what about the retension of the breathe between nostrils........this is VERY important!
it is inhale for 4 sec- hold for 16 sec and exhale for 8 sec on each side.........and as u improve the ratio is 1:4:2 ex inhale for 5 sec- hold for 20 sec adn exhale for 10 sec....on each side......... with eyes closed..........other wise fine instructions........proper name is Anoloma Viloma......with all pranayama u should seek a knowledgeable teacher in the beginning!
Ester, I took my blood pressure reading before I started, it was 166/106, I did your breathing from the heart video and it went down to 154/95, I then tried your nostral video and it went down to 137/90. AMAZING, all within 10 minutes, thanks, Pete
try it out, u won't be able to this pranayam with blocked sinuses, n if u still force to breathe with a blocked nose, ull end up getting a headache. That will be exactly the opposite of what it is intended for. So, try this alternate nostril breathing with ur nasal passages clear for best results. I practice this technique daily , n sometimes when i tried it on a blocked nose, it resulted in a headache.
yes its hard with blocked nostrils so it helps if you get your nostrils pierced and breath thru the piercings on days when nostrils are blocked. many great pranayamis have their nostrils pierced for just this reason to keep up with the practice cause when there is a break in your daily practice it takes a while to get back to the point where you broke off the practice; take it from a sadhu; read my lips im not making this up. hehe
can this make your nose smaller too???? (please say yes)
