  • Higurashi and Umineko are TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. These two are tied at 1st for my favorite animes/mangas/games/whatever/etcetc. They are both extremely amazing, no need to argue one is better than the other. Why bother trying to compare them when they're so different.

  • @sejiyodase Technically they're related somewhat, what with Bernkastel and Lambdadelta.. :P

  • I KNEW IT WAS ITALIAN IN THE BEGINNING >:D

  • @EeveelutionStorm The higurashi anime adaptation is better than Umineko's. Still, the sound novels of both are way better than their anime adaptations! I personally prefer Higurashi, but I haven't finished Umineko so I can't decide right now :P. Also... SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER In higurashi no one is actually fucked up SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

  • @MHLifeful No, people are fucked up in Higurashi. Just not the people you'd assume. Trust me, I know, for I have read the sound novels.

Also, agreed on the anime adaptations. I kind of just kept watching the Umineko anime for its awesome voice cast. But now that the sound novels have been remade for the PS3, and patches for the sound novels to give them the voices and visuals of the PS3 version are in development, I think I'd be satisfied even if a Chiru anime never came to be.

  • @immblueversion Now that you mention it... Yeah!! I was thinking on the people that are supossed to be, but there are other persons too D:.

And that patches you are talking about, where can i get information about that? I heard something about that some group tried but that it didnt work :s

  • Love the first pic

  • Beautiful! The pictures go so well with this....keep up the amazing work!

  • The vocals are so freakin epic here. Damn.

  • i love dis song!!!!!

  • @snipercounty look up movie maker effects

  • i cant find a dislike button anywhere in youtube for shikata akiko

  • SFSF

  • Purely EPIC!!

  • Is there a download link to this? ;w;

  • 43 people are witches ;_;

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone know where to download this WMA approved so I can make an AMV?

  • I'm a really big Higurashi-fan...but whereever I look, i find Higurashi and Umineko-fans arguing...should I try Umineko or just leave it?

  • @TheSinForest They're made by the same person, I watched both and they're both very good. Some characters seem like translations from one to the other.

  • @halowarrior1000 >watching umineko and higurash

  • @TheSinForest It all depends on your taste. I prefer higurashi but umineko is truly a masterpiece as well

  • Umineko? Is this a good anime? :D What are the genres?

    Tell me nothing more >u<

  • @LazyLonerLayla wikipedia it :D very good anime and better VN -nod nod-

  • buen anime jajaa

  • Lool when i first heard the opening for this anime i thought someone had somehow made an amv using an ar tonelico song. Then i quickly realized it was probably Shikate Akiko.Im a huge fan of the ar tonelico music and this is just great

  • Umineko, I think, is a whole lot more interesting than Higurashi. I mean, I still like Higurashi, but once I started watching Umineko, it pushed Higurashi to number two on my favorite anime list. :P

  • if they made umineko into a two season like higurashi with more explanation of the characters, i would have liked it a lot better. the characters' actions are too dynamic not for them to have a back story to explain. and things barely made sense to me. many characters irked me because they're so passionate about something not fully explained.

the song is very nice tho. i do love this kind of vocalization.

maybe i should ready into the visual novels since i heard that's much better explained

  • Sugoi !!!

  • I agree...This song is gorgeous. <3

  • Best opening song. Its so magical :D

  • I like Umineko better then Higurashi. Why? Maria's the only creepy fucked up kid.

  • @EeveelutionStorm the anime could've been better, but overall, umineko is better than higurashi. i started watching higurashi and asked myself, why the hell are there a bunch of creepy kids killing each other and coming back w/out explanation. i probably should've watched the whole anime, but still. umineko's better!

  • @GooCoooorp Agreed Higurashi was okay for a brief scare but...I lost my innocence thanks to that anime. XD I was eleven when I first saw it. Umineko though...It's just plain awesome and so is the theme!

  • @EeveelutionStorm i'm so sorry. i heard about umineko, watched the anime, read the some visual novels and manga, then went to higurashi and was disappointed. umineko's plot was a little hard to follow sometimes(mostly anime for me), but don't even get me started on higurashi. umineko for the win!

  • @GooCoooorp I heard about Higurashi from someone watched it couldn't stand it went back to it a year later fell in love with the music and watched the dub looked at the manga briefly. Kept seeing stuff for Umineko and I just started watching it. (Besides I had watched a lot scarier movies as a younger child anyways so no worries. XD)

  • @EeveelutionStorm I tried watching Higurashi, but I really only like the music. I'd heard of Umineko when I was on saiikokoji's deviant art page. saiiko drew a picture of Battler, and I looked up Umineko. I liked the anime, but I loved the manga and Visual novels a lot more.

