I'm a half Jewish Atheist and I love Christmas. I do celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. Which isn't fun on my budget, because I end up buying my son 9 gifts. Yep 9! 8 small ones for Hanukkah and 1 big one for Christmas. Last year I ended up taking him to the store every day of Hanukkah and let him pick out a toy.
Christmas isn't a pagan holiday you idiot, it's a secular holiday. You honestly brought nothing to my knowledge. Early Christians were not supposed to celebrate anyone's birthday let alone the Messiah's birthday. There is no record whatsoever in the Bible that confirms the 25/12 as the Messiah's birthday. The Roman Catholic built its power. religions, and rituals on paganism. In fact, they also created Islam so they can control the Holy Land. They both must be defeated. Only True Christians don't celebrate Christmas. Atheists are the ones who do celebrate it.

There are dozens of holidays with similar history, Halloween for one such example has long been labeled a devil's holiday because of it's association with witchcraft and devil worship (not all of which is justified). As an athiest, I truely love "Xmas"... awesome food, gifts and best of all, my immediate family spends all day together...playing games!
No television is allowed on. we set the timer and every hour it beeps; we HAVE to drop whatever we are doing and open one gift each. This essentially makes the festivities last all day long...thank goodness this isn't a Christian holiday any longer!

I'm a half Jewish Atheist and I love Christmas. I do celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. Which isn't fun on my budget, because I end up buying my son 9 gifts. Yep 9! 8 small ones for Hanukkah and 1 big one for Christmas. Last year I ended up taking him to the store every day of Hanukkah and let him pick out a toy.

Christmas isn't a pagan holiday you idiot, it's a secular holiday. It has pagan and Christian elements (Santa himself is even based on pagan/Christian/secular sources all together), but it is no more of a "pagan holiday" than a Christian one. It's a SECULAR AND MATERIALIST HOLIDAY that has traditions out of paganism and Christianity. Nobody worships the Christmas tree they decorate, they just fucking decorate it and buy presents to put under it.

Um ... let's just say that you're an idiot because you derive a spurious correlation between the celebratory ritual, which Christians did adopt to pagan calendars for the reason of not abandoning traditions as pagans converted to Christianity, and the institution of Christianity itself. There is no record whatsoever in the Bible that confirms the 25/12 as the Messiah's birthday. The Roman Catholic built its power. religions, and rituals on paganism. Such as the story of King David. Many said for years that King David didnt exist becouse nothing showed he was a real man. I do NOT celebrate because because I am a Christian. I detest all the pagan practices that have been brought into the church houses. They are many. I do not try to put Christ back in Christmas because He was never in it. So I agree with you about the origins of Christmas.  I keep the Feast of the Lord found in the Bible. They are listed in Lev.23. I believe with all my heart according to scripture and history, Jesus Christ was born during the Feast of Tabernacles in the Fall.

In Belgium, holland and some other countries we celebrate Sinterklaas instead of Santa clause. It means Saint Niklaas or Saint Nicholas, he has a black slave and he spreads gifts. We celebrate Santa clause too but it's from american culture like Halloween. BAH! Overcommercialized bs.

1. Not all Christians celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25, We Orthodox or Christians of the East celebrate it on Jan.7.
2. Christmas tree, mistletoe, lights etc are western culture Christmas for Orthodox Christians is going to the Divine Liturgy and Celebrate not tree/gifts.
3. St. Nicholas is not Turkish , he is Byzantine from Myra. Turks came to Anatolia in 1400sh AD

Tower of Bable story is not a story of origins of languages as there were already languages in Gen 10:5, 20, & 31 but the meanings of the words. Jesus is the true fulfillment of the promise while the pagan plagiarized gods are not. We have writings from bishops who were taught by the apostles.The Catholic Church has a sacred magisterium & tradition going back to the apostles. After the printing press Protestants who protest the Catholic Church printed up bibles misinterpreting them however they chose & created thousands of conflicting Protestant denominations. There are dozens of holidays with similar history, Halloween for one such example has long been labeled a devil's holiday because of it's association with witchcraft and devil worship (not all of which is justified). I doubt many of us now would consider kids dressing up to get candy satanic. It's not the holiday's tradition it's the context in which you celebrate it. Believe me, I hate Islam just as much, but in my experience "they hate anyone who doesn't believe in god" also applies to Christians. I used to be christian and most of them did seem just fine.
