I've played all previous Operation Flashpoint and ArmA titles and must say that although OFP2 has very good graphics, the gameplay suck. Nothing special about it and hardly challenging. It's just pretty graphics and not much more.
this game pisses all over ArmA II from a great height, ArmA II is a proper "war sim" and as such is far too complex for a generic successful marketable shooter (much like AA3 which is free), OF:DR is an out of the box shooter that you can pick up and play any day any time
ArmA is extremely successful, I've heard the Military and police forces world wide use it for training. Otherwise, Bohemia makes alot of money off of this.
OFPDR may be plug and play but it has no replay value compared to ArmA 2
I have never been deployed except to the shitty kitty when it was still operating, but the marines that train here never run around with their rifles straight out. I don't think they really do that. Most of them run around with them out front but not pointed forward unless they are inside a house. I don't know anything about it though, since I only do corpsman coverage. I think it would be nice to have it sorta out front but pointed down, and there should be a delay, like RL.

well i own a ps3 and i can't get arma 2 so for me its the most realistic fps to date, cod mw2 is not as realistic but it is more popular more fun and exciting, operation F is more tacticale ultra realistic for more of a overall effect you also have to use tactics to get over complications, something that you dont do on cod mw2 so you can't really compare these games they are too utterly different genres, its like comparing flight simulator to tom clancys hawx, too completely different games :)
You can fly in OFP: DR there are only helicopters and ground vehicle. There are no jets due to the situation and would not be 'right' in including them.

i think that arma 2 is operation flashpoint all over again and op2 is a mix of cod 4 and operation flashpoint. the problem with arma 2 is that the movement of the characters arent dat fluid while op2 looks move swift. from a review ive read the injure and blood system in op2 is made to be realistic cos the blood splatter ever where and injured body parts stay damaged . The story line of Arma looks great op2 gonna be better beacuse it has that multiplayer feel to it.but Arma2 gonna be good aswell

The name Arma, in Arma II, is now solidly meant in the Latin contexts of 'weapons, "honor and courage",arms' that so many other languages already have noticed.. i am not ignorant, i know there are many variants of the ACOG but the version generally used on the M16A4 the Trijicon TA31 RCO (which has a little red chevron in the centre rather than a standard crosshair) is what should be on this gun, the ironsights are not normally visible with this scope (afaik).
just watch this vid of the ACOG and look at the difference.
go to Trijicon's website, the TA31RCO-A4CP was specifically designed for the M16A4 and USMC. And regardless of that the ACOG provides a wide angle of sight instead of the very "tunneled" result in OFP2.
OFP2 will be nothing compared to ArmAII, and I am not starting to flam OFP2 guys (and their fans). The developers of ArmA2, have more experienced in making military simulators...

In my opinion it had the best healing system seen in a video game. You get shot in the legs, you have to crawl around calling for a medic to save your ass. Try to stand up, and you cry in pain and drop down. Of course most of the time you won't survive being crippled because a couple of shots and your DEAD.
someone should make an open world game that is a war game and you take your platoon and travle were ever you want fighting the enemys you come accross and having to set up camps and blokades and stuff that would be rad

I have both a pc and a 360, trust me, pc is by far better. u can upgrade it and its more graphical than a 360. I only use the 360 to play on xbox live with friends. In a year from now there will prob. be a much bigger difference in graphics between the 2. One good thing about the 360 tho is that it is dirt cheap

Now the publisher (Codemasters) is trying its hand at making OFP 2 by themselves, I can't helb but wonder wether it will be as good as the original series.

In my opinion it had the best healing system seen in a video game. You get shot in the legs, you have to crawl around calling for a medic to save your ass. Try to stand up, and you cry in pain and drop down. Of course most of the time you won't survive being crippled because a couple of shots and your DEAD.

PC isn't just for working. It can handle a game such as Crysis, but you will have to pay higher price for it. Console is surely cheaper as for "gaming". I got my PS3 only for their exclusives.

Who says you can't work and play. Consoles are good for certain types of games...if you're a flight sim fan..console just won't work for you. Doesn't have the control inputs or the market.
Sims like DCS Black Shark will NOT run on consoles.

I have both a pc and a 360, trust me, pc is by far better. u can upgrade it and its more graphical than a 360. I only use the 360 to play on xbox live with friends. In a year from now there will prob. be a much bigger difference in graphics between the 2. One good thing about the 360 tho is that it is dirt cheap

Note that OFP 1 was developed by Bohemia interactive (Codemasters was the publisher).
Now the publisher (Codemasters) is trying its hand at making OFP 2 by themselves, I can't helb but wonder wether it will be as good as the original series.
let's hope OFP 2 will not become another lame spin-off of Bohemia interactive's games. (kinda like what G2 games did with the Enemy engaged series)

The first one was on console too...A pretty weak console too. And the game was just fucking awesome on it. Codemasters doesn't have an m16 up they're ass like Infinity Ward, they know what they're doing. A console is just as much a computer as an HP or anything else.
