What I have been doing is buying things second hand here locally if I can't find an American made alternative. Which that way I know my money has a chance of staying in the American Economy.

About 5 years ago the wife and I tried to only buy "Made in the USA" for one week. We made it 2 days. On the third day we needed something for the baby and couldn't find a "Made in the USA" equivalent. It is very hard. Not because stuff is expensive, its because its not easy to find. We had to drive at least 3 or 4 miles away to get items rather then the local food store.
