  • @rbtwentysix The Roots Blowers on 2cycle engines, like Detroits....are NOT

    "superchargers"..they only provide air...at, or just slightly above (approx. 4psi)

    atmospheric pressure for scavenging the cylinders, and are concidered "naturally aspirated" without any turbo-charging....however, when Roots blowers are utilized on a 4cycle engine....it is then concidered a supercharger, because a 4cycle has an Intake stroke, whereas

    a 2cycle, does not.
