Doin it old school! Good to see. I've spent many an hour in the seat of a 2440. Self propelled is great - IF- you chop a lot of silage. Otherwise it's just an extremely expensive machine that takes up space in your shed most of the year. A tow behind means you can use that same tractor for many other jobs. Self propelled implements just cost way too much for the small to mid sized farmer, and only do 1 job.
We have out neighbor open out fields with a New Idea Uni System. But this field happend to have a hay field on each side of it so it worked out ok for that
Well we just finished up yesterday and we dont fill any silos anymore.But we have another field to chop next week. I see if I can make a video unloading in the silage bagger if Im home. Im leaving thursday morning to show dairy cattle at the World Dairy Expo

its a two row and not so well. I just bought a 4440 thats running 160 hp so I hope I can go a little faster this fall
