@CASEYELLOW007 Yeah, they have a background check but it doens't mean you will be DQed. It depends on what it was for, if it was for weed you might get in, I say just go ahead and try and most likely you will get in.
@13wraps i'm on felony probation but i received deffered ajudication probation,which means that as long as i dont violate and successfully complete probation the felony will not be on my record. If someone did a backgroubd check it would only show the record of arrest with a 'case dismissed' after completion of probation.
@CASEYELLOW007 i still wouldnt get my hopes up if i were you. im goin to try agin this october and see if they will be let just geds in agin. their recruiting needs/quotas/whatever goes from october to october depending on what they need
whats really frustrating for me is that the biggest reason so many of the ppl that are joining is JUST and ONLY so they can have a job. not to serve, not to do any good, but just for a paycheck. they could care less about the military or the guy next to them.

@CASEYELLOW007 According the Army, you have a felony conviction. Deferred adjucation is considered a guilty verdict by the Army and all other federal government agencies. There is no such thing as removed from record, there is always a paper trail. Further...you can say fuck the US military, but you made the mistake, were convicted and now must live with the consequences. You don't end up on probation for 7 years by not being guilty of something or not being culpable. It doesn't work that way.

The felony still remains on your record, just not one that is searchable my MOST civilian agencies. Some can see it, like those would license you to sell financial products. There is no such thing as truly having anything removed from your record. It's just a matter of WHO can view it.

@13wraps Well,if you gonna start with excuses,you might as well don't even join the military.I had the same situation 1 year ago,even worst,I weighted 250 pounds with a GED diploma.Now I have 45 credits (still the army only approved me 20) and now I weight 175 pounds,And you know what?,nobody helped me at all,I did it by all by myself,its just a matter of self motivation.Now I'm proud of what I've done,nobody can take that away from me,20111025 Fort Benning 11B OSUT HOOA!

i tried joining last year and this year and they told me if you have a ged you have to have 15 college credits as well and no criminal background.
i have the ged and no criminal background but def do not have the 15 college creds. -.- sucks
