I agree with many people that the ipad is better but the blackberry playbook does NOT SUCK. It has recently gotten a huge update and does much more than before.

Than an ipad must be a worthless piece of crap as well. I bought a playbook for college, and it was such an inefficient piece of shit. I found my phone to be more productive. If the hyped up ipad 2 is worse than a playbook, than tablets in general are bad consumer products. This thing isn't pulling its weight. I thought tablets, especially a blackberry, would be educational and business friendly. Tablets are superficial products with no real function or purpose.

BlackBerry is so fucking deceptive. Basically these shits were supposed to link to blutooth devices, join networks and share files wireless, then the other selling point was access to android marketplace. But then that turned to an "android app player" which is only about a few hundred rejected apps of the worst developers. These things are fucking useless. Yeah they had potential, but it will never be a good product because they will keep patching up user friendly exploits.

Last comment. I bought a shitty Android tablet running Android 2.3 and took it back after a week because it was so awful in terms of usability, performance and poor in every respect generally. I then got the Blackberry tablet and for the money, i.e £200 for the 32GB model, it is a very impressive device. If Blackberry get their act together and manage to get more decent apps and lower the prices they can compete with the likes of Apple in my opinion. As it stands though it looks like don't care

@face999 I agree, this thing is a real Premium tablet. Its a shame that its not supported by 3rd party developers. The sad thing is that all the android ports are from dbag amateur developers who only submitted their apps for free playbooks... which are on sale on ebay. The same way all those people who "beta tested" chromebooks tried selling them after they got them for free. The playbook is a nice device but worthless in productivity. Our only option is to jailbreak b4 its to late.

The price of the Playbook has gone now to about half it was selling at. A 32GB Playbook can be purchased for about £50 more than the 16GB so it makes sense to go for the 32GB. The Blackberry OS is very impressive as well as the hardware. Unlike the 1st Gen IPAD, the Playbook also comes with two cameras and impressive screen similar to IPAD. However, you can not use Skype. Blackberry have let customers down with their lack of apps. They are also expensive in comparison to other devices.

I've got both devices. The IPAD wins hands down. When you consider the Playbook came out for the same money as the IPAD, Blackberry must of been complete idiots to think people would purchase the Playbook. For starters, the Blackberry store is crap and no one can really complete with the Apple Store. Developers develop for the Android and Apple market. People need convincing to develop for the Playbook and apps are more expensive. Some android apps work on the Playbook but not the majority.

OS 2 is coming this February 2012. Be patient, its worth it. Android + BB Apps + Ultimate Specs for 199 or 299 64. ITS A NO BRAINER.

Only Flaws: The software choice is not up to par until OS 2 Official (the cracked i tested is ok). Wich permits to put almost all Android Apps on it.

I got the Playbook 16 for 199 all included. I'm very tech oriented, and the Playbook is an exceptional value: the screen is amazing, the size, form, its perfect. The integrated graphic card is amazing for such a device, get HD Nova 2 Forget the Need for Speed included, its an ok game, and the graphics are ok. Go get the above game and you will understand.

The only reason i would EVER get this tab is because you can get android market on it.... blackberry is failing and should stay out of the race. im getting the transformer prime soon and if you plan on buying an upcoming tablet make sure its a tegra 3 tablet. you wont find better performance especially if you use your tablet for mobile gaming

@dylansoldier3067571 The Playbook's resolution is 1024x600 on a 7 inch screen. So it won't be able to play 720 or 1080p movies. It can store HD movies on it and play them back on TVs though. But in reality a sub HD movie on it's screen could look just as good as an HD movie on a full sized TV. 1024x600 on a 7 inch screen looks just as good as 1280x720 on a 26 inch screen. For comparison, the Playbook has a sharper image than the iPad.

Because RIM has failed to provide the necessary software updates that would allow Android apps to be used on the Playbook.

Because it did not ship with mail or calendar apps -keep in mind this was targeted for business usurers - making such omissions tantamount to committing technological hara-kiri.
