This is not from a concert...it's just this one song, they played 4 shows with the symphony, 2 i San Fran, 1 in new york an 1 in Berlin, Germany. This performance is from las vegas for mtv awards or something like that, just this one song. :)

i disappear & symphony, desde luego en San Francisco, si mal no recuerdo en el 97...la formula estuvo buena..pero en realidad no dio tantos resultados. Luego , el año siguiente se proyectabas con el S&M. Es decir,esto que estan vuendo eran pruebas pilotos, asi misos deben haber 4 o 5...entre ellas "fire fire with fire", derrocada por batery!!

this is the first time I ever saw metallica on television. I was in 4th grade. then got the black album as a gift. Second was S&M...LOVE Metallica with the San Francisco Symphony. They are the only band in my opinion that can pull it off. Its an amazing element added to their music.

Pretty sure the ones from the DVD were the same show just the first and second half of the show which if you look at the cover of any of the S&M discs you can see that there was a 15 miniute intermission between sets, and you can see the goofy looking guy in the audience who is wearing the same clothes who has the Metallica license plate.

Pity they couldn't make another album with the symphony with different songs, after nearly 10 years I still can't get over the lack of any Kill 'em All songs on S&M.

Apart from Ktulu, which sounded awesome, there was nothing else that was really different from the non-symphony setlists of the time.

Imagine how the symphony would sound during Creep, Seek or Justice! I wonder if any St. Anger and Death Magnetic songs would fit if they could do another symphony concert.
