There is something wrong in the HTML you copied. You might have left off a closure like >, they highlight the problem in RED so you can see where the mistake is. Go back and copy the html again and try again. If that doesn't work, go to my youtube video's and watch the other video I made about changing your background. It's more up to date...

i suggest u type it in search thingy.. like u type in: blogger templates, then u scroll down u see then after that by the left corner u cn see the options already.. :) k? Good luck!! i can already.. next time if this happens to you just remember; All u have to do is try.. almost 4 minutes of this video is about finding a template she likes... lol. Thanks for the video though...

Fast forward to ca 3:30 and u get what u are looking for.

Still easier go to Layout and click edit HTML, and delete what is there and paste the HTML of the template of your choice. Better keep a copy of the HTML before u delete, in case u mess up and want to start fresh at a later stage.

I tried to make a new blog using a template, and it still gave me the option for layout. I tried to change my layout for one of my blogs, and it did the same thing to me! It only let me choose template. I fiddled around with it changing to different templates until it gave me the option to choose layout. Try choosing the minima template and see if it lets you choose layout. I think it was a glitch in the system.

Hi around 4:24 it says your widgets will be deleting, what are the things that will be deleted? Also, Im really new to blogger and I know how to make my own html layout myself without going to websites, but it just wont work. Is there any extra codes that I should know?

Widgets are the little additions you add to your blog like "stickers", music, pictures etc on the top bottom or sides of your posts. You might have to re-add them to your blog after changing the layout. I'm not up to date with the adding my own html code, so I'm no help with that, sorry!

You have to look way over to the right under the name of your blog, or when you are posting, there are tabs at the top of the page. One says layout. When you are in the dashboard though under the name of your blog it says -new post- edit posts- settings- layout- view blog. Just click on layout and follow the rest of the instructions!

Blogger did that to me when I tried to change one of my blogs recently. I kept changing templates until it gave me the option to choose layout! I just created a brand new blog using a template from blogger and it automatically gave me the layout option. Try that and let me know if it works. Sorry I couldn't be more help!