  • @GooCoooorp ...Ya know, they explain why the kids are killing each other and why they keep coming back. It's all in season two, called Kai.

  • @NSwisher15721 why? is it cuz they're trying to fight fate or something like that?

  • @GooCoooorp This is a lot of spoiling, but here we go:

In Higurashi, there's something called the Hinamizawa Syndrome, a disease that only appears in Hinamizawa (obviously). It causes hallucinations/delusions, extreme paranoia, and violence. There are five levels. Everyone in Hinamizawa is at either Level 1 or 2, at which they can live normally. If one is subjected to stress, they'll jump up in the levels until they hit Level 5, where they claw their own throat out. The kids who

  • @GooCoooorp killed and/or started acting strange had this Syndrome. That's why they're always killing each other. The only one who can't get the Syndrome is Rika, who is the queen carrier. If anyone is separated from Rika, their Syndrome will get worse. The longer they're away, the worse it'll get. That's why no one can leave Hinamizawa without succumbing to the disease. The Syndrome is most often mistaken as Oyashiro's curse, which takes place on the Cotton Drifting Festival.

  • @GooCoooorp Rika (being the reincarnation of Oyashiro) has Hanyuu (a god and Rika's ancestor) help her in her quest to beat Fate. Everytime someone dies, then comes back... they actually don't come back. What Rika did was have Hanyuu take her to a different world where everyone is still alive. In the end, Rika is able to prevent the Hinamizawa Syndrome from ever happening and beats the mastermind behind it, stopping her fated death. From there she lives happily with her friends.

  • @GooCoooorp ...You probably knew all that already but whatever. xD

  • @NSwisher15721 actually, i didn't. i didn't really watch higurashi, so now i know more about it. thanks :D

  • @GooCoooorp No problem. It really is a great show. :)

  • @NSwisher15721 and you know what, i might go watch higurashi again. just so i can get the full understanding of it. thank you! i will still always love umineko, but i'll watch higurashi! :D

  • @EeveelutionStorm You forgot about Erika.

  • @Random1208 ...*still watching the series* Dunno who she is yet.

  • @EeveelutionStorm The anime only covers Umineko novel to the end of the 4th installment. Erika appears in the 5th installment of the novel.

  • @EeveelutionStorm spoiler : well in Higurashi they suffered the hinamizawa syndrome while in umineko...Maria IS actually a litlle creepy though, shes my favourite character

  • I love this opening...but...I think Umineko is kinda boring. XD I like Higurashi a lot better

  • @NipahKawaiiRika The novels or the anime? Because the anime kinda went in a weird direction after a while while the novels themselves are QUITE different.

  • This voice is to magical to be from a normal human! xD

Because of this you can listen to this endlessly. Theres "endless magic" in it! :DD

  • 40 people couldnt solve the Witch's Epitaph...

  • I love it is it on iTunes?

  • @spongegaga2595 nope, but if you use youtube mp3 converter, im sure you'll find a way to get it. :)

  • @MissCielValentine oh... alright

  • this is an amazing song but NO MATCH for her theme for the visual novels

  • tone such as Ar Tonelico

  • This really reminds me of something from Ar Tonelico, is it any of the same singers?

  • its not italian either its japanese

  • @nadiehtje10 He means the first lyrics

  • I've been hitting that replay button for the last 3 hours...

  • @Itachisasukekiller use auto loop '-'

  • @ShadowWolf231 I just found a DL of it.

  • i thot it was japanses

  • This is ignored while people goggle over J.B.....What has the world become!?

  • @Majorasword64 The modern world's always been like that. 550k+ is a really good number, though, despite the fact that at least 250k of them are just by people re-listening to the song.

  • @Itachisasukekiller And I'm certainly one of them 250K.

  • Ohhh in italian, now I understand the song, LOL

  • Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is better than Umineko no Naku Koro ni. :P Lol

  • @ErinStovall It's not better!

  • @ErinStovall Read the v.n.'s for Umineko, then you see why Beatrice will pwn every time :p

  • @MikuMikuDanceMode Okay. I guess I could give Umineko another chance. XD

  • @ErinStovall Good ^^

  • " Can you recall this epic memorys? What form did they have? Were they cool, blazing, overwhelming, breathtaking? " :)

  • MOST EPIC ANIME OPENING SONG I'VE EVER HEARD!!!

