civil partnership is the inclusion of god into the equation, then why would people want to fight for that when religion, well, christianity, apparently is against homosexuality? i say fuck god, get the paperwork, it means more! (just bein devils advocate, i think everyone should have the same rights too) interestin tho?..

  • Well, Christ was NOT against homosexuality. Neither is god. If someone wants to exclude religion from their union, that is THEIR choice, not the governments or some faction of bigoted "christians."

  • thats true.. i guess i meant; why would u want to be associated with a group of people who largely misinterpret gods will and who often are against homosexuality.. but thats missin the point.. surely equal rights are the basis of democracy and freedom that the west so proudly shouts about?

  • Bravo! NO on 8--"LOVE IS LOVE"!

  • Yay, Vron family!

  • Love is love.. perfectly said. =)

What's so difficult for the Yes-on-8 folks to understand?

Straight-against-8 here and so are my sons who are voting age this election. 3 votes here for NO ON PROP. 8!
