Anyone got tired of rift quite fast, still enjoying quite with my friends, but I will without a doubt check GW2 out. However nobody can predict the future, GW2 might suck monkey balls or it might be the best ever. Time will tell and if you dont enjoy it move on.

WoW is an MMO that just feels right. Rift in my opinion is like the Elder Scrolls series turned into an MMO. Star Wars the Old Republic is ok but it will get better because they will make patches and BioWare will hopefully look at feedback. Guild Wars is mainly about what the name meens GUILD WARS. That meens its basically you join a guild and fight. In WoW the quests are very adventurous and I like that. WoW will always be the best MMO out thats my opinion. Star Wars might have a chance

Wow is killing its self, but blizzard is not even worried at all. I think they just stoped trying on it and now is just throwing things out there. All the blizzard seinor designers are working on titan. That right there I think is blizzards big plan to keep domination is. For now deffinetly getting Guild Wars 2.
None of these games win, infact anyone that argues or competitively compares video games is just sad. If you're a proper gamer then you wont argue or debate about games, You'll just play the game YOU like and respect your fellow gamers that like other games.
So anyone who says any game in particular is better than any other game, is just pathetic. Sorry but it's true :P
I've been playing WoW for about 7 years now, and while I've toyed with a few other MMO's, none have managed to captivate me like WoW did back in the day.
But the game is getting old and I'm tired of the same old grind. Like many other commenters here, I have high hopes for Guild Wars 2... to the point where I preordered it as soon as I could.
I hope to see something that makes my jaw drop! Rift didn't do that for me (sadly, it was too WoW-like to enchant me) but fingers crossed for GW2!
Well I played WoW for a short while, but it was no game for me, I really do like the world and the story, but I am so tired of grinding each level because developers of online games allways tell you "yeah, and the game gets really good as soon as you are end level" THEN DON`T MAKE LEVELS FOR THE ENDLEVEL!!!
Guild Wars 2 is definitly going to be my MMO, I liked the last one, and in the second one, they are going to correct all the things I dind`t like in the first one or other MMOs, so awesome!!!
and dude, I agree with you, Arena.Net is a company that seems to actually cares for the people playing the game and GW2 is a labor of love for them. @CorcvusCrocuta "classic quest system" refers to the task that you see everyone trying to perform, all the time And when you perform them there's no change the game afterwards. So the personal story, while linear, is not a "classic quest system". It's more like a Fable type, single player progression. Also each personal story is meant to be slightly different based on the characters biography.
But I do also like WoW because it's just so well made... I was just defining quests...
@MegaDiablo3 Actually, after playing WoW with mounts I have to partially agree with ArenaNet. The mounts let you travel further yes, but the can make the world seem smaller and you end up feeling that walking is really slow.
Of course, I'm not entirely sure how it'll feel in practice... it'll be interesting though.
@MegaDiablo3 no its a fail to put in mounts , it makes terrain less threatening and ultimately makes the world smaller if you can get across a area in a matter of minutes , this way guild wars 2 will feel much larger , as it should since their map sizes put other mmo's to shame
People saying WoW is rubbish are mentally retarded. It's an amazing game, however I quit over 2 years ago due to the amount of time you need to invest to play end-game content and even have 'decent' gear.
Guild Wars 2 is going to smash the MMO industry. I've never played Guild Wars, however I'm almost certain the will be the best MMO to ever be made.
@Maverick2k yay, nice, unbiased opinion that I share as well. WoW is definitely not a bad game, it's just WAY too time consuming to play casually, unless you enjoy never leveling after you reach your "play time limit" (the point where leveling takes really long based on your play time).
That's my hope with GW2. I'm hoping it'll have a nice, soloable story (don't want to be forced with strangers for personal story) but it needs epic PvP and raid like systems t be popular.
@plukerpluck Continuing @Maverick2K I know the raids are only 5 players btw. But they'll definitely have to be good to attract more "dedicated" players. Same with PvP... though I'm looking forward to The Mists
@Maverick2k Oh yeah. Guild Wars sold 6 million copies. I'm super pumped for GW2 I know it will do EVEN better then the original because... well lets be honest. Most people shy away from mmorpgs where you can't play something OTHER then humans. Since GW2 is coming out with more races I feel it will become a much more popular game then the original. :D
@Maverick2k While I agree with you that GW2 will smash the MMO industry, WoW does not take a large amount of time to invest to get decent gear. I work 12 hour shifts rotating, I didn't even play all that much and I still had a ton of geared toons all in raid gear. lol
Its not like WoW adds new content quickly so you have tons of time to get good gear if you spread it out. lol
I used to play WoW and I didn't like Rift at all.... personaly of the 3 games listed Id rather play SW:TOR instead! Go Sci-Fi and never look back with Fantasy!
World of Warcraft is still a very good game, but let's face it guys... it's an 8 year old game. Most players still only play WoW because no other good game existed untill SW:TOR. RIFT started out well but cant keep up a good momentum. Guild Wars 2 will set out a new standard for MMOs in gameplay and overall experience. Blizzard REALLY needs to radicaly change and adapt WoW to the new standards and realise they no longer control the industry.