  • I replayed this.. So many times. I just love this anime opening! Umineko will always be one of my favorite!

  • Latin? LOL the hell? latin is a dead language :b

    I LOVE this song!

  • @MeyuTsumiru A dead language is a language which has no more native speakers. Like if all the Hispanic people in the world suddenly died and there were no more left, Spanish would be a dead language. It doesn't mean it's not spoken at all.

  • I broke the replay button

  • @kireichan35 it just means you have good taste in music :D

  • This is a masterpiece.<3 it deserve to be on the radio

  • @bigbanghastaste amen! <3

  • Shikata Akiko has the most beatuiful voice ever granted to a human, I'm not even kidding. T^T

  • @Zantillia id go with Lia but she like 2nd maybe Asriel hmmm

  • Is it weird that I can't stop listening to this?

    I just love this song!!

  • Amazing *_* I love Shikata Akikooo :*

  • I don't know why, but the atmosphere of this song also fits the cutscene events on Reach pretty well.

  • @Kaiji

    Obviously, it's called EPIC!

  • What's this music genre called? If there is one.. ^ u ^

  • @Kaij709 epicness

  • I love this song. Definitely suits the anime very much. I want to know if it will continue :/

  • Amazing song. Why this kind of music doesn't surface on a world-scale is beyond me.

  • No fukin wonder i culdent get this song im cuban but i couldent understand........its italian........ damn but ral good

  • here you go----0:01---- instant replay

    YOURE WELCOME :D

  • This had a great song. But the show started to get old fast. It's a shame to. It could of had a hell of a deep plot if they didn't just basically rewind it again and again and again.

  • @shade231 higurashi did the same thing , but good... really was exited when i read the sinopsis for this show, letdown of the year :(

  • It's a beautiful song... <3

  • Spanish, French, Italian and Portugese are all based off Latin. But the non-Japanease parts here are Italian for sure.

Well, after EP7 of the visual novel, the reason for using Italian language here, will be clear for you :) but i will not spoil it for you here of course :P

  • @Meister9Neo italian women are beautiful teehee

  • @Meister9Neo yes i am italian and i can tell from the lyrics that this is italian for sure.

But to tell the trueth, i cant really understand a word, they seems to say every single accent in a wrong way XD

  • @MmmJurak mmh , iread in a comment somewhere on another vid , that japanese people have trouble saying foreign languages . i think it`s the japanese accent that gets in the way of mispronouncing the words , but other than that , this is still a beautiful song , even if they are pronouncing the italian wrong ... i think ... ?

  • lol..i'm not latin or italian. however, i remembered that spanish sounds familiar with 1 of those 2 languages because i'd learned spanish in the past; but most of my memory of spanish/japanese languages had perished over the years because i never used them. i do see that silly arguments quite often. well, i don't speak italian or latin nor have i learn them, so idk. atleast, i still keep track on my english n native languages. japanese songs n whatever you call latin or italian r great songs.

  • Akiko Shikata, the goddess. <3

  • i luv this song!!!!! <3 and anime!!!!!!

  • What an awesome voice!

  • i like this kind of songs

  • @japopoporn me too! They are very beautiful and melodic ^^

  • This is absolutely breathtaking! Stunning~

  • 良い曲だ

  • i was able to understand the story a lot more after watching the Anime, i still want to know if Battler makes it back to his little sister in the end or what.

  • I'm Actually Starting To Get Confused Since The Begginning Of The Second Chapter !

  • such a great song for aa awesome but yet fucked up anime

  • where can you go to find the novel I can only find the anime

  • @animebutterflu28 look at witch-hunt . com

  • Fuck the anime, read the novel!

  • @cascio94

Somebody's butthurt that Studio Deen "ruined" the VN.

  • @ViolinSnowKid2 To be honest, they ruined the story ^^

  • @Okoratu

yeah, actually, the did. I have yet to seen the vn and I can tell they left a lotta shit outta from the anime.

  • I freaking love this song... it just made me cry for no reason.. i just love it so much :3

  • @SoundlessBeat12 same here. Tears were streaming down and I had the shivers from how epic this opening was, and after only watching the 2nd episode of this series so far. A totally awesome companion to Higurashi.

  • @SoundlessBeat12 You cried because its so beautiful and amazing :3

  • @SoundlessBeat12 haha you cried and nakanaide (or something like that) means dont cry XD

  • didn't the same people who did when they cry do this anime cause i love both I hope they dub this one and more of when they cry

  • @PPLfromFR Last time I checked I was human...

  • one of the best openers of an anime hands down!!

