What a lovely rendition of what I already knew was a terrific song. Tennessee Ernie Ford did the version I was raised on, which I looked high and low to get on CD and finally did. But this is awesome. the sound is incredibly pristine, for what must be an absolutely prehistoric record. Some_ needle scratch lends authenticity, but if the scratch is overpowering it ruins the entire experience. This is incredible.
Beautiful song to hear this Sunday morning. Thanks!!

This is the second time I posted it. The first one was lacking in sound quality, so glad you liked it.

Thanks so much for reposting . This is the only place I've heard it since I was about 5 or 6 years old.

This is so beautiful. I have a lump in my throat just listening to it.
A lovely story so worthy of telling and done so majestically in song.
God Bless.
