zfox69 I think that solo maybe simply their first time without an instructor with them. Not the solo flight required for the license which requires a flight of no less than 100nm. At least thats what I was told by the flight schools here.
@64wing the point is with in flight urination system you dont have to hold it which is unhealthy and is not being a good pilot. a good pilot always takes care of his health first
@210482fmj I understand that some pilots may not be able to focus as well as they should if their minds were to be preoccupied with physical discomfort. My point was that you really can't stay aloft long enough in a C-172 to experience that discomfort. Just make it part of your preflight: fill the plane and drain the vein ;p But it really is an extremely minor contingency.
@210482fmj Can you offer any aeromedical evidence to support your claims? If you're going to start every sentence with, "a good pilot always..." I expect you to either be an experienced aviator or a medical doctor. I'm a pilot...not a gym teacher

Hey, im a student pilot, wiht 5 hours, i wanted to know how long it took you to get to this point, and how long it took you to get your private pilot license. Let me know...
When and where was this taken? I am a student pilot right now and just solo'd two days ago. I understood that the faa prohibits any student pilot doing touch n goes? Atleast I didnt, I had to back taxi every time.
Congrats! I'm an instructor with 10,000 hours, and I NEVER get tired of watching a first solo. It's an awesome feeling, being a part of making a student's dream come true.
I remember being a CFI and delivering food on bad days. I loved bringing students into IMC. I can always remember their faces when they finish their flights. I know a lot of instructors out there don't want to take students into IMC. 1. they are not confident in themselves. 2. Its a good excuse for a day off. Be aware of those instructors. If you're a student pilot with at lease 30 hrs and are doing cross countries you should tell your instructor to take you up in the clouds and play around.
it depends. if you work for a flight school not much. if you work for yourself a lot more. I was a freelance instructor I was teaching for free before. then it went from free. to 15/hr. then 20/hr. then 25/hr. I know some instructors in California that makes 100-150/hr. depends on your experience level. But one thing is for sure. If you're a good instructor, are you able to adapt to your students. I miss being a CFI.

@hotairbassoon hey i have a question. im 14 and ive done my intro flight and i wont get to solo untill im 16. my instructor said to fly once a month untill im 15 because i will have had more than 800 hours by the time im 16. he said if i start to train 2 times a week then i will be done and ready to solo by december. i am wondering if this is a good idea because i will forget alot after 1 month.
@Weefles i smell me a faggot, how am i being a troll.. i smell that your friggn jealous that a 14 year old kid can fly when all u can do is sit at home and play FSX. go and fuck around somewhere else. i was askin a question where you DONT need to answer.
No actually I am a pilot, and im not jealous. 800 hours? yeah right. thats more than 8 hours a week for two years. Considering you ARE 14 that doesnt make much sense now, does it? I think your jealous that I can fly and all you can do is sit at home and play FSX.
@Weefles and haha first day of flying. taxi to and hold short of runway. ground maneuvers. roll, yaw, and pitch. pilots handbook of aeronautical knowledge. Sporty's Private Pilots. and Jeppesen flight books. cessna. check list took longer than flight.
Fuel tested by poking a cylindrical container with a tube on the front for removing fuel and checking for water and sediments. now i could go on and on about just one day. 2nd day, learn about stalls, do some stalls, sped through checklist.
Im sure you did a quick google search to read all of this good stuff.
Thats called "Sumping" the fuel tank, and you do it every flight.
And I recommend doing a quick google search, planes can get MUCH more expensive than $100, that was an average. Now for $70 dollars im sure your flying in the best POS cessna on this side of the mississipi, and if you were about to get 800 hours you would buy a headset. Dumbfuck.
@tubagod88 u must like mc cain cuz ur parents are republican. all you do is wait till polls, look at the name with the R (for republican) and connect the line. you arent informed at all about anything. i know ppl like you. i actually have liked republican and democrats and even tho some of obama stuff is crap, he is a good speaker and a very persuasive one. go and watch some bias FOX news now. the power house for the faggots, like you
@Weefles and actually its $70 for a plane, $7 for a headset, and 40 depending on which instructor. if ur a real pilot im sure u would know that it isnt 100 for a plane. retard.
@0MUSEMUSE0 That was quite ignorant of you. Depending on what flight school you go to the costs are different. At the flight school I go to the plane costs 95, instructor is 60, and you pay for fuel. The headsets are free to rent, but I have my own so it doesn't matter. Just thought that I'd throw that out there.
@THExGOODxLIFE307 i know the costs are different but you are just some prick who likes to fuck around just for the hell of it. im just making a statement, proving a point of how ur a jackass and im being reasonable. now please.
@0MUSEMUSE0 I only said that one thing, I believe your argument was with Weefles. Stop trying to be tough over the internet and just leave everyone alone.
Its really awesome to see all the comments from young pilots. I myself am currently in training and i am also 16 years old. in the words of my instructor "the world needs more pilots", so its good for all these people to be interested in aviation.
Congrats, pilot!