  • ....can anyone tell me more about this anime.....

  • @nils8950UTAUACC It's about a family that travel to an island because the head of the family is dying. And their there for the inheritence, but they start dying one by one and it turns out a witch called beatrice is behind it, and killed them in order to revive. But she can only come back if people believe in her, and a character called Battler refuses that she exists. So they begin a game where Battler has to prove she doesn't exist. Although you could just look on wikipedia instead of asking.

  • Thumbs up if you get all the Higurashi no naku koro ni references and appearences.

  • okay your comment is 1 month old, now get the fuck down from the top comments :D

  • One of the best Anime ever in my opinion

  • Anyway I'm italian and I can't get a single word of this song. And for god's sake, Italian and Latin have almost nothing in common, trust me, I studied them both.

  • @diraequietes well Ima finnish and i can´t get anything from a finnish opera D: So....

  • Look, the song is pretty amazing, but I must say that I'm Italian and I couldn't get a single word (of the Italian ones, of course) if it weren't for reading them. If they hired an ACTUAL Italian to sing that parts the song would have bent better.

  • @Vaxhytron it's just that they use japanese singers for everything. look at lilium. weird t's.

    japanese rs.

    ae as ai.

    weird.

  • When I first heard this I said "phawk I'm going to like this"

  • Still get chills listening to this song.

  • Pure epicness.

  • So is there going to be a season 2??? I've been wondering for quite some time

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan It's doubtful, since I heard that the DVD and Blu-Ray sales were terrible for some reason. :/

But you can always read the novels.

  • @LovelyLullabyx Awww that sucks =[ Umineko was awesome!

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan There's still the sound novels, though... they're all being translated in English. :D A lot of hardcore Umineko fans say they're better than the anime.

  • @LovelyLullabyx Orly? Cool XD I might check those out =P Thnx!!

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan up until now nop but you can read the managa or read the visual novels :) its even better umineko chiru

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan I do not think that DEEN is going to do that after they screwed up at making the first season. Most likely they would make a Higanbana anime before they attempt another season of "this"

  • @Okoratu XD I thought it was pretty good =P

  • @Okoratu I started off with the anime, I like how it was actually moving, I mean I don't mind pictures that have the ocassional expression change. But I also like anime, People rely too much on originals to see how something holds up rather then on its own. Lots of movies and shows make changes from the original source so I'm sure an anime can make changes too. : l (sorry if it's jumbled and unreadable I'm tired as hell)

  • @halowarrior1000 But the changes made to Umineko are significant because I got the feeling that they miss some really important explanations in some situations so the anime adaption is far more confusing than the novel is; that's only what I think.

  • @Okoratu Well, I watched it on youtube and people explained it in the comments so I'm sure that's how a majority of others knew parts of the story >.>

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan no, but you could always play the game..

  • @MoeAnimeLover tru lol XD thnx

  • @ElfenLiedPhsycoFan Umineko no Naku Koro ni is pretty epic, I see you like Elfen Lied too, I LOVED that anime :D

  • @MoeAnimeLover Indeed XD Umineko is amazing =P Elfen Led is BEAST but Clannad is the best XD

  • @Flashykaabii: Yet awesome ^^ Best Japanese-Italian mix I ever hear xD

  • Weird opening xD

  • @RiceNFish Anything from the Ar Tonelico Soundtrack (the main vocalist of this song,Shikata Akiko is the voice of Misha so you can look up stuff like Chronicle Key),Yousei Teikoku (Wahrheit is the best!),Kanashimi no Mukou e(from school days) anything from the Higurashi soundtracks, and the Seikon no Qwaser soundtracks. Shion Tsuji also has a few songs

    like this.

  • What the HELL? The music started on it's own after it was on replay for a while...

  • it seems like i herd this before but i dont remember from were :/ is it in a anime?

  • @layla12380 umineko no naku koro ni

  • Anyone know other songs similar?

  • @RiceNFish "Umineko no naku koro" Akiko sings it and its the opening to the Umineko sound novel. (Its in the suggestions: Shikata Akiko - Umineko no naku koro ni) ^^

  • xat .com/animeanimeV10 for anime chat

  • i would lead an army with this song

  • very nice translation great Job!!!

  • I've only watched the first 2 episodes of this show. The song is so epic, I think I'll watch all of 'em XD

  • This song needs a better voice. This woman doesn't fit the song too well, I could imagine her as a background singer, but as the main singer, naa. Her voice isn't powerful enough, it's a bit too squeaky and she drowns in the song.
