lawl I never go to the doctor if I have the cold or flu, what is the point?
This is the first time I ever went to the doctor because of the flu and it's because I got H1N1 and it resulted in a lung infection, I can't stop couging up blood ;_;

Antibiotics have no effect whatsoever on the flu... The flu is a viral infection. So why the hell would you give antibiotics? That would be a raging missuse.
A "cold" is a rhinovirus. Again, why the hell would you give an antibiotic for a viral infection?
And antibiotics ARE vastly overused because of the ignorance of the public at large demanding them when they get sick. They should only be prescribed when a culture is obtained, and sensitivity demonstrated.
