God always was, is and will always be. He is not bound by time or material. Question to you...if there is no God where do you think matter came from? Please admit that it takes as much faith to believe in the big bang as it does God. Evolutionists have to believe in the observations of other men.
Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Being an atheist doesn't mean that one believes in a big bang. It simply means that one does not believe in a god or deity, fairies, leprechauns, etc. It does not take faith to not believe in god, only that there is no evidence of any god through history's existence. So answer this. How does it feel to be the minority holder of the truth which can only be had through faith? There have been billions of people for millions of years, yet you are the lucky ones to know god?
I do not have to answer where matter came from any more than you do. From your perspective it came from God, but that doesn't really answer the question does it? As for psalm 118.8, does God speak directly to you or do you hear about God from man? Was the bible not written by men? How do you know it was from God? Because it and other people say so?
@responder12345 I came to know Christ as my savior 4 years ago and my life has changed completely. I see the world in a new perspective and I do not think that I could have done it by myself. I know that is not proof of anyting but what is in my heart and life. Since that probably is insignificant to you I have a question to pose to you. Imagine that there was a God...What would He have to do to get you to believe in Him? I am not trying to be tricky or anything but I am truly curious.
I don't know why you guys always ask me that same question. I can't imagine a God any more than I can imagine a brother. I do not have a brother, but I can imagine one. Of course I do have a sister and thus i do not have to imagine what a real sister would have to do to convince me she is real. My sister is also a writer and I never have to overcome any doubt that she is real prior to me accepting that she did indeed write what was penned by her.
@responder12345 you are contradicting yourself. You have claimed to be a Christian in the past so you would know what it was like at one point in time to have believed in God. To say that you can't imagine it is disingenuous. I understand your reluctance to answer the question because you see it as some sort of trap but I assure you it is only because I am curious. When I die I don't know exactly what I will experience in the afterlife but I can imagine.
instance. The scientists say that the solar system is 4.5 billion years old but the moon would be touching the earth at 1.5 billion years. Pluto is unexplainable by scientists but it seems to exist. Uranus's axis is on its side...Mercury has a magnetic field, Venus has no indications of aging...all unexplainable by provable scientific understanding. Please give scripture passages of what you are talking about. As a former Christian I think that you know about the new covenant..right?
Responder do you believe there is evil in the world? If so how do you identify it? If not..why not? Religion started school (historical fact). There is as much evidence for intelligent design as evolution because like you said it is based on observations. The interpretation of the observations are what differ. For example every planet in our solar system breaks the laws of scientific principles...how do the scientists fix this...a stray asteroid must have created a catastrophic anomaly for each.
