I live 40 minutes from Venice and have been there many times. I have never seen a problem myself with the cops and most that live there are great people. Ya, it's near the beach which does attract some that are crazy but overall, Venice is a great beach city. More nut cases live in Huntington Beach than most coastal cities. Go to H.B on a friday night and it's just full of weirdos and drunks. Back in the day on the 4th of July H.B was a nightmare ...all the nut cases came out then!

This is the standard normal way of life in Venice. Venice was cool for years with a dusting of lunatics and drug activity. During the crack years Venice became a dangerous hellhole. Then it started to get better again. NOW its on the decline, again, do to the HUGE NUMBER of scumbag drug addicts and violent homeless psychos. Gang banging problems normally come from out of the area lately, yet there are still some dumbass Venice gang bangerss.

Good work except that u just perpetuated the stereotype that the Black kid was a gang member, and that he was guilty of carrying and tossing a gun. Whether true or not (of course he deserves due process by law), it leaves an indelible imprint in folks' heads as to African-Americans who frequent Venice Beach. Maybe a disclaimer on the video would be apropos.
