  • I have a 2007 Commander Rocky Mountain. I got a 2" Rough Country lift and 31" M/T MTZ's on it! I don't off road but it still looks rely nice

  • Always room for more Commanders!

  • toccata and fugue in Dminor

  • The church used to house the organ is smaller than that soccer mom mobile. get it off our mountains.

  • @powerstrokesmasher I'm pretty certain the mountains are plenty big enough to handle it. Besides that, it's really not ALL that much bigger than the Wranglers - maybe a foot longer or so. Not really an issue! Besides, who is going to carry all the gear to rescue you when your mountain tries to swallow you whole?

  • i cant watch this cause the music...

  • Cool! Yes, it isn't a rock crawler but as long as you had fun. I've mountain biked around that area and would love to take my Commander up there for some fun.

  • Where by gold camp rd? cause i go up there every now and then. You talking about the one going off to the zoo?

  • Nice video. Keep up the good work. Btw, I too am from colorado and I also have vids of offroadin, they aren't as good as yours but check em out and let me know what ya think!!! Nice Jeep btw

  • nice video man. jeeps for life and no hummer can compare to a jeep. oh wait maybe a jeep compass. oh wait a compass may walk all over a h2 or h3 haha

  • I have an 06 commander and I am here to say this thing f ing rocks on or off road it's so comfortable off road u don't really notice your there and with the quadatrac system u can't go wrong. Rain or blizzard (because snow is nothing for this truck) this thing holds it's ground VERY WELL and u can seat 6 people and take them off roading w/u

  • @MrHookups09 i have an 07 commander. it kicks ass! oh also it's a hemi magnum

  • kadetem tera

  • cut the music

  • Also to MrMichael1701, I drive a TJ Sport and I love it, while I do agree it is better off road than the XK at least this owner took it off road. Most people you see these days just drive around town in them and would never take them off road due to fear of hurting them. I like to see jeeps off road no matter what model.

  • Song name?

  • We are happy with our Commander. You have to put the chrome steps and the front guard grill if you want perfection!!

  • In that thing, that is as close as you will ever be to off road. My mother could out do that with her pathetic i5 H3 and she's a grandma!

  • @MrMichael1701 Anytime you want to come around, bring what you have and we can go find some trails. Or maybe you could ask your mommy to borrow hers if you can't drum up your own.

  • @polarbz Your comeback made my day.(:

  • @polarbz LMAO nice!

  • we just got a commander, they are great!!

  • i love my jeep

  • they are nice, solid road vehicles. The second you get it anywhere even slightly tippy they turn into a tripod though

  • I just wish they made the Commander with a inline 6 :(

  • Zero wheel travel.. Nothing like a XJ.. Just similar box style that's it.

  • bad ass commander, bad ass off roading, but the music makes me want to kill things.

  • GREAT !!!!!!

  • nice driving, i like the part at 1:50 the best, these things are pretty much a big cherokee

  • Nice vid, glad to see it gets used!

  • Great video! I recently purchased a 2006 3.7L with qt1. I mostly drive my commander on West and South Texas ranch trails. It handles everything i have come across so far. Also a note, the raised rear seats are great for passenger visibility on a trail. If I was going to do some serious 4x4 mudding then i would use the Wrangler . Other than that the interior is wonderful and it rides smooth.

  • @mga430 "lowest resale value"? Where's the evidence on that? Also, I'm sorry your Jeep is a lemon - mine is fine and Chrysler fixes anything that breaks under warranty. I recommend Jeep to anyone who wants a reliable vehicle that goes wherever they want it to.

  • @polarbz I would recommend that, but not a Commander. Wrangler is the best Jeep. Preferably Rubicon. Commander and Grand Cherokee are crap; Grocery Getters like the H3 is.

  • @MrMichael1701 I agree that the Commander does not have a good resale value. But, I disagree that the Commander is crap. What is your criteria? My XK is not a grocery getter, it's been everywhere my Wrangler has been. Come on up and I'll take you for a ride. Bring your vehicle and we can compare.

