problem with projections is, that they have no backlight (like lcds) or emit light (like oled displays). So it always has to be dark, if you want to have a good contrast.

I don't get how the lazer keyboard works. I mean this is an impressive idea but your hands cover most of the keyboard most of the time which means the keys you wanna press may be just shining onto your hand while trying to type so I can't imagine this works as good as a regular keyboard

Correct, it is the most crappy keyboard ever, especially since you can't feel the buttons meaning writing speed will be greatly reduced. Btw, an advice, try stop looking at the keyboard as you type from time to time, just type as you normally do but type some words without looking, may help to take it as a personal challenge, also note that F and J key has a help marker for redirecting your fingers without looking. You'll learn much faster than you think!
Seriously, up till one month ago I was a look-for-button-and-type person like you. Then I started practicing as I explained, you don't have to do it with a lot of words, just one each youtube comment for instance. I promise you, it will take about one month and you'll be typing like a boss. You'll automatically start typing more and more words without looking, you may not even notice.
I was once part of study that will eliminate totally the use of keyboard back in 1998.I have an steep Filipino accent,the thing is up to now they cannot perfect the technology that's why up to now no matter how high tech is the computer,we cannot eliminate the keyboard.The reason is every nationality has different accent,the computer cannot read my voice because of accent,only american accent can be read.
Infared keyboards have been out for a while. There used to be addon you could get for a Palm Pilot. People didn't like it because you can't feel any feed back from the flat surface you are typing on. I highly doubt this will replace PC's at home. But it could definitely be useful for smart phones and the like in the future.
Personally I'm holding out for Sunglasses that have a Heads Up Display controlled by thought :D
The only thing I don't like about this is it would feel so weird typing on a pure flat surface. I mean it use to be weird enough changing from desktop to labtop years ago, but that isn't the same as this. It would be hard trying to figure out where the buttons are everytime you use the thing. Infared keyboards have been out for a while. There used to be addon you could get for a Palm Pilot. People didn't like it because you can't feel any feed back from the flat surface you are typing on. I highly doubt this will replace PC's at home. But it could definitely be useful for smart phones and the like in the future.
Personally I'm holding out for Sunglasses that have a Heads Up Display controlled by thought :D

The only thing I don't like about this is it would feel so weird typing on a pure flat surface. I mean it use to be weird enough changing from desktop to labtop years ago, but that isn't the same as this. It would be hard trying to figure out where the buttons are everytime you use the thing. Sorry. It looks awesome, but it fails overall.

Portable? Yes... Practical? Not so much... You can't use those things when there's a lot of lights, and you absolutely need a flat surface to "put" the keyboard.

cool, but pointless. With the laptops we have nowadays, you don't need a flat surface for the keyboard, or a wall for the screen. You can in fact take them everywhere! The reason why i can't stand desk tops is because you're stuck sitting behind a desk, in an uncomfortable computer chair. This thing just seems like a step in the wrong direction to me.

hmm.. it's probably like typing on a touchscreen... And typing on a touchscreen is not the best out there. The best is fysical keyboards. But ofcourse you will learn how to write fast on one of those, but I think most of the people prefer fysical keybords.

@MrCanadaRox they have technology that can reflect light off of your eyes and that will be used as the mouse......the light will bounce off your eyes and wherever your pupil moves the cursor will move....simple and yet effective. HMMMM sound like a pretty good idea huh? they can also make it to where when you think of clicking on something it will actually read what your thinking and click....they are doing this with paralyzed people right now.....but it is not as small as a system yet..YET YET
