  • Awesome Tank there....For the first few seconds i thought the Labs were Red Zebras....

Just was curious as to what sort of lighting you are using. And can you please specfic the kelvin. Thanks

  • @damafiafz, thank you. I'm afraid you can't keep any African cichlids in a 22gallon with 4pink convicts in there already. You can get rid of the pink convicts and try Multies (shellies) from lake tanganyikan.

  • where do you get the silica sand?

    where you buy it?

    Thanks

  • I bought silica sand from Lowes.

  • could you give me a 1-5 star rating on the jebo 828 thinking of getting one im subscribing

  • From a 1-5 star rating, I would give it a 2.

  • I am getting silica sand on thursday. Do you enjoy it?

    Thx

  • Silica Sand is great. I enjoy it a lot! =)

  • Have you had problems with algae with the sand? I just bout a 100 pound bag for 8 bucks and added some to my tank then I researched about and I read that it creates more algae than other sands. True? or False?

  • Nope. No algae problem at all. I still have the same sand in my as in the video. Nothing. False.

  • Thanks I subscribed. I will soon make a Youtube account where i will add vids of my tanks. =D

  • dam your labs got huge since the october video. how big are they now?

  • All my labs now are about 4inches big. =)

  • hey where did you get your silica sand?

  • I got my Silica sand from Lowes.

  • nice tank. nice coulors on the fish. but little more stone :p btw nice

  • you should watch my newest video. you will see a lot more rocks =D

  • u have all male electric yellow chiclids...?and they dont fight??

  • lol. they are not all male. i have 4 female labs and 2 male yellow labs. 1 female acei and 2 male acei. For the White Top Haras i dont know the ratio there

  • love the acei and the demasoni, the demasoni is showing great colour!

  • thank you. i only have one...cuz if i want a colony i would have to get 12 or more.

  • good choice. I have about 16 adults, tbh if you get a colony then there will be a pecking order and not all of them will colour up as much as yours has. Great tank!

  • I like the plants myself. I just can't keep 'em alive in my tank. Even when I give them plant food . . . it doesn't seem to help. Anyway, I really like your tank.

  • thankyou

  • Nice Tank!

  • great tank! i say u take out the plants and add more rocks to complete the malawi biotope

  • yeah. i took out the plants. rocks. eh. too much money for me =D

  • does the food enhance every color of the fish, i heard that on some food only the blue is enhanced or the red is enhanced

  • well my yellow labs became really bright after i fed it NLS. well my yellow labs are

F2 and they are usually really yellow but NLS HELPS!.

  • does the new life spevtrum food really give your fish good colors

  • yes. i recommend it to every fish keeper/hobbiest.

  • hey.the spectrum is the best..it will bring out colors uve ever seen..try it..all i use..

  • is that orange county #20 silica sand?

  • yes it is.

  • why does yours look so white? I just got 2 bags of oc silica sand and they look greyish alot darker than yours. maybe cause of your lighting?

  • yes it is the lighting and maybe the camera. it is actually gray like you said.

  • Hi very nice setup...could you please tell me if the flexible tube in the c360 its 5/8 inches???? thanks!!!!!!!!

  • awesome tank man!!!

  • I am thinking of getting yellow labs.

What is a good thing to feed them and are they hard to care for.

  • Yellow Labs are very easy to care. they prefer hard water and ph around 7.8-8.6. you shouldnt feed them too much protein...ex: bloodworms, brineshrimp, well you get the idea. i feed my cichlids NLS (new life spectrum)

  • i would love it if you told me what type of fish those orange ones were and the one thats right in front of the screen on 1:03-1:04 with the yellow fins. I got the same ones in an assorted chiclid pack so im clueless! btw 5/5

  • thanks for watching. you mean the yellow ones? they are called Yellow Labs. and the purple ones with the yellow tails are called yellowfin Acei

  • Nice healthy fish.

Can you tell me if white sand is harder to clean then black sand?

    Thank you.

BTW, good choice with white. I know many prefer black so the fish can feel like home.

  • this isnt really white. it is tanish grayish. the light just makes it seem very white on camera. really white sand wash the color off fish in my experience. and black dont really look "natural" IMO. thanks.

  • Nice tank some tall plants in the backround would really set it off

  • Looks great!!!

Excellent setup, LOVE the filtration system! A+

    :)

  • good very nice, also the music is nice with it..lol this is your boy from cichlid forum..with the wall tank 225gl

  • They sure have some great coloring, the background and white substrate really helps bring that out. Good job!

  • wow this is awesome ur mbunas have come a long way since u first started!! congrats

  • after watching your tank.. i noticed there wasn;t alot of agression.. or babies.. you said its new.. but mine are always fighting... i like the blank space in the middle.. i might adapt that in a redecorate.

  • yes there isnt really any aggression in my tank. the acei are always chilling at the top of the tank waiting for food. the white top haras arent really that aggressive towards eachother or their tankmates. the demasoni mind his own business. the c moorii is the only non mbuna i have, he is actually a hap. i leave the middle empty because it is for him to swim. Haps dont really like rocks and love to swim in the opening. the yellow labs are probably the most aggressive group i have in that tank.

  • Beautiful tank! I wish I could have as many fish in my tank but it's too small. Nice rocks & I like the gravel too. Nice setup.

  • great tank man! the water is super clear how do u filter the tank?

  • it is being filter by a Marineland C-360, 828 Jebo Canister, 30 TOPFIN HOB (my info says it). i do a 30 percent waterchange EVERY saturday.

  • Awesome Beautiful !

    Great job !
