  • FUCK YOU 56 PEOPLE DOSENT LIKE

  • very impresive

  • I was prepared to hate this and I loved it. Wherever Bach is, he likes this.

  • georgcello - i agree with u !

  • to xXConfuocoXx :

i understand ur wish but my vision is not and shouldn b "stylistically accurate improvisation". - this is my /21st century/ vision of bach music ..

    best renato

  • i like the sound of this.... but the styling is nothing like bach. You gave this an almost spanish styling...which would be fine if this piece was originally a spanish saraband but it was a Baroque sarabande which is intended to be a slow typically grave sounding dance. 50-72 bpm

idk man like i said, i like the sound of this but i wish you would have done a more stylistically accurate improvisation.

  • Hey buddy, you need to upload some more videos. There are 69,342 people waiting for more.

Come one, get on your guitar.

    Big hi from Iran

  • Splendid!

  • This is great. Thank you so much for posting this

  • THank you very much! I know how difficult it is to create this mu8c, this wunderful bach-sound.

  • Thank you for such good music!

  • This is perfect in every note? It's just Perfection to the ear!

  • Beautiful Music my Friend

  • Magnificat !!!

  • Very nice!

  • Magnifiso.......Absolutely!!!

  • Svaka čast... Lijepoi ,osječajno, ton, topal ugodan. Morat ću se uhvatit u koštac sa ovom verzijom.

  • Very nice. I perform this piece on Saturday for the 50th time on cello. I am stunned by the negative responses to this free improvisation. Composers like Gounod, Schumann, took Bach - did they corrupt it? Or Villa-Lobos, Baden Powell wrote "Bachianas" - did they corrupt Bach? And Bach, did he corrupt Isaac, Walter and Martin Luther, when he took their melodies and changed rhythm and harmonies? Perhaps purism is just one form of ignorance. Let's be inspired. This is beautiful.

  • Beautiful :-))) !!

  • I've got to say that I think this is stunningly lovely.

  • I love Bach and I love contemporary arrangements of it. This is beautiful.

  • Very nice

  • Oh my God.

This is a dishonour of Bach.

Jazz is a black shit music!!!

  • 1234mirko - you clearly have no ear. I'm glad doublearejazz let your remark be viewed: it displays your inherent and all pervasive ignorance.

  • such refined technique, thanks to the internet europeans are beginning to be promoted

  • This is a w e s o m e

  • This is beautiful, reminds me of George Benson's early jazz playing style in some ways.

...and thats possibly one of the best compliments I could give a guitarist. (massive Benson fan)

    thanks for the video

    5/5

  • You guys should check out Renato's web site. Besides Bach he also has an amazing Mozart guitar album, like I practically fell off the chair when I heard that one. On top of everything the jazz he plays.......I'm running out of breath.

  • Bravo Renato ! Zaista oduzima dah! Prefinjenost kao glavna nota izvedbe :)

  • Great, this is a ***** improvisation!

  • good grief. absolutley amazing.

  • Great tone, cool concept, nice lines. Captures the mystery of Bach's music.

  • It's unbelievable, but it's Bach!

  • Great! Beautiful playing.

  • Something that will stay on my mind for a long time.

  • Thanks to you for your music.

Hopefully you someday interpreted the integral work of Bach for guitar.

    Success

  • ¡Bravo Renato! Bellísima interpretación.

Muchas gracias y espero que subas más videos tuyos.

  • Just briliant! I have no more words...

    Thanks!

  • I was not expecting this to be so moving. This is really amazing. He really put his soul into piece. I was about to go to bed...NOW I have to search for his other performances...no sleep for me :)

  • Young John Locke!

  • Das gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich will immer etwas Neues hören, mit viel Gefühl. Du gibst es! Danke!

    Wolfgang Schömbs

    MOZARTISIMO

  • Wow, I've never hear classical poayed so well by a "jazz" muscian. I guess I've always listed to people like Fabio Zanon when I wanted to hear classical; and people like Joe Pass when I wanted to hear jazz. This was eye openning, and I've studied both genres...for more years than I want to admit. That was wonderful.

  • O_O I can play this on the cello but this is just awesome!

  • Wohohohohohonderful!

  • wow, its so smooth and bright. this guy is a genious.

  • Phenomilal performance,great artistry!!!!!!!

  • How do I buy your CD??

    Vennlig hilsen

    Tor Inge

  • It's a gibson L4 right?

  • Beutiful...

