  • I am from Grand Junction, now living in DC. This is so sad. KREX was the only TV media game in town until around 1979 when other local affiliates started appearing. Good luck rebuilding guys. I look forward to seeing your new building when I go home next time. all the best....

  • Very sad....I started my career at KREX in the mid-80s, working at the TV station as well as KREX-AM and FM! It was a great opportunity and I am saddened to see the building I spent so much time in gone. I'm just glad no one was hurt.

  • My first real TV gig was at KREX from 1990 to 1992. The building truly had character. It was a collection of dozens of additions and renovations over time. If I remember correctly, there something like 10 separate sets of stairs, differing levels of false floors and ceilings, and various rooms on slightly different levels. We'd always find new nooks & crannies. There was a lot of history there.

Remember the Winnebago Man? Jack Rebney? He was actually our news director for a time.

  • I got my start at KREX in 1995 and it is very sad to see it in rubble. Glad everyone got out safely. Good luck rebuilding.

  • My thoughts are with you guys. I can't imagine losing my newsroom. Fight the good fight, you will grow as journalists and Human Beings. We all root for the underdog.

    See you on TV,
