Amazing trailer. I read the books and Roona Mara looks and seems way more like my vision of the part than the Swedish actress

The Swedish film was so bland. they cut major scenes and major characters, like Anita. I am glad fincher is directing this or else i probably wouldn't want it remade. His interpretation of this will a masterpiece. By the way haters finicher is not Hollywood(this isn't being directed by michael fucking bay), they are just paying the bills. He is way to unconventional, he doesn't conform to the idiocricy of average americans(dumb down). He doesn't play by the rules and neither does this movie.

What I should have said I like the original particularly the role Noomi Rapace plays , put it this way I've got the original The Grudge and also the remake and my preference is to the original film. I will probably buy the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as well but I like original movies. The original movie may have been Swedish but it doesn't make it a bad film

@rachelk1991 Or maybe David Fincher is one of the greatest directors of our time and you should AT LEAST give him the benefit of the doubt. Especially considering the fact that the original movie was HEAVILY influenced by Fincher's earlier work. The book fits his style perfectly, how about stop being so pretentious? The original was a nice, solid thriller, nothing more.

It seems nowadays any solid movie that's not in English automatically becomes a classic in the eyes of some.

as for the trailer, it certainly has a better pace and rhythm than the four-minute one, but i loved the extension of the end music in that one. this one does get a bit annoying with the fade-outs, though..does anyone know what's said between 1:30 - 1:35? something about "the woman and the beast"?

I cannot wait to see this film. I saw the Swedish versions, and thought that they could not be done in a better way. Now that I've seen the trailer for the David Fincher interpretation, I'm thinking that Fincher's version will be much better. And everyone should give Rooney Mara a chance. It looks like she's surpassed Noomi in her devotion to capturing the character of Lisbeth.

@Starkardur yeah i guess so, the visual style of the films looks pretty similar, but i think this one suits the story more. Its much darker (which is no surprise seeing as its directed by David Fincher :D) compared to the original which I felt was kind of a let down compared to the book