@MrManrush You can reduce almost any two things to the bare basics, and claim they are the same. Two cars may look completely different, one may drive, operate, have better performance, gas mileage, reliability, resale value than the other, but... whatever, but they are both just cars, "when you get right down to it."
No offense to Rift and WoW but they are old... GW2 Isn't even out yet and it is going to have brand new graphics, music, etc... Obviously it will be the best!
WOW for 6 years and I PVP leveled to 50 in Rift. As far as SWTOR VS Rift, I think SWTOR is a better game. WOW is still better streamlined than both. They both have a chance to be very succesful. (IMO Rift is already succesful.) Don't expect them (or any MMO) to do the subs WOW did. It's the same pool of players in all of these MMOs(Dominated by WOW or Ex-WOW). If GW2 can maintain 1 million players than it's successful. Dunno why everyone thinks a new MMO has to have 12 mill Subs to be a success.
Nothing would be able to match up to GW 2 once it's released - if anyone thinks otherwise - they're just throwing dirt in their own eyes :) Don't think so ? - Check the site And then decide
World of Warcraft is the best, because no other (not even gw2) game has had the same succes. gw2 will either be decent or not good enough. WoW is good, and blizzard set the bar pretty high for other games. So i guess we'll see.

Between SWTOR, the modern WoW, and Guild Wars 2, the second revolutionary game, not many games are going to survive 2012... On another note, I don't think music score is > then graphics, I think most gamers use their own songs when playing anyway. Also, you cant say Rift cant demand a sub fee, Guild Wars is the only game out there you buy once and play, but it has an in game store where the company can still make money like a free to play MMO, Rift doesn't have that so ofc it needs a sub fee.
ove played GW1 sense start.. its defintaly fun and i still play (whats left of it) but ill be the first to tell you, that PvP is were GW Strives. best PvP ive played in a MMO ever.
WoW: Their is none, you get the same raids over and over they never change its just the same drivel repeated endlessly (BORING!).
Rift: In addition to normal quests you have dynamic events where rifts open up in areas but these dynamic events although interesting and fun are basically lackluster, they never change they are just public quests and not very dynamic.
Guild Wars 2: I will explain with a dialogue please observe below
The big problem facing WoW is the P2P model is being phased out by top line competitors like SOE, Cryptic, and ArenaNet & NCSoft. Guild Wars was built F2P after purchase, GW2 is keeping this model. Cryptic and SOE have turned STO and EQ2 into hybrid F2P models, where you are given full access but with limited resource access. This is countered by currency purchased for real money. To put it blunt, the P2P days are almost over...F2P is making ground and isn't stopping.
LOL your way off with rift... we are on 1.6 now and they have added SO much stuff. new zones and tons of other things.. new events new everything once you hit lvl 50.. at lvl 50 your game JUST starts.. other games like WoW have to keep upping the lvl cap cuz once ppl get there they dont want t play anymore.

@SaintsXstreet Some people like the realistic graphics for games. Look at Skyrim. If you don't think that is amazing then there is something wrong with you. I am hoping GW2 will be much the same. A big world with realistic graphics that i can explore and things randomly happen without me knowing it and my "decisions" will reflect my character. @RiFTisAwesome Well, yes. WoW is having a bit of an activity problem, but compared to the rest it still has the best numbers. Even if WoW were to "die" down a lot, it would still have a lot more subscribers than most games.
Blizzard isn't focused on WoW since its working on a new MMO, dubbed "Titan" so far. They have many of their lead developers working on the project.

WoW is just a very good game, i have played it for 7 years and i still enjoy playing it.
it is true that you have to grind a little but i like to get as much achievements as possible.
but the truth is there isn't much more in WoW anymore.
i'm just going to test out GW2 and i hope it will be a good game and i think it will be.
i didn't like GW1 at all because it wasn't realy a ''free world'' such as WoW.
i believe u can do that in GW2 and i realy look forward to all of the dynamic events

People saying WoW is rubbish are mentally retarded. It's an amazing game, however I quit over 2 years ago due to the amount of time you need to invest to play end-game content and even have 'decent' gear.
Guild Wars 2 is going to smash the MMO industry. I've never played Guild Wars, however I'm almost certain the will be the best MMO to ever be made.

