  • I rode mine in a blizzard in Indiana. I looked like an ice cube when I gave up/

  • This is a hard way to have fun--many difficult spots, looks like very little fun.

  • @jmshaw357 It is all how you define fun... I was having a BLAST!

  • The dl1000 is ROAD BIKE

  • it is too heavy for trail, prefers a bmw 650gs, saw how the guy almost fell

  • Yeah I agree with foska, excellent control of the bike, big bike too.

  • I love my Vstrom- think I'll go for a ride now. Catch yers :)

  • You make throwing such a big bike around look way too wasy

  • You must have eatin your wheatees today. That bike is heavy. I had a 650 for awhile, loved it. I had tons of power with it, cant imagine the need for the 1000. You owned it though! Will check out your other vids.

  • Finally, I've watch a few off road riding videos on youtube and haven't been overly impressed with the skill level, I take my hat off to you, nice job!

Sound track went well with the vid too!

  • Thanks... not often I can coax someone to hold the camera

  • Jerry Lee Lewis.. cool soundtrack!

  • Great...you did it...:)))) good skills, but i think TCK-tires helped a lot also...

  • The rider on the yellow DRZ tried to bring out his strom but with 80/20 tires he couldn't even move. The TKC's were 20 miles old when we took this video

  • offcourse that need skills end experience( 5* from me), its a heavy bike with SV heart and expressive gearbox, i have trying to play in mud with stock tires, but no chance...

    Keep on Riding!...greetings from AL

  • lol video, i like it!

    :)

  • come on! come on!..2:36 haha cute video

  • I'm thinking about trading my BMW K1200lt for a DL 1000. Are they buzzy on the road? Do they vibrate much? I have carpal tunnel issues and cant buy one if they vibrate too much. Looks like you have tons of fun with yours.

  • I traded over to a BMW F800GS since this video. The V Strom did much better off road than I would have expected provided the going was slow but after riding 900miles offroad in Baja it was time to switch over. As for the vibration the VStrom was as excellent road bike if not a little bit pedestrian. The Beemer is buzzy teh 'Strom was smooth or chunky but never buzzy.

  • @btkacs what do you think of the beemer it has a bit of a hefty price tag is it worth it. I am looking to get into the adventure touring.

  • Nice to see someone who knows how to get "back down" a hill. Kudos for you- It take a little effort to put these large bike through the off-road stuff. A friend and I took a pair of '96 Triumph Tigers trough an off-road section of Death Valley one summer. 10 hours to go 40 miles. I managed to stay up-right, but he sheared everything (turn signals, brake lever, etc.) off both sides of the motorcycle.

    _cheers!!!

  • I have one... I wanted a challenge, anyone can ride a dirtbike offroad

  • been there... done that... dl650 tough.. you got skills (i did fell)... great video. (hell of a time aint it?)

  • sweet you made it

  • i think you should stand up climing up the hill, put you body mass on the front wheels.

  • Congratulations do you is guy.

  • ..Yessss,,man..great..!!

    i know this difficulty..

    bravo!

  • Impressive, great skills.

  • The 'Strom is a heavy bike to muscle around like that. Looks like fun.

  • @UBObfuscated I have trouble with my bike that weighs 430 pounds, how on earth you can do that and not fall is a big question mark.

  • Great riding! Nice persistance and experience shown, while holding and turning the bike!

  • Looks like fun!

Great choice of music. Matched the video perfectly!

  • Really enjoyable -- I have a Strom but would never do what you do! Do you give lessons?

    LOL

  • Funny you should ask... I am an instructor for Puget Sound Safety and teach dirtbike classes and teach during their 2-day adventure camp for riders new to riding 500lb adventure bikes and dual-sport bikes offroad. I did post a Utube on the intermediate school. It is titled; Intermediate dirtbike school... a video preview, or do a search with my name (Bret Tkacs)

  • respect

  • Awesome riding!

  • Thanks... this was my first ride on the Strom.
