If I set the coordinates for a missile to hit a State in America, it's going to hit a state in America, not somewhere in Europe. People create Viruses. They have targets. Each system is constructed in different manners for one virus code to effectively hit all OS'.
I mean seriously if this isn't true why is Linux even lower than Mac in this whole virus scandal? It just so happens Linux sales even lower than Macs and gets even lower records in viruses.
I'm both a Mac user and a PC user... In March I got a new MacBook, and I have a Toshiba, a Dell, a 1995 Gateway 2000 PC, and parts of another Dell. I love them both, Mac is super easy and fast and has almost no problems except compatibility, and my PC's are pretty good in the case of programs, designing, compatibility, and mostly gaming. I run Windows Vista Home Basic Pre-installed by Toshiba, it's OK but I wish I at least had something else... and I have Windows 7 on it, it's awesome.
well i know this might bring up a lotta people gettin mad at me, but anyway, i used windows me, xp, and then vista and saw 7, but i now use mac. i just found mac to be way easier to understand and so are the programs. and update. and even if mac and pc were 50/50 on the population size, pc would get more, for they have a worse firewall. so, if you really ike gaming, pc, or like i did get paralels, even tho it aint AS good, theres also bootcamp. hope you read this, latr
Mac OS has been running in Windows/PCs longer than Windows has been on a Mac... it's called Hackintosh.
Anyways, I used to be a Mac fanboy, Hackintoshing when I couldn't afford a Mac and buying a Macbook Pro when I had enough... but there's a surge of Mac viruses appearing and I got infected... Macs are easy to use but they're inexperienced with dealing with malware, so. Just a heads up for you to use discretion rather than be like me and think my mac was invincible.
Neither, I use Linux. Gives me total freedom over my system, and lets me be free from the headaches of Windows. Its faster, more efficient, and just works. My distro of choice is Ubuntu. Its fantastically simple to learn how to use, much more so than Windows. Also, its completely free :)
I am a Mac user. I have experience with Windows and don't really like it. I had to restart often, finding my thumb drive was confusing, and the firewall stuff was annoying.
You can run Windows on a Mac. I heard this and was blown away. Plus, since my dad is a network engineer and Macs have the Unix stuff he works with. Plus, on Windows, you have to install drivers and stuff for cameras and other devices. On Macs, it JUST WORKS. Nothing to install or upgrade. And Macs don't get viruses.
@Texarmageddon there are only like 10 viruses for macs. mac own 5% of marketshare. windows has tens of thousands of viruses when if macs and windows pcs had equal security, windows should have had only 180 viruses. macs are more secure. deal with it
@Texarmageddon well, for my pc, if it wasn't for my antivirus i would've gotten like 50 viruses a shitload, and i'm not a noob, no. i just said that if macs don't get viruses JUST BECAUSE they're a smaller part of marketshare it should have thousands of viruses, but it doesn't
@K2ACP Am I saying the software sucks? No, but believe me if a person wanted "IN" on your computer they would get it. My 95 on down to win 7 has never had anti-virus as frankly computers practically TELL you something isn't safe. Why attack the smaller share of computers huh? Why don't people understand that the main targets are Windows because they are in 90% percent of most households? Compatibility works both ways for programs and viruses.
@Texarmageddon that's because you're lucky, on my PC i downloaded a few what i thought were legit applications, mainly what i thought was a legit VLC download, it was a worm, i could've gotten fucked up. luckily i had antivirus :) but that means i had to shell out a hundred a year for an antivirus (bitdefender in Canada) there is still a threat and i don't care how careful you are, you can still get a virus. if you use Linux, BSD or Macintosh OS, then you don't have that risk.
They don't get viruses because people don't make viruses for mac. If you were a criminal making viruses, you would make them for the majority of computer users, which use windows. (It's a fact, I'm not bashing mac)
There's where you're wrong. Apple is encouraging people to get antivirus software for their Macs (albeit these are to prevent spreading to PCs) and 10.6.2 had a virus scanner in it.
Unfortunately, my macbook pro got mac malware which corrupted the kernel. When I posted it on Apple discussion forums, I was banned for creating a prone to being flamed topic, and for trying to cause panic in the Apple community lol. censorship... i hope karma bites them in the ass...
@tomtomwolfwolf no, it uses microsoft, the whole world other than the US use linux. china even has it's own government operating system for it's security, it's based on BSD, and it kinda looks like XP (taskbar) the rest of it looks like macintosh
think about it this way man, windows vista was "in my opinion" a huge BETA release for windows 7, basically i took the cool things form vista and used it in 7 and then found out all it bugs and fixed it in windows 7. end result a good looking operating system that doesn't slow you pc down, crash or have software issues. im using the R/C 7000 beta version of 7 and i have no probs so the full version must be extremely win.
i have windows 7 and its GREAT its the best thing better than all the windows and faster! And its free, not like the extreme expensive mac,or hard to pay windows.
Do you guys know microsoft had a UNIX system before?its called xenix,i dont know why they let it go.
I use windows. I have had a mac, and from experiance its more targeted for the.. leisurely artistic things. Where as PC is more of a, programming and gaming.
Not to say im a mac basher, But it seems like mac's OS is more of a "here lets take your hand and walk you through everything, although you cant do as much as quickly as you might want it.." and PC's are more along the lines of:
"you can do tons and tons of shet.. but like hell if im gonna tell you all that, Read the manual."
I am a systems administrator, so by default I use Microsoft products. This is due entirely to the fact that Mac does not work in an enterprise environment where restrictions, security and networking are key.
For a home user, mac or windows will work fine. For games, I would stick with windows, although more titles are coming out for mac.
Windows 7 is awesome. I've been working with it since beta and so far I think it is great. I don't think its the best for laptops yet though.
Its great. I am a Windows User. I love windows. i grew up on windows and still growing up. I will never let go of windows. I promise to windows that I will never choose MAc over Windows, I will never switch. Windows 7 is great, u should get it. It never crashes, i have used till beta, It hasn't crashed for me. There is no BSOD. Its more Reliable and secured. Its faster. The superbar is great. Looks like mac because it has icons but it works way dofferently. U should get windows 7
I'm a Mac and Windows user. I prefer Mac because it's based on BSD and is far more reliable than Windows. It's better for video encoding, because video encoding uses the GPU instead of the CPU (only on Mac). It's better for Audio, because the audio stack has far less latency.
Windows 7 is actually pretty good compared to Vista. It runs faster and better on 2Gigs of RAM than Vista ever did. The new start menu is a little bit like whoa that's the dock from OS X, but it works I guess.
When I make it Bomb and plan for it to blow up at 10:00 it's going to blow up at 10:00
