jarriano how old are you? Do you fallow the career of Nickos Gallis ? He wasn't a point guard he was a shooting guard. No body can compares Sabas with Gallis they played diferents positions. Sabas was one of the greatest centers in european basketball history and Gallis was one of the greatest shooting guards in european basketball history. You can compare Gallis with Petriovic and you can compare Sabas with Divac or the great Vladimir Tkachenko. But Petrovic was more complete player that Gallis

marios1992 dont get me wrong i know that NICKOS GALLIS WAS GREAT. I just think that he was the greatest shooter of all time but not the greatest player. I am tellling you this because I saw him played when I i was playing for the Puerto Rico national team back in 1986. I am a Nickos Gallis fan but facts are facts. But you are right in somthing GREECE won the euro in 1987. I still think that he was great but there a lots of players better than Gallis including Drazen Petrovic and Oscar Smith.

mr mario1992 dont a fan de realystic scoring is not the only thing that a player must have, the only thing Gallis do well was shooting and scoring but nothing else. If you see the Greece team today, now they are a much better team and they dont have a Gallis in there team. With Gallis they were never be able to win medals in eurobasket or world championships or olimpics. There was another player better than Gallis. Sabonis and the GREAT OSCAR SMITH who has score more than 48000 points career.

Sorry marios1992 Nick Gallis was the best shooter or ofensive player but Drazen Petrovic was much complete player than Gallis. Gallis can score 40 or 30 points a game but he dont pass a ball. Petrovic can easy avg 25 to 30 points and 7 to 9 assist per game. Gallis played for him self Petrovic play for his team to win. Gallis was a sniper shooter.

marios1992gate13 i will dissagree with u. Nick Gallis was really good shooting guard, but have u seen Sabonis in about 88? Have u seen what Sabonis was doing in NBA when he was with "one" leg? The only Europian player who can be compared to Sabas is Drazen Petrovic and in my opinion Sabas was better cause he played for the Team.

Points isnt everything. Drazen Petrovic (RIP) was the best shooting guard in European history (in my opinion) because of his imba points collecting mashine and still Sabonis is much popular because of his universal skills. Pass, 3 points shooting, dribling, speed (when he was healthy) and i can gurantee u wouldnt expect it from 220 cm (7'3). Have u ever seen such skills in Center?

Yeah yeah. I saw those games. Yes it was fantastic game for basketball naabs Greece because of Galis. But still i would compare Galis only with Drazen Petrovic and Sarunas Marciulionis, but not with Sabas. Arvydas Sabonis was (and is) living legend of European basketball who shown that not only USA players can play basketball. And u should know how good someone should be (in basketball) to be named as the best European basketball player by USA players and journalists.

Anyone who's ever seen Sabonis, says, he was the best center of all time had he played in the nba. Bill Walton called him a 7ft Larry Bird. He had everything. He was Nowitzki plus inside game, toughness, passing, rebounding, and blocking. It's a shame he never got the opportunity to play in his prime. They say Michael Jordan send him Christmas gifts for not playing. He would have won easily 2 championships. It's really sad. Fucking politics!!!!