  • @MrMichael1701 yea but he commander has a DVD player, heated and electric seats cruise control sat nav, 3 sun roofs, leather, the looks, premium award winning sound system, praticality, comfortable everywhere, and great for going offroad, what does the wrangler have? great offroading (FULL STOP)

  • @MrMichael1701 What do you drive? An H2? Your a joke.

  • @Charger3091 I drive a Ford Super Duty. I would not get caught dead in an H2 and after having a good truck an H3 for that matter. My HUMMER fan days are over.

  • @MrMichael1701 An H3 is a chevy colorado frame with a plastic body on top of it and a low power 5Cyl Engine, If that superduty has the 6.0 its nothing but junk. If its a 7.3 then maybe or a new one thats a different story, but the main point is that the last REAL hummer was the H1.

  • @MrMichael1701 Did you see the other videos of the commanders? I little aftermarket shock upgrade, the 5.7 Hemi, this Jeep is to the discovery as the H1 is to the Defender. The Commanders rock. Go to jeep)commanderDOTcom to see what guys can do with the XK.

  • iv got one with the 4.7L V8.....when u want it to go....it goes!!

  • yes it does, I call it the semi-hemi, if you look into how that particular engine was made it wasn't too far a step, from there to build the 'hemispherical' enigine..

  • wow music does not fit the video at all

  • @feetfirstbaseball i dunno it reminds me of the movie DELIVERANCE

  • haha wish i could upgrade from my cherokee to this

  • All vehicle models have problems, especially in their infancy. I know many more people without problems than with them. Your GF may have one with problems - do you know anyone else who has one? Or is your opinion based solely on a vehicle that you don't even have?

  • Would u recommend buying a commander??

My pa is thinking of getting one.

the 4.7 liter though not the hemi, it consumes to much.

  • I would recommend getting one, especially now, they are cheap! But, tell your friend to get the 5.7 HEMI - its definitely worth it.

  • look fellas i just got a commander. literally 4 hours ago and yeah true i havent experienced much.. but what i did. fucking amazing. no i dont have no problems with it and not gonna lie also it does hurt the wallet a but.

    3.7 too

  • Yeah he is getting a 3.7Lv6

Are the seats electric, and how does the engine sounds??

  • like a fucking monster haha trust me man their great.

  • @AudiROCKS Seats are electric and heated. Engine is actually pretty quiet for a 5.7 Hemi

  • Oh Stop

  • I am headed out there in two weeks and was going to run from the springs to cripple creek on gold camp, Is that gold camp or some other road off of it?

  • That is an offshoot of Goldcamp about 1/3 of the way to Cripple Creek. There are plenty of them there, have fun!

  • im really thinkin about getting a commander. how do you like yours? and words from the wise?

  • Great video.

    Have fun out there.

    OIIIIIIIO

  • Thanks, we do.

  • i really miss that road, used to be stationed at ft carson

  • Me too, I loved it.

  • By the way thats awsome that you take your Commander off road. Most people dont. IF you live in Colorado there are plenty of places you can go that the commander will not take you just because of ground clearance. same with my XJ.

  • .. because some of the Range Rovers have solid axles and the commander dont. like my 98 Cherokee with 3.5" lift and 33" will kill any Range Rover off road. You cant not compare any newer electronic lockers to any True lockers. The commanders are sweat off road. They have the same problems with the Liberity had with extreme CV angles thats why you dont see any 3" or largers lifts for them.

  • Hate to disagree because you sound knowledgeable, but I KNOW of more than a few Commanders with 4" or larger lifts on them. Unless you were saying that the Liberty didn't have any 3+" lifts. Then I wouldn't know. But, I'll take my Commander wherever anyone wants to go.

  • Hah if you want to compare dont compare landrover to a commander you need to compare it to a XJ

  • A commander can handle more offroad than a landrover. They suck and are all luxury. Who lifts a rover anyway? And I have seen a 3" lift on both a liberty and a commander.