  • Simply fabulous!

  • Wonderful Mate, Really beautiful :)

  • i wish i could get the cd

  • Sublime artistry is spoken here with a true deepness of soul..Renato you're a messenger of a guitarist with peace within***

  • just excellent!!! couldnt be played any better.

  • You are welcome more stars for you, always good things get sincere praises !

  • Fantastic playing, such a lush tone. Whats more impressive is that you're equally adept at classical guitar standing as well as sitting.

  • Just gorgeous, my friend. Gorgeous. Bravo.

  • Bellísimo! Bravo!!

  • lush tone! what amp + settings is that

  • Sound ist made by technique and talent of the player, not by equipment

  • Yes, but a wrong choice of words. You're gonna be criticized by an ass any time within the next 107 days.

  • Yes, I heartly agree--technique and talent--that's the core!!

  • awesome!breathtaking!

  • this guy deserves a round of applause!

  • beautiful piece loved it

  • Great interpretation!!

  • your my idol.

  • The improvisation is great!, but i dont like the sound of an electric guitar playin bach...

    Congrats!

  • Very nice improv!

  • bravo goddammit!

  • He plays with his eyes closed....brilliant

  • U RULE!

  • wow

  • incredible

  • thank you!

  • Fantastic! You obviously love playing. I love the fact that you use a pick. It makes for a great tone and it is a surprise. Very nice video too. If I ever see that you have a cd for sale, I will certainly buy it. Thanks!

  • awesome technique!

I wanna play like you when i grow up!

    ^^

  • We DEMAND new videos!

    Pretty please! (-:

  • What a great tone! And flawless technique. Does this guy play jazz as well?

  • If a picture is worth a thousand words, Your music video is worth a thousand pictures.

I have played guitar for 45 years and struggle to achieve a smooth clean sound. Such a beautiful touch you have. Please make MORE...

  • Bravo!

  • excellent

  • Renato, zakon! pozdrav s Hvara.

  • Two words: Beautiful, Amazing

  • i feel like this is the opening credits to desperado..and dont take that as an insult i really love that movie for its choice in songs....love this peice you really need to put new videos!

  • hey ren !

    cool !!!!

  • I cannot play the guitar, but I always admired your struggle for a distinctive, natural, clear sound, which anyway touches with a somewhat "romantic" mood. Above that I appreciate your power to go your own way.

  • Would love to hear more from this guitarist. One piece is not enough.

  • Purely magical!

  • Facinating!! So effortless and relaxed. Thank you for sharing!!

  • That was beautiful. Great playing! And the guitar is very nice too :)

    Regards Wilfried

  • Really nice man, bravo!

  • yo quiero Jazzy Bach con Benoit Charest, Mathiew Herkowitz

  • I think you have a very good classical sensibility, the tonal/dynamic range sounds much more limited than possible on a classical guitar perhaps, maybe its just that jazzy tone - great blend overall!

  • Are you from the future?

  • Aahhh there it is!!

  • to paindeer:

    yes, 1:34 is F major 7 goes to F7(dominant)

    goes to B_flat major 7 ( 1:43 - g minor 7 ) ..

  • Wanted to share though, I VERY much enjoy where you reach at frame 1:12 here. I like to visit that place too.

I ALSO like what you begin at 1:34 - the 'modern' 7th as I call it shows its face here RIGHT where it belongs ! esp. with bach.

Thanks for sharing this. I TOTALLY get your face when you stare at the fretboard at start of vid.

  • I'm down to 3 strings on my guitar as of late.

ALL I seek joy in is endeavoring in some of these places. I like to always call it memories of Bach, but who did Bach have memories of ?

  • to padleynj:

..thanx 4 your, to the point, given comment.

..i am very glad to see your understaning of sound and "material" aesthetic ..

my aesthetic of playing was affected by

    anton webern and miles davis..

my guitar is a gibson es 175 d.

  • there was great clarity and no over-riding of notes in the playing! The guitar sounded like a D'Angelica

  • You mean d' angelico?

  • great!

  • this is cool but it is not better than the original interpretations, is just different.

  • Great Sound.

Wonder what gear you're using [2]

  • nice!

Now I am curious how your atonal playing sounds!

  • Beautiful playing, unbealivable tone, It's almost like I'm hearing nylon strings. Wonder what gear you're using.

  • This is true technique.

Thank you for posting this. You have inspired me study this piece.

  • Beautiful playing.

