Very interesting. I think calling it a shield isn't right though as some people have mentioned. First of all you need the center of it to not get hot if you are to protect whatever will be in the middle. Second, it might stop living flesh from getting past it, but you can easily poke through it with a simple metal rod.
Cool though, I'd love to see it work in real life.
@Wolfenion If it had computer controls it could increase the power output (via a capacitor or buffer of some kind) whenever something comes in contact with it, if you were able to increase the power by a few factors it would self-ground to active and possibly begin to melt metal :)
But yes, it requires more research, Im sadly busy with my university work :(
@Aedazan See "The College Conspiracy" on youtube, then drop out and start working on your ideas instead. You will go much farther if you shun a quackademic degree, they have now become absolutely useless and laughable! Blessings
@Aedazan This is Ipossible on a large scale..Just because of the power needed...A Elctromagnetic force field would be better..requires less energy..But if you could have a Nuclear fusion generator this would work...
love the idea of manipulating the manetic web all over earth like two magnets pushing or repeling each other same theory plasma type bubble with a pod centered within the bubbleall magnetically bending the fabric of magnatismand plasma bubble will give you a atmosphere within our atmosphere big enough to fit a pod or ship in the travel features would be endless somehow riding on the earths natural magnetical field or repelent earths core is a huge magnet we should b able to manipulate and ride
@501stlegioncommander Electricity is such a boring term. Think of it as a flow of electrons. The stream of electrons is extremely thin and super heats the surrounding air where it flows.
Magnetic fields only follow from electric currents in the plasma. No current, no magnetic field. Plasma itself is not necessarily "magnetic," though it is certainly more highly susceptible to various electromagnetic effects and the influence of electric or magnetic fields. But it doesn't have an inherent magnetic field. That only comes from currents flowing through it, if any.
You should try to include diamagnetic materials in these experiments. I know that bismuth is such an item. It's is quite cheap, but I don't know if it's toxic or not.
@PsionNinja bismuth is used as a replacement for lead in many industrial processes due to safety concerns. Due to that I would imagine that it is far less toxic.
It holds in an Atmosphere very well, which makes it perfect for landing bays, or artificial-glass for spacecraft, or at higher energy, force fields for passive-defence for aircraft, ships, or spacecraft. Or how about a body-shield, as in DUNE?
I know. That is how sonic-boom is canceled in Stealth aircraft, and also softening or elimination or radar-cross-section. Work done in 1960s by Northrup Aircraft Corporation, and the Marshall space flight center in Huntsville, AL.
I was thinking of setting up something like this using a rodin coil with a secondary winding like a tesla coil in the center just to see if it would have the same effect ? Nice job keep it up!!
lol. thats normal plasma. yeah its hot! but there is quark-gluon plasma [different kind] (found only in the center of a neutron star). its WAYYY hotter than that!!!
this will make one bad ass school project, i better get cracking lol

you could use it as a containment field for a Farnsworth Fusor.....
Keep experimenting and reading
many have forgotten all of the breakthroughs that were made in the last 50 years, yet were never marketed...

its not literally a shield, its a single arc that is rotating around the field of the magnet roughly 30 thousand times per second

Were did u get that magnet from
IAbominator 1 year ago
@IAbominator you could get a high quality magnet from many sources, it's probably a Neodymium (rare earth) magnet.

ok o is plasma a gas? or does plasma emit from the magnet when electricity makes contact?
501stlegioncommander 2 years ago
@501stlegioncommander plasma is the 4th state of matter. It it (in this case) super heated air which has lost its electrons and is highly magnetic.
Aedazan 2 years ago
well then how did you super heat the air? the electricity?
501stlegioncommander 2 years ago
@501stlegioncommander Electricity is such a boring term. Think of it as a flow of electrons. The stream of electrons is extremely thin and super heats the surrounding air where it flows.
Aedazan 2 years ago
@Aedazan It superheats the air and in doing so it lowers the resistance of the air allowing a greater flow of current.

@Aedazan throw some paper into it

Beamshipcaptain 2 years ago
@Beamshipcaptain Due to the nature of electrons it does infact repel normal air
(non ionized air (I havnt tried but i would imagine that it would attract ionized air))
Aedazan 2 years ago
@Aedazan This means that it could be used for spaceship landing bays :D
Aedazan 2 years ago
but how could you ionize the air if there was no air in the first place?
zhmapper 2 years ago
@zhmapper there is air on the inside of the bay and none on the outside

jst wonderin,,is that some sort of burner with the tip adjusted to make that cone shape??nice work btw ^^

It deflects fingertips, and attracts moths really well.

if you put a higher megnetic field with more enery you could make the shield more dence.. then you could try making cold plasma.. :P

sadly is doesnt repel :( it does however burn almost anything I put into it.
