I'm looking for an 80's song around 1984, 1985 with the lyrics that go something like this "it was a working day, a holiday, runaruna runnaway".........can find it any where.
See, if you read all the comments you would have got the answer: 1. Cuddly Toy - Roachford 2. Voyage Voyage - Desireless 3. Wishing Well - Terence Trent Darby 4. Open Your Heart - Madonna 5. Love is a Battlefield - Pat Benater 6. In The Kitchen At Parties - Jona Lewie 7. Is Vic There ? - Department S 8. Wordy Rappinghood - Tom Tom Club 9 Smalltown Boy - Bronski Beat 10 Boys of Summer - Don Henley
Ok...I'm very impressed with the fact, you knew 1, 2, 6, and 7! With just a few notes! Those where not your common top 40, radio played songs during the 80's. Kudos, to you, I loved the 80's and would have been dumbfounded on those four! The others ones were very common to hear where I was growing up, and it wasn't a big city either! ; )
1) It was me who put the video together. I am roonsa. I just can't access that account because I've forgotten my password and when I request for it to be reset, the E-Mail never arrives.
2) I cut and pasted the answers from another user for quickness as all the answers have been written down more than once already in the comments.
3) Those songs were common top 40 radio played songs in the UK, where I am based! :)
The answers: 1. Cuddly Toy - Roachford 2. Voyage Voyage - Desireless 3. Wishing Well - Terence Trent Darby 4. Open Your Heart - Madonna 5. Love is a Battlefield - Pat Benater 6. In The Kitchen At Parties - Jona Lewie 7. Is Vic There ? - Department S 8. Wordy Rappinghood - Tom Tom Club 9 Smalltown Boy - Bronski Beat 10 Boys of Summer - Don Henley
Here are the answers : 01 Roachford - "Cuddly Toy" 02 Desireless - "Voyage Voyage" 03 Terence Trent D'arby - "Wishing Well" 04 Madonna - "Open Your Heart" 05 Pat Benatar - "Love Is A Battlefield" 06 Jonah Lewie - "You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties" 07 Department S - "Is Vic There?" 08 Tom Tom Club - "Wordy Rappinghood" 09 Bronksi Beat - "Smalltown Boy" 10 Don Henley - "Boys Of Summer"
track 8: Rappin world by Tom Tom Club 9: Automatic lover but i do not know the name of the artist. i know that The Real McCoy had that song in the 90's but in the 80's i do not know who sang it.☺
1. 2. 3. Wishing well - Terrence Trent Darby 4. open your heart - Madonna 5. Love is a Battle field - Pat Benatar 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Boys of Summer - Don Henley Wow! And I grew up in the eighties!
The first song's great to dance to. It's like somethings breaking up and every single girl comes out to dance. I love this quiz. Can you please tell me the name of the last 4 tracks
Kylie - The answers were already given but, for you, here they are again. I'm glad you enjoyed the quiz. 01 Roachford - "Cuddly Toy" 02 Desireless - "Voyage Voyage" 03 Terence Trent D'arby - "Wishing Well" 04 Madonna - "Open Your Heart" 05 Pat Benatar - "Love Is A Battlefield" 06 Jonah Lewie - "You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties" 07 Department S - "Is Vic There?" 08 Tom Tom Club - "Wordy Rappinghood" 09 Bronksi Beat - "Smalltown Boy" 10 Don Henley - "Boys Of Summer"
I just mean i find it on You-tube and i jump barefoot in my heart pajamas on my bed. When i was about 5 i fell out of bed and i had to go have a operation
Yay! This one was fun, plus this time we got most of em.
Funny thing is my gf is American and I'm Dutch, so we guess different things. She knew #10 and guessed Madonna and Pat Benatar before me, while I got Bronski Beat and Terence Trent Darby before her and she'd never heard Dept S and Voyage Voyage.
#6 frustrated the hell outta me, I knew that song but could NOT put the title to it!
That's right. Actually due to poltical reasons the 80's was an outburst of excellent music we didn't hear before. And we also got lots of excellent national rock. Imagine what it was like, with democracy to have all this together just at the time when I was becoming an adolescent and celebrating 15 year old parties with friends every single Saturday!
Do you happen to know of a song with a nice instrumental part, rather slow, whose chorus goes something like "Never want to get (missing word).. with a new romance... (missing part) Never want to...(repeat)? and the has the instrumental part again?
I've been looking for it forever with no success. Any hints are welcome!
Would like to know what song you mean, cuz it's making me really curious. Wish I could help somehow. I googled "never want to get" + "with a new romance" and there were only 2 results [One being your comment] so there must be something wrong with your lyrics for sure. Can you give a hint (is it a man or a woman who sings? what instruments can you hear? ...)
para pan pan pan pan (repeated 3 times)and then the female (high-pitched sort of Kate Bush's like) voice will go with something like "Never want to get... (denied???) or whatever it is, "with a new romance" ..... since I haven't been able to get either the song or the lyrics.
1 - 2 - Voyage Voyage (Desireless) 3 - Wishing well (Terence Trent Darby) 4 - Open Your Heart (Madonna) 5 - Love is a Battlefield (Pat Benatar) 6 - 7 - 8 - Wordy Rappinghood (Tom Tom Club) 9 - Smalltown Boy (Bronski Beat) 10 - The Boys of Summer (Don Henley) Good luck on the remaining tracks!

XtOfje 4 years ago
I'll try to "sing?" it! I believe it's quite well-known.
The song is rather slow, sang by a woman.
I think it begins with a sort of -ing (nominalization)
The chorus goes something like this
parapanpan pan pan (high pitched) para pan pan pan pan
para pan pan pan pan (all this is instrumental)
and then it goes on with something like "Never want to .... (whatever it says)"
and the isntrumental part will be played again. I wonder which instrument it is.
Roxy80sfan 4 years ago
This "parapapan parapapan" does actually ring a bell to me... I'll look into it later

Ok, let me know if you find it.
Actually the instrumental part goes
