  • my 3 month old baby is laughing her lil head off right now lol

  • FUCK YEAH 0:14

  • It is amazing to think that this song is 30 years old, oh my god!

  • A true classic from a time when nearly every song in the charts was great. This evokes so many happy memories for me! I wonder if folk will be posting positive comments about todays music in 30 years time because most of it is pretty forgettable.

  • I'm still in love with his tan lines<3

  • Wow, the Pi Kappa Alpha talent show!

  • Nick always makes me smile when I see this video!

The little side glances to the camera and a little smirk is what I like most about this video.

The song is great too! :-D

  • Nick and mates put out some great tunage... Nick went on to create many more great songs as a solo artist

  • there is a black man on your video

  • I realise the drummer in the video is black, but this music is soooo white. Without a bad attitude and negative vibes. This is the least "gangster" tune on the planet. I absolutely love it : )

  • The music just sticks in your head all day long, Awesome!

  • Who pays any attention to the ads? there annoying and i dont realy want to buy want there selling...i just want to watch this...fuck your product up your anus with a barbed wire dildo

  • Loved this priceless piece of pop from the one hit wonder, Haircut 100. Totally fun video and a great bouncy song to dance to! Miss the 80's something awful!

  • @rpscot55 They were not one hit wonders though. Fantastic Day was a hit too. There may be others but I can't be arsed Googling them.

  • @veda1954 Favourite Shirts was a big hit for them too and Nick Heyward also had a few solo songs like Warning Sign and Blue Hat for a Blue Day too...

  • @JeffersA1 and Whistle Down the Wind was a great song by Nick too.

  • RAPE RAPE RAPE RAPE

  • @DirgeNYS lol, its ring, not rape

  • I guess the 80s weren't so bad after all lol

  • original hipsters.

  • See Ocean Blue besides somethin and nothin same genre

  • love the bass line!

  • LMAO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HIS FACE!!! THE MUSIC!!! IT'S ALLSO FUNNY HAHAHAHA!!!!

  • I was one of the guys in the skeleton suits dancing around the culdren. I got paid $35.00 for the day, and was on the set waiting for 9 hours.

  • @KarmaCollin you should have 'chinned' Hayward.

  • If we all dressed like the Xylophone man in this vid there would be no war...it would be impossible to get angry in those clothes.

  • When you look at this, do you get the feeling the musicians were used as chumps and are probably working as bus boys at a restraunt this very moment?

  • Its funny that this was on Se7en's soundtrack.

  • wow.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! i have no other words for this video.....

  • im 23 and i love the 80's music

  • 30 seconds for an advert? I'll take 30 seconds to say Go Fuck Yourself then

  • god damn.... as a youngster born in 1991

I got to admit 80's music was the BEST..

    it was just so original.

  • Gadzzz...... I remember this jam...

  • i like the bass in this....tight!!

  • What in the world are the girls in bikinis doing there?!?!?

  • 11 OUT OF 10.

  • I have had this song stuck in my head. Took me hours to find it by lyrics.. Finally figured it out. Thanks for posting it. Release the earworm. LOL

  • little trivia, the first song on played the day MTV debuted was Video Killed the Radio Star. This song was next.

  • @mmccmack1994 No it wasn't. The 2nd song on MTV was "You Better Run" by Pat Benatar. Besides, this song is from 1982. MTV started in 1981. Get your facts straight next time.

  • One Of the Best 80s songs ever made!

  • Pelican West is an amazing album

  • Slightly dodgy group, but this song is really catchy, love the horn section towards the end and must not forget the great underrated drummer Blair Cunningham...

  • I heard this tonight in Forever 21, lol.

  • Oh my childhood !!

  • this was one of the songs that was in the background on the movie seven / great song even if you turn it up loud no distortion.

  • Ok, this might seem incredibly weird but I liked this song more after I heard it in the pizza shop scene in Seven! Anyone else?:D

  • @hellradiolives yeah man same here !!!

  • Okay , it's probably been pointed out in this thread before but I have to keep it fresh . Can I get at least ONE thumbs up from anyone who catches the drummer at 0:12-0:14 gleefully smiling at the camera as he hits the hi-hat while we are serenaded with the thump of an electric snare drum ? It's second only to the drummer from Culture club COMPLETELY missing the snare during that "live" performance on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve in ' 83 !!!

  • @torgo4ever You have to be kidding Me right ? You're comparing one the most competent and demanded drummers in the biz to Jon Moss of Culture Club ? What Blair does in the Vid is completely tongue in cheek. Blair Cunningham was the drummer that was called in by A & R /Producers when bands on the same label couldn't cut it with a studio recording and had to have Blair come in and finish the track for them. Blair was and still is one of the best drummers. Just so you know :)

  • OMG that bearded guy was in the video for the ABC song Look of Love! From the same year! Seems like music videos was his thing in 1982. lol

  • como uma musica consegue ser boa com um xilofone e um saxofone?

  • why must record companies make great musicians look like a bunch of nerds on acid. I like this song a lot but now I have to close my eyes and listen.

  • perfect song, note for note. yes it is. yes it is...!

  • Some of the best songs to come out in the 80's were one hit wonders! Not every band is going to make the top ten but that never mattered to any of us because I believe alot of us back then just lived and loved every song. We werent looking for the most famous band just awesome music to dance to or skate to or just plain enjoy! And I skated my heart out to this song with my friends or danced my heart out at the school dances! Oh what a time that was for us then. The best memories. :-)

  • This song is note for note perfect! Close your eyes and listen to it from beginning to end. It couldn't be improved upon in any way. This is one of my favorite gems from the early 80s!

