I've done this a few times and it actually works better if you apply color, then a top coat adding the net while its still wet to hold it down, then apply your color, remove the net, it keeps the colors from merging. plus base and final top coat of course.

it would look 500 times better if you painted you nails with one colour, let them dry, then painted them with the other colour you want and THEN put the netting over them and waited for it to dry.

It look like the first coat was messed up by the second coat I think u shouldv.e after putting the black put the diamond shape thing on then paint over it remove the thing and leave it it works better

Don't wanna tell you how to do your stuff, but if I could just suggest using the actual sponge method? put polish on paper and dab the sponge in the polish, tap of the excess and then dab it on the nail.

it will look less smugged up, you will get a better pattern and the design will look better. :)

I think that is sooooo HOT, you know I gotta try it! I'm going for black and silver for my first try. BTW...it doen't look messy at all to me, but maybe cause I do things that are a lot more messy....like the water marbling....that's a pain in the ass mess!

It is brilliant. Love this result. You are super creative.

I am going to try this using nail paints (as these are acrylic water based) instead of nail polish on top of the black. (the problem with nail polish is that as it is alcohol based it removes the colour underneath) but in your case it was great for the "snake" effect.