I imagine it must feel wonderful to be able to play such music.

    I'm lousy on the guitar...

  • So clean! Yet so full! Very nice...

  • How can someone with so much talent and melodic knowledge neglect crucial elements of jazz guitar like tone and production noise??? The pick is dreadfully present here... besides that, the notes are wonderful

  • Oh my goodness. I look a video of a jazz guitarist improvising over a Bach piece, and some kid just has to compare him to Kirk Hammet. And think that Hammet is much better. Christ, why?

  • Du ser godt nok selvhøjtidelig ud..

  • my friend...this is just beautiful !!!

  • beautiful.

  • Beautiful! Well played! :-)

  • WOW!!!! this is like a 100 on a scale of 1 t0 10 :D

defenitely something i could get used to :D

  • Great work!!!! You show great innovations in this piece!

  • A great testament to Bach that something written circa 1720 can inspire virtuosity to this day. Just in case anyone is wondering this is based loosely on the Sarabande from cello suite 2

  • beautiful!

  • great touch man...

  • thanks for the compliments on my bach piece! this video is amazing and the touch and mideastern influence in the playing is incredible!! 5*

  • Artwork and great presentation. Nicely done.

  • Wonderful!

  • very interesting fusion of styles. i liked the presentation and how this was filmed. very classy - nice job!! keep it up.

  • Thank you for commenting on my classical piece! Your interpretation of Bach is very relaxing and smooth. You have a very good style and your sound is really swinging.

I appreciate Bach´s Music very much. You should check out my version of Bach´s violin sonata in G- Minor.

    Have fun with your music

    Sincerely

    Markus

  • very nice technique

    also very well played

    I like it a lot

  • Kirk Hammet from Metallica is much better, even if he doesn´t play classic!

  • Are you on crack! Kirk Hammet is an awfull guitar player. He's sloppy as hell and can't bend in tune to save his life.

  • Haha, unfortunatly, thats not true, but i could agree on some parts:P This guy is in another league. no doubt.

  • He doesn't know how to bend, he's famous because he's in Metallica. Tommy Vetterli es a genius with the electric guitar, for example, as reanto (I know they play different styles)

  • Amen Brother!

  • great!

  • Bullshit... you clearly have no idea. Listen to Britney Spears, little girl!

  • Delicious tone. Great feeling. I'm digg'n it.

  • Very nice!!!

  • Pat Metheny also looks strange ;) and he´s the best

  • well...he is extraordinary..but maybe pat martino is the best:)

  • This guy is clearly talented. But this strikes me as extremely self-indulgent, arty shredding. I hate people hwo can't play the guitar without closing their eyes.

  • I agree with you.

  • awesome sound... I need better euipment ;(

  • perfect

  • Glorious, thankyou. I can't wipe the smile off my face.

  • Por favor, no te veas tan lambe-ojo:/

  • I didn't know Moby played Jazz...

  • nice y`re good ;)

  • beautiful

  • Fantastic! very nicely done indeed : )

  • excelente sonido excelente ejecucion felicidades y saludos desde mexico

  • 5/5, some of the best music that i've heard from a youtube musician, if not THE best.

  • This is insanely brilliant! I'm absolutely captivated.

  • This was very nice. i liked it=)

  • Brilliant! Full of emotion would go well with Poetry. Has a "the end" Doors feel to it.

  • sanft & stark & essentiell.

thx 4 sharing and looking inside.

  • to Grundalizer:

my pleasure - don't mention it!

enjoy the music and thanx for your comment

    :-)

    regards - rr

  • Exelent!!!!!! what happend to the first video?

  • bueno bueno bueno

  • Very Nice!

  • thats very good. well you make more? i hope so

  • Phenomenal!

  • -to "Grundalizer" :

bachs sarabande bwv 1008 in d minor is generally well-known as meditative..and so should be played.

    :-)

  • Ok thank you for letting me know. I know close to nothing about music theory and structure. I listen to it again this morning and I enjoy it 1000x more. You know sometimes you are looking for a piece in particular to fit your mood, and if it doesn't your just not into it. I didn't mean any disrespect. Thanks for the -4 comments

  • Hm, the fact that "bachs sarabande bwv 1008 in d minor is generally well-known as meditative" doesn't mean everybody must like it and play it that way. I'm not saying this video is bad, its really good, but I don't like being a conformist when talking about music. This piece could be made with another feeling and be no worse than what you're playing.

  • too slow

  • nice great love this guy!!!