  • Love this song! But seriously, how did "whoever remastered this video" not notice the video needs to be brightened up!? It couldn't be any darker!

  • where'd you find this?????

  • Comment removed

  • 3:06 frickn serial killer!

  • they've walked through a portal and been transported back in time to the age of the dinosaurs judging by this video lol, maybe that's why we haven't heard anything from them since 82? maybe they're still there?

  • brilliant,a sea of sweaters !

  • Oh when will they bring the high waistband back? Simon Cowel has done nothing for this style and it needs to be readdressed.

  • i rememebr tucking my jumper into my trousers; lol

  • One of the greatest bands, plus master rhythm guitar work on all of their tunes.

  • im on hydrocodone. almost on their level.

  • The saxomophone saves this song. I was like "What the fuck is this shit" until that sax-solo in the beginning.

  • This is why I wanna go back to my care-free 80s childhood... The music was so incredible! Which is also why my mp3 is loaded with 702 80s only songs! Can you beat that? (^_^)

  • ME ENCANTA ESTA CANCIÓN!!!!!!!

  • Very funny chef...I don't agree w/you but i'm laughing my ass off...

  • lol nikasaur post

  • Story time! This song was stuck in my head, but the chorus lyrics are unintelligible. I try to search for lyrics of what it might be, and it doesn't work... Desperately, I google "80's song with violin." The second result is a message board post of a guy who has a song stuck in his head, can't figure it out, and describes it strangely like my same problem. 5 pages of posts later, he finds the song... AND IT IS THIS SONG! THE ONE IN MY HEAD! The internet is magic.

  • i struggle to hear a violin

  • @NikaHarper Violin? Do you mean the saxophone? LOL

  • nika brought me here :)

  • thumbs up if you agree that 20 sec in it is the cheesiest 70s porno music youve ever heard?

i can almost envisage a random mans hairy buttocks moving back and forth, blocking the scene.

  • @steveshark1978 ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @steveshark1978 i'm laughing my buttocks off reading your comment. that was funny............

  • These fuckers are on prozac and fresh underwear.

  • @TheSwearingChef Lmmfao

  • @TheSwearingChef Lmmfao

  • You don't see bands today utilize, let alone understand how to use, many different instruments. The bands of the 80s had REAL musicians. And there was little to NO autotuning. They had to have a real talent for singing, too!

  • @mudderof7

I agree with you 100%. At the start of the video that is the first thing I thought of, all the different instruments.

I had not heard this song in ages. It is a new wave classic of the early 80's. What a great song. I don't care what negative comments are made of the video, it was made in the infancy of MTV. The music stands on its own.

  • Vampire Weekend!...Wait a minute..

  • @Octopodaex

Yeah. This is where they got their sound. And from Altered Images.

  • Where does it go from here, is it down to the lake I fear?

  • I love this song

  • The pants. OMG, the pants! I remember when this song come out. Geez, I'm old! lol

  • this songs sucks. i dont know why people make bad music. I blame the record labels.

  • @royalnaz1 u feel that way, you must be very young..yes, today it sounds dated, i was 10 when it came out, i fell in love with it.. i love the xylophone, and more than that, singer Nick Heyward's quite an interesting guy..the video is too cool, typical 80's.. but yes, i hear ya, on radio today, would sound to many people like... "wtf??" lol

  • +1

  • They hit #37 in Billboard, 8-7-82. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • Like if listening in 2011

  • @spiketrooper21

No; we're listening to it in 1954, dumbass.

  • One of the most charming tracks I've ever heard!!!!!

  • haven't heard this song in a while, but keep hearing it in my head LOL it's been driving me nuts!

  • crrrrap now and back then.

  • 50.22.36.159:25647

  • It really is a complex and wonderful song. I mean the music. The lyrics suck lets face it but the music and melody are amazing

  • @brchris69 I do. As a singer/songwriter, he can be lacking definitely. The music is correct though. But other 80s acts have lyrics every bit as cool as the music, by they are far less feted.

  • It really is a complex and wonderful song.

  • Wow, after all this time of first hearing this in the early 80's, first time I ever saw the video.

I would never associated this gay song with headhunters and tropical islands, lol.

  • @verbusen You are a douche

  • good ol' times

  • This song is so good it is almost uncanny. Subtle. Understated. Somehow just enjoyable.

  • About the Falklands War, apparently. Somehow.

  • cute nerds

  • @lippy170 enjoy yourself lippy!

  • @lippy170 lol

  • Crotch shot at 1:11

  • One of the first bands with a number in their name, which has become an annoying trend.

  • Thumbs down to anyone asking for thumbs up !

  • gay as fuck

  • @jonnyhotdog YES YOU ARE ARNT YOU

  • this is the greatest song of all time!

  • I think it would have been cool if the video featured Nick driving down PCH in a convertible singing away, then a shot of the band playing on a beach on a sunny day with chicks in bikinis dancing around them and the chicks running into the ocean in slow motion. It would be 100 times better than this shittastic video!

  • its so cheesy, you've gotta adore it. thumbs up if this song automatically makes you smile (:

  • @bethlovespunk007 But you - like so many others who diss, e.g. the 1650s, 60s, 70s, 80s, etc - speak with not the slightest knowledge let alone understanding of the times in which things happened. Trust me: in 20-25 years' time everything you today think is 'cool' o0r whatever will seem and be condemned by the teenies of the time) as 'crap', 'cheesy', and so on....

  • nerdiest band I've ever seen and , yes, I am aware of Devo. I dig the horns though.

  • Ah those were the days. When xylophone dudes could wear pants up to their chests, and bands actually had xylophone dudes.
