I teach at an art/design college in the US, and showed this to my students. It had a tremendous impact on them, most them have never been out of the country. We were shocked by the horrific conditions the Ghanaians live in. This opened up a dialogue about what they can do to help in what seems an insurmountable problem: buy less, recycle more, buy more sustainable products. As art and design students, design products that are recyclable, sustainable, and eco friendly. I wish I had more ideas.

I dont know if they ever said where they were exactly in this video, but I know exactly where they were because i've been there. The polution in that area is pretty bad,(the smell of the outlet of that river is other worldly putrid in lowtide) but has more to do with the culture of the 40 thousand or so living in that section of the city.. The main urban center for the entire country is located right next to that massive slum witch extends a couple miles long but the width is probably 4-5 miles.

The problem with the pollution and the slum is that the people there dont want to move because technically they own the land and many of which are decendents of the original village that was once there, even tho the slum is full of shanty towns, delapitaded buildings and garbage the people living there continue on with their life.

Accra is a quickly developing city, mostly because it is the capital of ghana. Many parts of it are fully developed including the entire area surrounding that slum in the video. Like i said i've been there, just once, because it was quicker to drive through there to get to another part of the city the one day i was there. hum..ghana's not the only country ,the exact same radioactive shit has been dumped in the east side of ivory coast.I died the day i heard some official took bribe money despite the fact that 128 people died within weeks from food poisoning. the entire world is alarmed when 12 people die of swine flu but nobody heard about what happened in ivory coast because the officials on both ends worked overtime to cover it up.when you are down there you keep quite because you fear for your own life

I subbed to this channel b/c I am concerned and dont swallow anything without crtical thinking.Swine flu is not a threat, FEAR is.E waste , extortion, profiteering, soon maybe a false flag somewhere...Children untimately are murdered this way...very sad.

corporate greed is much more toxic then we think profit's fine but greed is evil.They do not care as long as the waste is far from their homes and sadly their local accomplices use the exact same logic.The various gov. we have had still haven't implemented the hard "green" fine or at least force the companies to process half of their waste.what aggravated me was when i saw that raw toxic shit come out the huge pipe.I mean they didn't even bother dry the shit and wrap it up, at least hide it.
