Yep thank and all because the doctors were able to lower his body temperature in order that the injury didn't swell and put pressure on his spine which would have made him paralyzed for life. That's just amazing in 3 months he's walking, but its going to take years before he gets all his mobility back.

Thank goodness the paramedic team and Millard Fillmore Hospital here did a great job stabilizing him and now he is back home in Houston. He's an offensive player being asked to make a tackle. This is the problem with having a 53-man roster. These guys are typically backups, both offense and defense, who want the job very badly. Inherently, special teams is the highest impact and most likely play to incur injury.

I just feel lucky to have my health. The injuries i have suffered still pain me to this day but compared to what Kevin Everett is going through I wont complain. I heard that during his surgery they put Everett's body into a controlled hypothermia, lowering his body a few degrees, while performing surgery. Somehow this is more efficient.. if someone could enlighten me on this it would be nice.

Kramer, they pump very cold saline into the area surrounding the spine. This prevents swelling. Also, he had some bone fragmentation around his spinal cord, so stopping that swelling kept those fragments from digging into the spinal cord and futher damaging it. It's just too bad that we can't ALL receive that kind of medical care. I am NOT begrudging Kevin Everett his care, I just know that if I got hurt, there would be none of those cutting edge medical practices. Much love to Kevin, though.

When he walks today, it will mean as much to me as the Sean Taylor 10 man defense tribute. The last time I cried was when my son was born in 2002, but when he spoke on Monday Night football, I cried. Big time. This is a true miracle. Props to the medical team, and The Bills organization, for giving $ to The Boinocotti Foundation in Miami. They saved a life for sure.

i watched that game and was horrified when i saw Kevin down. the care he received on the field was awesome. i hope he completely recovers. the bills medical staff has to be among the best in football. for the bills fans i am glad everything is ok. i heard kevin is going to make an appearance at the giants game. the place should be fired up! beat the g men.

Yep thank and all because the doctors were able to lower his body temperature in order that the injury didn't swell and put pressure on his spine which would have made him paralyzed for life. That's just amazing in 3 months he's walking, but its going to take years before he gets all his mobility back.

I was at the game and this was the scariest thing one can watch and do nothing about. Thank goodness the paramedic team and Millard Fillmore Hospital here did a great job stabilizing him and now he is back home in Houston. I does not bother me we lost the game or if we win another one this season just as long as he is able to make as much of a recovery as possible. Get well Kevin.

He's an offensive player being asked to make a tackle. This is the problem with having a 53-man roster. These guys are typically backups, both offense and defense, who want the job very badly. Inherently, special teams is the highest impact and most likely play to incur injury.

I love football and i always want to go out and hit hard and have fun, Stuff like this really makes you take stock of the commitments and the risks involved in playing football. I just feel lucky to have my health. The injuries i have suffered still pain me to this day but compared to what Kevin Everett is going through I wont complain. Best wishes to a brother in the fellowship of gridiron players, I pray for a speedy recovery, and i hope that Kevin makes a full recovery.