  • Not bad, but Jeep can handle much worse roads

  • Yes, it can. The problem is finding those roads!

  • Did yours come with the off-road kit? I know you said you added a lift kit to it.

  • It did come with the Off-Road Package with skid plates for the undercarriage. I added the Teraflex 2" to get some extra clearance and bigger tires.

  • Jus bought one....There soo nice

  • Pardon me (I nitpick) That would be "TocATTa and Fugue in D Minor" Written by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by Vanessa Mae.

  • The music is "Tocca and Fugue in D Minor" - by Bach. Thank you.

  • Sheesh, don't even give me a day to respond. But, I think I answered in down the comments somewhere.

  • Looks are subjective. If you have a Range Rover and are ever in my area, let's go see which is better off-road. I'm always game for a little fun!

  • where do you live?

  • Missoula, Montana. You?

  • haha dude is that your phone number?

610 is where its at! haha

  • no, it's not my number

  • Sorry, I love Jeeps, but he is right. Range Rover has with the Airsuspension a lot more of ground clearance, better attack and depart angles, a traction controll system and with the TDV8 a much better engine. BTW: what music is this? It does not match the video, but it sounds good.

  • Indias TATA motor is the new owner of Land Rover, Jaguar and Ferrari....;D

  • Your video was great. A real joy to watch. I especially loved it when you paused on 3 wheels. Great driving. It's a Jeep Thing.

  • The music is "Tocca and Fugue in D Minor" - by Bach.

  • AWESOME, I have an XJ and have been wondering how these new XKs do off road. Thanks!

  • I have an xk and an xj. The xk has an awesome fulltime 4wd system that works flawlessly. There is virtually no body roll and the ride is extreemly plush. Mine has the 5.7 HEMI and excellerates like a stock mustang GT or mabe just a little harder from a stand still. You can not compare the xk to xj on road, but if the xj has locking diffrentials I would say that it would out perform the xk offroad and the Range Rover. The xj has a stong aftermarket and the xk is just to nice to change I love it!

  • The XK does have a small aftermarket following. Not anywhere near as big as the other Jeep products, but the XK is super-plush in comparison to other Jeeps, and can still tackle the tough terrain. With QDII, the ELSD is just as capable as lockers.

  • Interesting score and intro. I like! Nice jeep too!

  • not toyota not land rover or hummer IT JUST JEEP

i'v one commander with black color i'm from egypt it's so perfect!

  • You again huh. You're one of those idiots who's never been in anything else let alone owned anything else aren't you...

  • congrats, the commander did it reasonably well...considering it's not a vehicle for serious offroad.

    Definitively IFS sucks on offroad!

  • Yeah, FIA WRC cars are horrible. So are the Dakar vehicles! Yeah yeah yeah!

  • what size lift and tires are you running? Which 4WD system do you have?

Great video! Love it! Please keep them coming. I have a WK and love to see the new Jeeps out playing.

  • I have a 2" Terraflex lift - 155/70R17 Bridgestone Dueler REVO A/Ts. It has the QTII 4WD system. We just moved to Augusta, GA, so now I have to find some new places to play!

  • Looks very nice! I'm seriously considering doing the same thing. Mine has the QTII as well.

  • Do you have any issues with rubbing with the 255s? Did you have to trim anything other than the bolt?

  • I originally considered the 260 and 265s but decided on the 255s in order to avoid any rubbing issues. Nothing rubs and it gives decent clearance. No other modification were made to prevent rubbing.

  • Nicely done. I just bought myself a new Commander for the Colorado Rockies.

  • What part of Colorado? Eh, regardless - you'll love it.

  • Breckenridge and I do love it.

  • You're in a great spot for some serious offroading. I'd get yourself a lift and some A/T tires. And don't be afraid of a scratch or two!

  • You won't ever catch a Toyota or Land Rover doing that. ONLY in a JEEP.

  • Great video