@Maverick2k yay, nice, unbiased opinion that I share as well. WoW is definitely not a bad game, it's just WAY too time consuming to play casually, unless you enjoy never leveling after you reach your "play time limit" (the point where leveling takes really long based on your play time).
That's my hope with GW2. I'm hoping it'll have a nice, soloable story (don't want to be forced with strangers for personal story) but it needs epic PvP and raid like systems t be popular.

@Maverick2k Oh yeah. Guild Wars sold 6 million copies. I'm super pumped for GW2 I know it will do EVEN better then the original because... well lets be honest. Most people shy away from mmorpgs where you can't play something OTHER then humans. Since GW2 is coming out with more races I feel it will become a much more popular game then the original. :D

@Maverick2k While I agree with you that GW2 will smash the MMO industry, WoW does not take a large amount of time to invest to get decent gear. I work 12 hour shifts rotating, I didn't even play all that much and I still had a ton of geared toons all in raid gear. lol
Its not like WoW adds new content quickly so you have tons of time to get good gear if you spread it out. lol

World of Warcraft is still a very good game, but let's face it guys... it's an 8 year old game. Most players still only play WoW because no other good game existed untill SW:TOR. RIFT started out well but cant keep up a good momentum. Guild Wars 2 will set out a new standard for MMOs in gameplay and overall experience. Blizzard REALLY needs to radicaly change and adapt WoW to the new standards and realise they no longer control the industry.

WOW for 6 years and I PVP leveled to 50 in Rift. As far as SWTOR VS Rift, I think SWTOR is a better game. WOW is still better streamlined than both. They both have a chance to be very succesful. (IMO Rift is already succesful.) Don't expect them (or any MMO) to do the subs WOW did. It's the same pool of players in all of these MMOs(Dominated by WOW or Ex-WOW). If GW2 can maintain 1 million players than it's successful. Dunno why everyone thinks a new MMO has to have 12 mill Subs to be a success.

World of Warcraft is the best, because no other (not even gw2) game has had the same succes. gw2 will either be decent or not good enough. WoW is good, and blizzard set the bar pretty high for other games. So i guess we'll see.

Between SWTOR, the modern WoW, and Guild Wars 2, the second revolutionary game, not many games are going to survive 2012... On another note, I don't think music score is > then graphics, I think most gamers use their own songs when playing anyway. Also, you cant say Rift cant demand a sub fee, Guild Wars is the only game out there you buy once and play, but it has an in game store where the company can still make money like a free to play MMO, Rift doesn't have that so ofc it needs a sub fee.

Heres how I see dynamic questing:
WoW: Their is none, you get the same raids over and over they never change its just the same drivel repeated endlessly (BORING!).
Rift: In addition to normal quests you have dynamic events where rifts open up in areas but these dynamic events although interesting and fun are basically lackluster, they never change they are just public quests and not very dynamic.
Guild Wars 2: I will explain with a dialogue please observe below

The big problem facing WoW is the P2P model is being phased out by top line competitors like SOE, Cryptic, and ArenaNet & NCSoft. Guild Wars was built F2P after purchase, GW2 is keeping this model. Cryptic and SOE have turned STO and EQ2 into hybrid F2P models, where you are given full access but with limited resource access. This is countered by currency purchased for real money. To put it blunt, the P2P days are almost over...F2P is making ground and isn't stopping.

LOL your way off with rift... we are on 1.6 now and they have added SO much stuff. new zones and tons of other things.. new events new everything once you hit lvl 50.. at lvl 50 your game JUST starts.. other games like WoW have to keep upping the lvl cap cuz once ppl get there they dont want t play anymore.

Weather graphics look better or not is completely a matter of opinion.
Just because WoW can run on a cheaper graphics card doesn't mean that it has worse graphics
I think WoW's graphics are great looking, I love the so called "cartoon" style.
And i think Rifts graphics suck even if there " More realistic".
If you wan't realistic graphics stop looking at a screen and go outside.

A big world with realistic graphics that i can explore and things randomly happen without me knowing it and my "decisions" will reflect my character. I think this game sounds very cool and very interesting. I agree on your Rift PoV.. I don't like it.

There ALL easy, and all nothing more than a feel-good happy game thats ment to satisfy a casual player. Like most games do when they aren't going to work out anymore. That alone will push the game at minimum, around 2 more years. Look, I don't even like WoW. @RiFTisAwesome Well, yes. WoW is having a bit of an activity problem, but compared to the rest it still has the best numbers. Even if WoW were to "die" down a lot, it would still have a lot more subscribers than most games.
Blizzard isn't focused on WoW since its working on a new MMO, dubbed "Titan" so far. They have many of their lead developers working on the project.
Rift is Rift.
Gw2 is Gw2.
WoW is WoW.
IMO, WoW=Rift=Gw2 (Even if it isn't out, lol.)
